My spitballing on this?

1. Elections are held in the 3 eastern provinces.  If they vote pro-Russia, they will form their own sovereign country, that can be allied but not part of Russia.
2. Crimea is split East and West with a DMZ.
3. Russian non-agression treaty (perpetal)
4. Ukraine will not be allowed to joing NATO

1.  This already happened.  Russia has held fixed elections in Donetsk, Luhansk, and Crimea.  Russians living in Russia were allowed to vote in each of those elections - online.  As long as Russia occupies these territories, there can be no fair elections.  A non-starter for Ukraine.

2.  Russia will never agree to give up any part of Crimea.

3.  Where is there any treaty that Russia didn't violate?  If Russia abided by treaties it signed, then there would be no war right now.

4.  Already done.  In fact, that is what precipitated the 2022 invasion.  Russia held off its invasion until the moment Zelenskiy declared that Ukraine would not be joining NATO.  Once Zelenskiy said that, the Russian Army made its move on Kyiv.

Putin didn't attack Ukraine because they wanted to join NATO.  Putin attacked Ukraine once he was sure they would not.

This might seem like a tough swallow for Putin, but if he doesn't accept,  Trump will tell him:
1. Sanctions and tariffs invoked to strangle Russia internationally
and

2. U.S, floods the oil market with a target of $40/bbl.  The Rouble is at an all time low at about one U.S, cent. Putin has to realize that if 1 and 2, take place, Putin won't have the funds or resources to even bring his troops back.

1.  Putin can live with this.  The Soviets survived under sanctions for four decades.

2.  This is the best weapon Trump has.  But its not a negotiating tool.  He should do it anyway regardless of what Putin says.

Let the rest of Europe get involved.  Destroy the remainder of the Soviet Army.  By the end of June, Russian casualties will surpass one million.  Drive down the price of oil.  Reinstitute oil sanctions on Iran.  And you will see Russia losing the will to fight for Ukrainian oil fields that suddenly hold no value.

Well, the Russians did a good job of "liberating" all the people who lived there of their possessions, livelihoods and possibly their lives.

As U.S. and Putin negotiate, intel shows he's not interested 'in a real peace deal,' sources say

Intelligence suggests Russian President Vladimir Putin is going through the motions and still thinks he can eventually control all of Ukraine, the sources told NBC News.

Courtney Kube & Carol E. Lee  |  Feb. 18, 2025  |  11:46 AM EST

As the Trump administration begins preliminary talks with Russian officials about ending the war in Ukraine, intelligence from the United States and close allies shows that Russian President Vladimir Putin still wants to control all of Ukraine, according to four Western intelligence officials and two U.S. congressional officials.

“We have zero intelligence that Putin is interested in a real peace deal right now,” one of the congressional officials said.

Putin is sending representatives to Saudi Arabia for negotiations Tuesday with the U.S. that are aimed at ending the war. But, the six officials said, current intelligence shows Putin still believes he can wait out Ukraine and Europe to eventually control all of Ukraine.

“He thinks he’s winning,” one of the Western intelligence officials said, adding that Russian losses on the battlefield are not pressuring Putin to stop fighting.  .  .  .

Russia demands new territorial concessions from Ukraine – ISW

Ivan Diakonov — 18 February 2025, 04:39

Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, stated during a UN Security Council meeting on 17 February that Ukraine has "irrevocably lost" the territories occupied by Russia and must cede additional parts of oblasts.

Source: Institute for the Study of War (ISW)

Details: According to Nebenzya, Crimea and the occupied parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts have allegedly become part of Russia "forever". He also claimed that Ukraine must agree to a revision of its territorial borders as part of peace talks by surrendering areas of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts that are currently under Kyiv's control.

Nebenzya also emphasised that future Ukraine should become a neutral state, without membership in military alliances and without the right to join security blocs.

On the same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov rejected any possibility of territorial concessions from Russia.

Quote: "Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed in June 2024 that Ukraine should withdraw its forces from and cede any unoccupied territory in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts to Russia, and Nebenzya appears to be resurrecting this demand." .  .  .

To quote the ISW's Key Takeaways on 17 February:

  • The Kremlin reiterated its demands that Ukraine cede additional territory in Ukraine’s east and south to Russia and disband the Ukrainian military in the future while continuing to message that the Kremlin is unwilling to make territorial concessions itself in any future peace negotiations.

