So supposedly Trump boosted his campaign for governor.

As you should know @libertybele   --- Toward the end of the 2018 campaign, DeSantis was looking at a massive defeat ---- and being the first Republican to lose the Florida governorship since 1991.  With the hail Mary pass from Trump, DeSantis won by .04% ---- over a crackhead.

Quote
Does that give Trump  the right to trash DeSantis because he's now obviously jealous and threatened by his success??

If Ron DeSanctus can't run with the big dogs, he needs to stay on the porch.

Sorry but this is bullshit, didn't Trump just attack the guy publically? Ridiculous trumpism. Reminds me of why we constantly lose with Trump.

@Weird Tolkienish Figure

Yeah,Trump must have lost hundreds of elections,huh?

Imagine the nerve and gall and stupidity for Trumpers to criticize Ron Desantis for not saying something about Trump's prosecution, as if that would matter anyway.

@Weird Tolkienish Figure

If it wouldn't matter anyway,why do you have your panties all in a wad?

I don't believe Trump put DeSantis "on the map." DeSantis is doing the job to which he was elected right now, and I don't expect him to spend his days tweeting about DJT, anyway.

@mountaineer

I agree. Doing so is possibly/probably even harmful  to his political future.

By your name calling and ridiculous remarks obviously you see DeSantis as a huge threat to Trump.  @Right_in_Virginia  you should be worried as to how Trump looks; looking and acting like a 5th grade bully isn't going to cut it this time around.  People are fed up with his crappola and it is not becoming of an ex-president trying again to win re-election.

Now they’re demanding that Ron DeSantis activate the National Guard to stop any Trump indictment.

Bizarre  to demand a governor to activate their state’s  National Guard to intervene in a legal proceeding

@LMAO

Given his Yale history degree and a Harvard law degree, along with 15 years in the USN, that certainly would have been an odd professional trajectory.

@mountaineer

HOW did he find time to do all that,AND serve 15 years in the Navy?

DeSantis' political resume:

Ballotpedia:

Ron DeSantis (Republican Party) is the Governor of Florida. He assumed office on January 8, 2019. His current term ends on January 5, 2027.

DeSantis (Republican Party) ran for re-election for Governor of Florida. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

As governor, DeSantis received national attention for his response to the coronavirus pandemic, refusing to enact many restrictions implemented by other U.S. governors.[1][2][3]

Before serving as governor, DeSantis represented Florida's 6th congressional district in the U.S. House. He was elected to three terms beginning in 2012. DeSantis resigned his U.S. House seat on September 10, 2018, during his gubernatorial campaign.[4]

As a representative, DeSantis was a founding member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus.[5] He sponsored amendments to institute term limits for members of Congress, supported efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, and proposed limiting funding for Robert Mueller's investigation into the 2016 Donald Trump (R) presidential campaign's alleged involvement with Russia related to 2016 presidential election interference.[6]

DeSantis served in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps and as legal adviser to a U.S. Navy SEAL commander in Iraq. DeSantis became a member of the U.S. Navy Reserves following his active duty service and continued to serve during his first term as governor.[7]

From his campaign for House in 2012 to his 2018 gubernatorial campaign, DeSantis described himself as a "conservative in the Reagan tradition."[8][9]

Britannica:

DeSantis subsequently worked as a federal prosecutor. In 2011 he published Dreams from Our Founding Fathers: First Principles in the Age of Obama, in which he described his brand of conservatism and criticized the policies of Pres. Barack Obama. The following year DeSantis ran for a seat in the House of Representatives and was easily elected to represent District 6 in northeastern Florida. During his tenure, he cofounded (2015) the conservative House Freedom Caucus and became a frequent commentator on Fox News. Backed by the Tea Party, a conservative populist movement, DeSantis announced his bid for the Senate in 2015 but withdrew after incumbent Republican Marco Rubio decided to seek reelection. In 2017 Donald Trump became president, and DeSantis was among his most vocal supporters. That year he supported Trump’s massive tax-reform bill and the unsuccessful effort to replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

----------

DeSantis was well known long before Trump, looks like he might have made Trump in FL, not the other way around.

