Odd.

Could be a copyright thing for the news stories.

No...I think it might be that they want you to click on the URL so that you get to see all the ad links, etc..

it's because the url starts with "https:" instead of "http:"  If you change "https" to "http" it should embed:

If you are reading the topic - just reply to it like you would any other topic.  If you are looking for the TCG topics - go to "Briefing Room Polls" - then go to "Repub and Dem 2016 Primaries" - then go to "Trump Caucus Group".

There you will see the TCG articles and you can click on them and reply as you normally do any other topic.

Sorry, it is kind of hidden.

How do I import pictures into this forum?  Cut and paste functions don't seem to work.  I see plently of pics, but I myself can't seem to be able to post a picture.

Please excuse if these questions are dumb.

1) Is hitting the reply button the only way to post a comment? What if you're not actually seeking to respond to the last comment but start a new query such as I have just done? Is there some way you can just post a comment as the next in line? (No problem if there isn't, just wanted to be sure.)

2) Am I right to assume that in order to reply to any comment in particular, (say one posted somewhat earlier) then you must include a quote from that comment. Is the poster you are replying to notified of your response automatically by means that you quoted part of his / her message?

Thanks in advance for your response.

1/ If you want to make an observation or comment in general on that particular thread, yes, you hit reply. If you want to post an article for others to comment on, for example a news article on drunken snapping turtles in Tallahasse, you would go to the board "national news and current events" and, at the top of the board, above the thread titles, there are buttons. One is "New Topic" so you'd hit that then post as normal.

2/ Quoting is a courtesy - saves people scrolling around - so is encouraged. It doesn't tell the person you quoted that you have replied, but it shows up as replies to the thread they were interested in enough to comment  on under "Show New Replies to Your Posts" in the blue box at the top of every page.
