The above quote is you on this very thread...reply #5

LOL!  What a schizo-maroon!

Yeah, I changed my mind real fast when Trump suddenly tried to rob Ukraine this week and is forcing an unconditional surrender to an evil and aggressive Russian regime, falling back on appeasement as his foreign policy in Europe.  Betrayal is an ugly, ugly thing.

So I guess you support THIS, old man?

Russian massacres of innocent Ukrainian civilians OK with you?  Or just not your problem?  Look reall good and hard because that's exactly what Putin has planned for us.

And oh BTW, Trump declared himself 'King' this week.  He's completely power drunk now.

So just bugger off you old fool.   :pootrump: 888buttkisser

I give a Trump an A+ a month in.  I have been a political junkie since Nixon, so that is a data set of almost 60 years.  No one has improved things this much and fast ever.  I think the King Thing, is about the only item that I haven't care for thus far.  I know it was trolling, but that one crossed the line a tad. Well make that 2.....   This DOGE benefit needs to go 100% towards deficit reduction.  But I am a deficit hawk anyway, so that's no surprise.

    tipping hat!!

Understand it WAS trolling because the NY Governor said it was none of his business to inject himself into the "traffic congestion" [scheme] saying in an announcement that "...he's not a King".

So easy, even a Montana hick could understand it...

First, by EO you show the nation how much better your approach/fix to a problem works when initiated.

THEN...you put the onus on the House and Senate to pass legislation to make said "fix" permanent

Rinse...repeat.

The EXACT OPPOSITE is what will occur.

They will circle the wagons to protect their power and their money spigot.

They will refuse to pass anything into law for him.

Must be different down here. We call it observing events that have actually happened.

We'll see at the end of the fiscal year.  The ONLY thing that will matter is how much money remains in the Treasury at the end of the year, and what they do with that money.  For anything under $2 trillion, the ONLY fiscally responsible course of action would be to remove that money from circulation.  Give it back to the Fed and tell them to destroy it.  We could even rent out a stadium, pile up $2 trillion in $100-bills, and set it on fire.  Do that, and we will have then accomplished something.  Anything short of that is basically doing exactly what we've been doing for the last 60+ years.

We, the current taxpayers, OVERSPENT.  We the taxpayers received $6.8 trillion worth of government, but paid only $4.8 trillion.  The extra $2 trillion must be paid back.  This fiscal year.  No talk of windfall or payouts.  Send that $2 trillion back where it came from.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

You're suggest June 30th, 2025?

Considering the short length of time from today, you think that is sufficiently fair?

Well, yes in fact, it does. He was hired to run the show. If he can't get the others to follow and adopt his agenda, then he did in fact fail, by the very definition.

And as he continues to piss off absolutely everyone he needs to pass law, that failure is predictable.

Good grief, Trump hasn't even been in office for 3 months, he's appointed some very competent people, unveiled a lot of $$$ that was corruptly spent ... and I find it really disheartening that he's being ridiculed.

Give Trump some credit here and let's wait and see what happens in the next couple of months; hopefully we'll start to see some people being held accountable and a completed border wall.

I would like this as well, But seems an extravagant demand in view of the compilation of at least 60 years of this building up with many Presidents and Congresses.  In addition, to make changes stick, there are a myriad of laws that must be obeyed, lawsuits that need addressing, and the congressional sausage maker has to weigh in to get all this done.  Not amenable to rapid movements.

Between the ideas of fast @Hoodat and the more methodical @jafo2010 , maybe there is some middle ground to embark on that can get the job done without saying it a failure if timelines not absolutely reached.

At this point in time all I can say is God Bless President Trump and I think he has made some significant strides.