Imagine the nerve and gall and stupidity for Trumpers to criticize Ron Desantis for not saying something about Trump's prosecution, as if that would matter anyway.

Actually, the stench of nerve, gall and stupidity is coming from DeSanctus.

He either thinks he can win without "Trumpers" or that they'll be so dazzled by Florida's cleanup after hurricane Ian that it won't matter Tiny D ignored the pleas of hundreds of Floridians trapped in the DC Gulag for years, or that he had no comment on the FBI raid on the home of Donald Trump in the state he leads or Ronny hiding his smile at the news President Trump may be taken from the "Free State of Florida" in handcuffs.

If you are a true believer in Ron DeSanctmonius ---- hope he doesn't run in 2024.  He will NEVER escape the defeat awaiting him now.

Trump advisers argued against calling for protests if he's indicted
Max Thornberry

Former President Donald Trump’s advisers urged him not to call for protests in the event he is criminally indicted next week, according to reports.

After the infamous riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6, an event that followed Trump giving a fiery speech and touting conspiracy theories that the 2020 election was stolen from him, aides were concerned a call for more protests would not look good for the former president, according to CNN.

Cohen: I’ve Been Asked to Be Available to NYC Grand Jury ‘As a Rebuttal Witness’

Michael Cohen, a former personal attorney for Donald Trump, said Sunday on MSNBC’s “Alex Witt Reports” that prosecutors from the Manhattan district attorney’s office convening a grand jury as part of a criminal probe into a 2016 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels have asked him to come in Monday “as rebuttal witness.”

Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia:

After high school, DeSantis studied history at Yale University. He was captain of Yale's varsity baseball team and joined the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity.[21][22] He was an outfielder on the Yale baseball team; as a senior in 2001, he had the team's best batting average at .336.[23][24][25][26] While attending Yale he worked a variety of jobs, including as an electrician's assistant and a coach at a baseball camp.[15] DeSantis graduated from Yale in 2001 with a B.A. magna cum laude.[27]

After Yale, he taught history and coached for a year at Darlington School in Georgia.[28] He subsequently attended Harvard Law School, graduating in 2005 with a Juris Doctor cum laude.[29][30]

Military service
In 2004, during his second year at Harvard Law, DeSantis was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy and assigned to the Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG). He completed Naval Justice School in 2005. Later that year, he reported to the JAG Trial Service Office Command South East at Naval Station Mayport, Florida, as a prosecutor. He was promoted from lieutenant, junior grade to lieutenant in 2006. He was then stationed at Joint Task Force Guantanamo (JTF-GTMO), working directly with detainees at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.[31][32][33] The records of DeSantis's service in the Navy were often redacted upon release to the public, to protect personal privacy, according to the Navy.[34] Mansur Ahmad Saad al-Dayfi, who was held at Guantanamo, alleged that DeSantis oversaw force-feedings of detainees.[35][36][37]

In 2007, DeSantis reported to the Naval Special Warfare Command Group in Coronado, California, where he was assigned to SEAL Team One and deployed to Iraq[38] with the troop surge as the legal advisor to the SEAL Commander of the Special Operations Task Force-West in Fallujah.[31][32][33]

DeSantis returned to the U.S. in April 2008, at which time he was reassigned to the Naval Region Southeast Legal Service. The U.S. Department of Justice appointed him to serve as a Special Assistant U.S. attorney[38] at the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Middle District of Florida. DeSantis was assigned as a trial defense counsel until his honorable discharge from active duty in February 2010. He concurrently accepted a reserve commission as a lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the US Navy Reserve.[39]

During his military career, DeSantis has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal.[31][32][33]

DeSantis was still serving in the U.S. Navy Reserve as of his transition to the governorship.[2] His membership in the Navy ended in 2019, shortly after his gubernatorial inauguration.[3]

Bizarre  to demand a governor to activate their state’s  National Guard to intervene in a legal proceeding

@LMAO

"They",who?

For once,I agree with you  on something. It IS bizarre for anyone with even the vaguest understanding of legal matters to think ANY Governor is going to be so damn foolish as to demand something like that.

Well,maybe a Dim Governor could get away with it because ,well,their supporters are either stupid,or the handlers that earn their living by leading the sheeple.
