Trump: ‘Punish’ Women for Abortions

There must be "some form of punishment" for women who have abortions, Donald Trump said Wednesday afternoon during a pre-taped MSNBC town hall event. Asked by host Chris Matthews whether he believes abortion should be illegal, Trump agreed, noting that to actually ban the procedure, "you go back to a position like they had where they would perhaps go to illegal places, but we have to ban it." Pressed further on whether he believes women would be specifically punished for abortion if it were illegal, Trump said yes, but added that the exact punishment would "have to be determined." Asked whether men would be held responsible for abortions under the law as well, Trump replied, "I would say no."

This is the typical "gotcha" question by the media. Trump fell right into the trap because he is fundamentally unprepared, and by all indications has no desire to prepare himself for the most powerful job on earth.

Trump not only wants to punish women, he seems to want to make it a federal crime.

No pro-life supporter advocates such a position. He thinks pro-lifers are stupid, just as he thinks his supporters are stupid.

Wow.............. No I just made a comment about polls. Each and every-time Trump says something that upsets people Cnn and the rest of them ask if it will hurt him with his poll numbers. So that is why I asked that question because the never for Trump media always asks that OK?

He's never outlined these "exceptions" that he speaks of. In fact, he's never even thought about this issue until Matthews asked him. It's obvious.
