You've been corrected on this before. Now you're just being an ignorant ass when you repeat this ahistorical crap.

When WW2 started Ukraine was part of the USSR and Ukraine had suffered the loss of some fifteen million of their people to the goddamned Russians who starved them, raped them, murdered them, and sent them to Siberia where they were starved, raped, and murdered.

There was no Ukraine during WW2. Just the USSR and various enslaved peoples trying to fight for their freedom from those coughsuckers: Finns, Ukrainians, Estonians, Latvians, Lithuanians, Poles, etc.

Cut it out.  22222frying pan

@Meghan just an observation; is it necessary to belittle a fellow Briefer by calling him an ass?

If Ukraine was once part of the USSR as you have stated, than perhaps that's why Putin feels he's entitled to that territory. How dare that g_d damn coughsucker!  Your words -- definitely not mine.

Zelenskyy will likely no longer be Ukraine's leader by Monday.

Then, the Russians will have won, and Ukraine is lost to the West.  Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia will be in Putin's crosshairs.

Source: Trump, Vance ‘Caught Off Guard by Zelensky’s Offensive Antics’

President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance were expecting a consequential but standard Oval Office appearance with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday.

Their appearance was anything but routine.

The meeting to announce a rare earth materials agreement between Ukraine and the United States as part of a pathway to peace between Ukraine and Russia deteriorated quickly after a combative Zelensky protested U.S. desire to draw down the long war.

“The president and vice president were caught off guard by Zelensky’s offensive antics,” a source familiar told Breitbart News.

Rumor has it that Parliament is in session and that they are talking about impeaching him.  Rightfully so.  The way he came here thinking he was going to out maneuver Trump in front of the press absolutely backfired and it appeared that he wasn't thinking of ending the war nor peace.

Schiff: Millions of Americans ‘Downright Ashamed’ of Trump

Pam Key 26 Feb 2025

Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Wednesday on CNN’s “Situation Room” that millions of Americans are “downright ashamed” of President Donald Trump’s actions in dealing with Ukraine.

Schiff said, “This is an effort to pressure Zelensky into giving up something for nothing. And I have to say this, on top of the resolution at the United Nations– where the United States sided with Russia, betrayed Ukraine – is one of the most shameful incidents in modern history. I think millions and millions and millions of Americans watching this not only disagree with the president but, maybe for the first time, are just downright ashamed of the president because we have betrayed an ally.”

He continued, “We not only betrayed an ally, but we betrayed our principles. Are we to be nothing except transactional now? We have no commitment to democracy, no commitment to our allies. It’s all going to be about the money. That seems to be Donald Trump’s orientation. But what a sad chapter of our history.”

Schiff added, “Ukrainians have made just tremendous sacrifices and to be reduced to this by his most important ally, the United States, coming hat in hand with some kind of fig leaf offer of the mineral wealth of his country in exchange for little or nothing,” Schiff concluded. “It is really just tawdry, but it is, you know, what this administration has reduced our allies to.”

At least Lindsey can read a room sometimes.

At least Pres. Trump was gracious enough to leave the door open for him to come back.

I think it all depends on how quickly they can replace Z  and how quickly that person can call an emergency meeting with Trump, and I have a feeling that Z isn't going to step down willingly.  Ukraine now has another disastrous problem on their hands.

Prayers up for the people of Ukraine.

No. Because Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia  are members of NATO.

Just not going to happen, at least not in the next five years.

Lots of people said the same thing in 1914 and 1939.

Lots of sensible people didn't believe Billy Mitchell saying the Japanese would attack Pearl Harbor someday.

In any case history makes clear that appeasing dictators like Putin encourages them in their aims.

Worse, Trump is legitimizing future conflicts over ethnic populations that have aggressively settled in or have colonized other countries.

Sorry, but this kind of crap just never ends well.

We'll see what happens, I think Z may make a deal with China. He's more desperate than he was before, either that, or perhaps China already made him an offer as well.

I'm pretty sure Zelinski's dealing days are done, or soon will be.

Yes, especially when he/she has been corrected on this same exact point before and yet insists on using it anyway. Courtesy obviously didn't get through the first time.

Lots of people don't believe that the Soviet Union would have fallen of its own weight soon after its appearance but for the good ole U. S. Department of State and the N. Y. Times propping it up but its true.

In the period of WW2 1939-1945 who were the leaders of this independent and sovereign Ukraine you speak of?

There are a lot of politicians claiming Zelensky was "ambushed."

There was a full 40 minutes of dialogue before the "fireworks" started.
