I am sorry, but I do not consider Rep Thomas Massie as a TOP REPUBLICAN.  MSN goes out of their way to place significance to this lowly discontent, and distort the simple truth.  There should be repercussions for this false reporting.

Lawmakers respond to U.S. launching strikes on 3 Iranian nuclear facilities

Washington — Lawmakers across the political aisle offered a mixed response Saturday following President Trump's announcement that the United States launched strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities.

Immediately following Mr. Trump's announcement, Congressional Republicans, including Sen. Lindsey Graham and Sen. Ted Cruz, backed Mr. Trump's actions, while a number of leading Democrats condemned his decision to launch the attack without consulting Congress.

In a televised address Saturday night, the president described the strikes as a "spectacular military success" and said "Iran's key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated." He warned of "far greater" attacks if Iran does not "make peace."

Not only do I not see Massie as a 'top Republican', he is wrong about the Constitutionality of conducting surgical strikes without Congressional approval, especially in an environment where informing Congress beforehand risks OPSEC and could jeopardize the mission.

Massie is a reliable fiscal conservative, but it seems to me that ever since his wife died, he seems to have gone off the rails on other issues, essentially siding with the Dems.

Thomas Massie is a high nineties Conservative. He bends hard toward fiscal conservatism and libertarianism. - It's that hard libertarian core talking - He takes his Constitution neat. That he would require congressional involvement in acts of war does not surprise me.

I think he's wrong in this... But I can certainly see him from where I stand.

Massie is wrong.  The president has total discretion in commanding the military.  He can take action and after a certain period of time he is required to seek Congress; approval.  If it required Congressional approval up front, he would be paralyzed for months

As it is, the judicial branch of government has paralyzed the executive branch to the point of not functioning.  That is not how our system is set up.  The stinking lawyers are mucking up everything they touch, which has been my work experience my whole life.

President Trump unleashed his fury on libertarian-leaning Rep. Thomas Massie and vowed to prop up a primary challenge after the Kentuckian co-introduced a measure to rein in his war powers.

Trump, who has long been vexed by Massie (R-Ky.) in the past on a host of issues, ripped him as a “pathetic loser” during a fiery Truth Social screed.

“Massie is weak, ineffective, and votes ‘NO’ on virtually everything put before him (Rand Paul, Jr.), no matter how good something may be,” Trump fumed on Truth Social Sunday.
