Dont let the Media and Dems lie to you.
They had water.
In 2024 California received 26 inches of rain which is 104% their average rain fall.
Gavin Newsom and Dems just pumped 20K cubic ft of water per second into the Pacific instead of storing it for things like…

California has about 1300 named reservoirs. Many/most are at 80%-110% of "full pool", and nearly all well above seasonal average. Some conservatives seem to believe California lets all of its rain and snow water run off into the Pacific Ocean. Reality contradicts such stupid stereotypes. For extra credit, research "Delta Smelt court cases".

More to the point, though, the water for firefighting in LA County is controlled/mangled by LA County. The water in Pacific Palisades is not directly connected to local reservoirs. It is pumped and stored there by LA, not the State of California. Goobernor Noisome has zero jurisdiction over it.

Los Angeles County officials say 22 arrested, charges include burglary and looting during fires

Los Angeles County law enforcement said Saturday that 22 individuals have been arrested on charges that include burglary and looting during the ongoing wildfire emergency.

L.A. County Sheriff Robert Luna said there were 19 arrests in the Eaton \area and three in the Palisades area.

"All these individuals were in areas they were not supposed to be there, meaning they had no business being there," Luna said.

Of four people apprehended overnight two were arrested for unauthorized entry of an emergency area.

A curfew is in effect for the emergency areas in Los Angeles County. Police emphasized that those found in violation of the curfew – which is intended to give emergency responders and firefighters space to operate – will be arrested.

"Most of the arrests were made for burglary, looting, including trespassing, possession of narcotics, identity theft, and one suspect was on active parole and charged with the possession of a concealed firearm," Luna said.

IRS announces tax relief for victims of deadly LA fires

The Internal Revenue Service is providing tax relief for individuals and businesses in Southern California impacted by the deadly wildfires raging across Los Angeles County.

The IRS said in a news release it will extend the deadline for individuals and businesses impacted by the wildfires to file tax returns and make tax payments until Oct. 15, 2025. Residents of Los Angeles County qualify for the relief, but any counties later designated a disaster area by FEMA will also be eligible.

Additionally, individuals or businesses within the declared disaster area who suffer uninsured or unreimbursed losses related to the fires can claim those losses on their 2025 tax returns.

Any disaster relief payments victims of the wildfires may receive will also be income tax-free, the IRS said.

And taxpayers who may live outside the disaster area but whose records needed for meeting IRS deadlines were lost in the fires are also eligible for relief.

Scientology’s ‘Volunteer Ministers’ getting roasted online for LA fire photo opps
Tony Ortega
Jan 11, 2025
Quote
For years we’ve been bringing you reports about Scientology’s natural disaster antics, when it sends its “Volunteer Ministers” to the scenes of destruction along with camera crews to produce slick images and videos about the church supposedly doing good in the world.

Why does Scientology do this? ...

The biggest problem, of course, is that while you’re fleecing people in a science fiction setup like that, you don’t want interference from outside busybodies. So Hubbard also came up with a scheme he called “social coordination,” a collection of front groups whose job it is to make it look like Scientology is not weird, that it’s more mainstream than it actually is, and that it really is doing things you would expect a “church” to do in order to benefit local communities.

So, that’s why “Volunteer Ministers” are called out to the scenes of natural disasters in their high-visibility yellow T-shirts and yellow windbreakers along with camera crews in order to take advantage of photo opportunities in places where people are in real distress.  ...

Numerous online posters are claiming that Scientology VMs are picking up supplies at staging areas like at the Santa Anita race track, and taking them away in order to set up their photo opps somewhere else. ...

Another problem with theCalifornia-lets-all-its-water-run-off-into-the-Pacific-Ocean stupidity is ground water recharge, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groundwater_recharge_in_California . Accounting for 40%-60% of CA water usage, it's rather significant, if invisible. So far, Enviros and NIMBYs haven't blocked/hindered recharge projects. In my area, the aquifer has been so full for most of a year that water literally seeps through a low-lying section of a freeway I use for my daily commute.

Excerpt:
In the midst of California’s wildfire chaos, tensions between Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Chief Kristin Crowley and Mayor Karen Bass’ office reached a boiling point, sparking rumors of Crowley’s potential firing. While these reports were swiftly denied, the drama highlighted growing friction between the city’s leadership and its fire department amid a disaster of unprecedented scale.

100% the deck was stacked against the city by failed leaders Newsom and Bass

How many more lives and homes need to be lost before California takes fire prevention seriously?

Yes, saltwater can be used to extinguish wildfires
Story by Kelly Jones • 20h

The death toll is rising from devastating wildfires in Southern California that have destroyed more than 10,000 homes and forced the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of residents. The most significant of the fires include the Palisades Fire, which has burned approximately 20,000 acres and the Eaton Fire, which covers nearly 14,000 acres. Neither fire has been contained.

A major challenge in battling the fires is a dwindling water supply. The Palisades Fire is along the California coast, prompting people to question why firefighters aren’t using the Pacific Ocean to help extinguish the fires.

One viral X post with 29 million views asks, “Is there any particular reason why we can't use ocean water to help put out the fires?” A VERIFY reader also texted us to ask if ocean water can be used to put out fires.

THE QUESTION
Can ocean water be used to fight wildfires?

No, not all the water.  Just the water needed to put out fires in Los Angeles.

One Of Just Two CL-415 Super Scooper Planes Taken Out Of Palisades Fire Fight By Drone

The drone strike punched a hole in the CL-415's wing and caused all firefighting aircraft on the Palisades fire to be temporarily grounded.
Howard Altman

Adrone’s collision with a water-dropping aircraft fighting the Palisades fire in Los Angeles caused temporary grounding of all aircraft working that fire and took out one of just two amphibious planes capable of repeatedly scooping 1,600 gallons of water from the ocean and delivering it onto nearby flames, Cal Fire told The War Zone.

