Quote
President Donald Trump on Friday deflected blame for his administration’s lagging ability to test Americans for the coronavirus outbreak, insisting instead — without offering evidence — that fault lies with his predecessor, Barack Obama.

“I don't take responsibility at all,” Trump said defiantly, pointing to an unspecified “set of circumstances” and “rules, regulations and specifications from a different time.”

The remarks from the president came in response to questions at a Friday press conference about the lack of widespread access to testing, an aspect of his administration's coronavirus response that has been the subject of widespread, steady criticism. Administration officials told lawmakers yesterday that the U.S. tested about 11,000 people during the first seven weeks of the outbreak — roughly as many as South Korea is testing each day.

And Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee on Thursday that “the system is not really geared to what we need right now” in and called the testing system “a failing.”

Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

What was the question that Trump was asked, and what was his response?  After three years of this crap, I have learned to look for what Trump actually said instead of what Pollutico paraphrases about a question never asked.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

Trump is not being honest.  At his meeting where he declare Federal Emergency he was asked about taking the test himself.  He said most likely he would get the test.  "I think I will be", he said "Fairly soon, we're working on that, we're working out a schedule."  Saying not because of any exposure he might have had, "but because I think I will do it anyway."

Not ringing true.  He has been exposed and he can get a test right now.  He is the President.  He doesn't have to schedule it.  At his CDC meeting he said that there were going to be enough tests for anyone that needed them.

Why are you people echoing these ridiculous liberal memes about the President...."he's not a leader", "he was totally unprepared", "he's calling coronavirus a hoax"...as its all Bull-scheisse. Are you actually TRYING to be useful idiots of the Left...for god's sakes, if you're going to be unrelenting critics at least come up with your own material. Simply repeating the propaganda of the Left is unoriginal and boring.

Let's keep this simple. The President saved a ton of lives by going against WHO recommendations and banning travel to China and other locations very early in this crisis...and he has been out front taking strong action to mitigate this outbreak from day one. Yes, we were short on test kits...which has nothing to do with the President's leadership in this crisis, unless somehow you think he should have "sensed" there was a coming Coronavirus outbreak.

So honestly, SFTU...if we want to hear propaganda we can simply turn on CNN and the letter networks...nobody needs to hear you folks echoing this baloney without ANY regard for actual events.

@Hoodat And did you find what Trump actually said? or have you also learned to not find what you didn't want to know?
If you still don't know don't worry...It is sure to pop up frequently in DNC ads.

It seems to be this site's business paradigm, to keep a few such "Useful idiots" that pretend to be conservative, just to keep things stirred up.

I don't listen to liberals.  But they shouldn't be complaining.  Trump just gave Nancy everything she wanted and more.  8 Billion a week ago.  Thirty billion today.  Ask Nancy as she announced with glee its about testing, testing, testing.  What she didn't say is the humongous amount of Social spending,  This Coronavirus has become Christmas in March to Liberals.

Did you see the $1.43 Trillion omnibus gift they got last Christmas?  https://www.nationalreview.com/news/senate-sends-2020-budget-to-president-trump/  Trump last threatened in March 2018 to “never sign another" omnibus, but that is not the first time he proffered that...what's the word?..."lie" "broken promise" "truthful hyperbole" Fake News talking point.

Quote
“Leaders and appropriators have cleverly put the negotiated spending agreement into two bills so that we can all pretend that it’s better than just one,” said Senator Mike Lee (R., Utah). “Even though they were negotiated at the same time, released to the public at the same time, and will be voted on within only minutes of each other.”
3

Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) called the bill a “pile of trash,” while Rick Scott (R., Fla.) wrote that “it’s time to stop the madness. How many more trillions of dollars do we need to spend before we wake up to the danger of our national debt?”

Overall, the package increased government funding by nearly $50 billion from last year. Despite concerns, Trump is expected to sign the bill.

Wow look at all those nice sounding principles.  I used to love to hear that.  It almost sounds like they are identifying a problem occurring during the Trump administration.  Shouldn't they be nodding mindlessly behind President Trump?  I wonder what happened to that Republican party...if it ever really existed?

Are you ready for the coming Trump bailouts?

  • Didn't vote for McCain Dole Romney Trump !
I try to look at things fairly... this article is about stretching a half truth... Trump is right, the CDC under Obama made the requirements over taxing that it limited the scope testing could be done with any efficiency. You had to make the tests cover a very wide range of stuff or not at all... thus it gave a lot of false readings being it was not being tailored to the specific case needed testing. So I don't blame Trump for the test failures (but he should of overturned some of Obama's crap overreach)...

I do blame Trump for saying stupid stuff like the US only had 12 cases of this virus and he thinks it will be wiped out soon... He didn't grasp the reach this virus could have and in my opinion took it too lightly. When informed they were moving infected people to Alabama, he claimed he didn't have a clue it was happening (all CDC decisions)... Trump should be on top of things (or have people in key positions doing their jobs)... I can forgive some lapses, but there is more than enough to suggest to me Trump needs to tighten his ship cause it has several leaks.
Exodus 18:21 Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders over ....

So those of us tired of reading regurgitated Lefty talking points are opposed to free speech? Grow up. Nobody is saying you "can't" speak your mind, what's being said is that you shouldn't...you will always  have the right to spew all the half truths and absurdities you like. Likewise, the rest of us on the board have every right to be sick and tired of the baloney coming from a few resident "Joy Behar mouthpieces".

Using a standard Lefty tactic, you then accuse the rest of us on the board of your own crime...claiming we "regurgitate Fox talking points". While this accusation is common from the Left, its particularly galling coming from self proclaimed conservatives who SHOULD know better. At best, you're doing an "Oh ya, well same to you and more of it"...which on reflection does seem characteristic of your discussion style. At worst, you're just advancing what you know to be a childish lie.

Disagree all you want, its clear that nearly everyone hear enjoys and respects coherent arguments and rational debate, but if all you're going to do is be the board's "Joy Behar" don't be too surprised when people think what you're saying is absurd. Every Trump supporter on this board, and the 94% of Republicans who support him, have our eyes wide open to both his strengths and flaws...and quite frankly...we get tired of dipshits who throw out the line that we're "starry eyed, Kool Aid drinking, sycophants". You know its a false narrative, even the Far Left knows its garbage, yet you and they continue to spew it...I get the Left's intellectual dishonesty, but I'll admit it sickens me far more to see self proclaimed conservatives repeat such a knowing lie.

The “I don’t take responsibility at all” line is Trump’s believing everything he does will always be great and correct

OTOH, if he takes the blame, he knows the DNC will use that to push the incompetence issue.

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

What’s wrong with being critical of a President? I’m not talking about the left’s nonsense but  justified criticism based on the facts. Many of us here got zotted  from FR for expressing legitimate concerns we had with Trump at the time

One of my big issues is our fiscal situation. Trump has performed very poorly on that issue. Should I not be critical of him just because he has an “R” after his name?