  • Lavrov and Nebenzya also categorically rejected European involvement in future peace negotiations and accused European countries of being aggressive toward Russia.

  • The Kremlin also appears to be resurrecting Putin's previous demands and information operations aimed at delegitimising Ukraine and its government in the eyes of the West – notably ahead of the 18 February Russia-US bilateral meeting in Saudi Arabia.

  • The Russian delegation participating in Russian-American talks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on 18 February does not include one of the members of Russian leader Vladimir Putin's innermost circle who had been reported as a likely negotiator.

  • Ukrainian forces continue to conduct drone strikes against Russian energy facilities supplying the Russian military.

  • Russian commanders continue to give orders for Russian forces to execute Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) on the frontline.

  • Unspecified sources told Bloomberg that Russia appears to be nearing a deal with the Syrian interim government to maintain a "reduced" military presence in Syria.

  • Russian forces advanced near Toretsk, Pokrovsk, Kurakhove and Velyka Novosilka.

  • Russian occupation authorities continue to violate the Geneva Convention by conscripting civilians in occupied Ukraine to serve in the Russian military.

I have yet to decrypt what is the rhyme or reason when a force determines they are under drone attack? Seems none of their plans work out with keeping together... I think I would scatter away from the group, at least make the drone operators have to keep up with multiple targets at once and not get a multi kill hit. I don't know if the place is land mined thus they keep together so just the front gets killed (then the next)... Nor does the lay there and play dead seem to work... perhaps they are so hurt they can't move, IDK...

Uh, no.  Zelenskiy was elected in 2019 during Trump's first term.   He ran in opposition to the person the Obama regime supported.  How many times does this lie have to be refuted?

Trump savages Zelensky and green lights Europe putting peacekeeping troops in Ukraine

Daily Mail
By GEOFF EARLE
19 February 2025

President Donald Trump tore into Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after U.S. negotiators opened talks with Russia without him that are meant to find a way to end Russia's war on Ukraine.

Trump blamed Zelensky for failing to head off the war inside his country, and the president said he himself was behind a push to require Ukraine to hold new elections before any peace plan can go through.

‘You have leadership now that's allowed a war to go on that should have never even happened, even without the United States,’ Trump said from his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida Tuesday – even as he said ‘I like him personally’ when speaking about Zelensky.

'You should have ended it – three years, you should have never started it,' he said, appearing to blame Zelensky for Russia's 2022 invasion.

Trump offered a positive assessment when asked about the talks, saying he was ‘much more confident’ than before Tuesday's meeting between Secretary of State Marco Rubio, White House National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, and Vladimir Putin aide Yuri Ushakov. Trump said the talks were 'very good.'

‘Russia wants to do something. They want to stop the savage barbarianism,’ Trump said, amid reports it had launched new drone attacks on Kyiv after the talks ended.

Zelenskey was elected to replace that corruption (and, arguably,  Russian puppet)

Poroshenko was, and is, actually anti-Russian, and had been fighting them since 2014 when the Russians seized Donetsk and Luhansk.  His post-Maidan predecessor and he called Ukraine's counter-attack an "anti-terrorist operation."

https://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/ukraine-crisis/ukraine-president-petro-poroshenko-demands-cease-fire-weeks-end-n126006

Ironically enough, Zelensky was considered more pro-Russian when he was elected in a landslide in April 2019, but he quickly learned how treacherous and aggressive the Russians really are toward his country.

My sense is that Trump thinks he's going to be able to impose a peace on Ukraine and Russia through some "deal" coupled with sanctions and a cut-off to military aid to Ukraine but he too is going to find out the hard way that the Russians cannot be trusted.  They're already upping the stakes by demanding more territorial concessions from Kyiv and total de-militarization.  I'm wondering what Rubio now thinks after his first meeting with his Russain counterparts.

And there you have it, Russian hypocrisy on full display. Say one thing and do the opposite.

Guess it's so obvious Trump, Vance, and Rubio can't see it. They're too busy demanding democracy in Europe while Putin throws critics out of windows.

Is Trump easily played by dictators?

They know he's a sucker for flattery, so they always treat him nice.

Look at North Korea and Lil Kim. Trump tried to deal with him in the first term, made nice, Kim pretended to be cooperative, and what did it get the US in the end?

Absolutely squat.

NK is still sponsoring terror, threatening neighboring countries, building up their nuke and missile supplies, helping Iran, etc.

Let's hope Trump doesn't get played by flatterers once again.