A Canadair CL-415 Super Scooper turboprop plane smashed into a drone around 10 a.m. local time, Cal Fire spokesman Chris Thomas told The War Zone.

The combination of the Super Scooper being put out of service along with other firefighting aircraft being temporarily grounded was a blow to crews trying to put out the massive fire, one of several blazing across the Los Angeles area. Thousands of homes have been destroyed in the neighborhood located between Malibu and Santa Monica.

“This is creating a huge danger,” said Thomas. “This is an unprecedented fire. When we ground all aircraft, it could be anywhere from 15 minutes to half an hour. You know how far a fire can spread in half an hour.”

As my post stated, Los Angeles County and City control it. State government does not have direct control over what The Land of LA does with the water it draws from state and county reservoirs.
Once again, where does the water come from?  State and county reservoirs?

Are there any county reservoirs that the state mandates on collection methods, environmental control, etc. that are exempt from these state mandates?

If not, there is zero chance the state does not have control over any county or state reservoirs.

The state has broad fingers into local actions and whether it is direct or indirect, can cause anomalies in the independent exercise of local control.

Think of it this way:
Was not the recent collapse of the Santa Cruz pier not indirectly controlled by the state when the mandatory environmental regulations caused the delay to needed structural work being performed?

Deadly Los Angeles wildfires: New evacuation orders as biggest blaze stretches east

 • Crews have reported some progress in the dayslong battle against deadly wildfires in Los Angeles, but more than 100,000 residents remain under evacuation orders. Officials have confirmed at least 11 deaths, but say it’s not yet safe to assess the true total.

• Firefighters are racing to make progress ahead of more wind and dry conditions. The coastal Palisades Fire is at least 11% contained but now moving inland toward the communities of Encino, West LA and Brentwood, near the Getty Center and UCLA. The Eaton Fire in Altadena is 15% contained, with firefighters reporting favorable conditions overnight.

• California’s governor is calling for an independent investigation into what caused some hydrants to lose water pressure during the height of this week’s firefights. A CNN review of the response suggests a devastating combination of factors pushed the county’s resources beyond its limits.

There should be strict laws in place in CA against price gouging during a disaster.

LA fires live updates: 13 people reported missing amid deadly LA wildfires

The Palisades, Eaton and Hurst and fires are still out-of-control in Los Angeles on Saturday, four days since they began ripping across the county, killing at least 11 people, displacing nearly 200,000, and destroying as many as 10,000 structures, including whole residential neighborhoods.

At least 35,000 acres of land have burned down — an area about two-and-a-half times the size of Manhattan.

At least 35,000 acres of land have burned down — an area about two-and-a-half times the size of Manhattan.

This is a tragedy on so many different levels.  200,000 displaced people; so where are they all going to go?

The crest of that hill would be a great place to attack the fire and block its spread.  If only there was some type of aircraft they could use to dump water or some other flame retardant on it.

There should be strict laws in place in CA against price gouging during a disaster.

I disagree.  What is needed is a better collective memory.  Government regulation is not the answer.

I remember a few years back in Atlanta where the Colonial Pipeline from the Gulf refineries was shut down, resulting in a gas shortage.  Many stations ran out of gas.  There were a few stations that jacked their prices up to $5/gal (when normally less than $2) to take advantage of the shortage - supply and demand.

Personally, I believe that is their prerogative.  If someone truly needed gas, it was available at a premium.  But the payback comes once the pipeline reopened and prices came back down.  From that point forward, everyone knew which stations decided to price gouge during an emergency.  They saw their future bottom line decline substantially all because they decided to gouge for the short term.

Businesses can do whatever they choose to do.  But they may want to consider their future relationship with their community when deciding on pricing.

As for the landlords above, put their names out there.  Or at least the address of the property.  And let people know that the people owning that house tried to take advantage of the fire situation by jacking up their rents.  Start a website of shame, and put their names at the top.   We don't need government regulation for that.

That is not the prerogative of the ATF to determine origin of fire.  Only if it is in fact arson.
Most of the libs and state authorities believe it to be climate change, so Greta should be charged with finding its cause.

About the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
ATF is a law enforcement agency in the United States’ Department of Justice that protects our communities from violent criminals, criminal organizations, the illegal use and trafficking of firearms, the illegal use and storage of explosives, acts of arson and bombings, acts of terrorism, and the illegal diversion of alcohol and tobacco products. We partner with communities, industries, law enforcement, and public safety agencies to safeguard the public we serve through information sharing, training, research, and use of technology.

ATF Los Angeles
@LosAngelesATF
ATF will take the lead in determining the origin and cause of the Pacific Palisades fire. Certified fire investigators have been on scene and will continue to work in conjunction with state and local investigators to determine the cause of this tragic event.

It is not the cause that made this a tragic event.  It is the abject neglect by Democrat politicians over the last two decades that made this a tragic event.  Governing requires responsibility - a duty to serve the people by removing the hazards of dry timber and to provide water and the means to deliver it as an emergency response.  Democrats have failed, both critically and chronically despite years upon years of warnings.

JUST IN: The DC-10 tanker has dropped about 10,000 gallons of fire retardant to slow the fire in Brentwood.

Amazing.  The moment that Brentwood is threatened, a DC-10 loaded with flame retardant magically appears.  I hope OJ's house is OK.

Isn't that synonymous with arson but for the ignition?

Who is to blame if you gave the car keys to a 12 year old and told him to drive on the freeway? Or even if you told him not to drive on the freeway and he did anyway?
