It looks like a Mk-84 (2000#) bomb with a standard JDAM (not JDAM-ER) kit.

Forget Mariupol.

With Trump's new expansion thinking, I say we encourage the Russian people to depose Putin and his regime, and make it the 52nd state of the USA, right behind Canada.  Why think small with designs on Gaza for annexation.  I say, seize the largest country in the world.

In fact, with 200 countries in the world, let's offer every country in the world the opportunity to become part of the USA?  How many countries when asked would gladly say, yes, sign us up.  I would bet there would be a few.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

Russian advance on Ukraine slows by half as troop recruitment crisis deepens

Despite continued territorial gains near Kupiansk and Pokrovsk, Russia faces mounting difficulties replacing combat losses as recruitment efforts stall and previously mobilized reserves deplete.

Olena Mukhina  |  03/02/2025

Military expert Yevhen Dykyi told Radio NV that Russia’s advance in Ukraine has slowed significantly over the past month.

As of early February 2025, the military situation in various regions of Ukraine and Russia’s Kursk remains fluid, with both sides engaged in continued clashes. Ukrainian forces are focusing on reinforcing defensive positions and integrating new technologies, while Russian forces persist in their offensive operations across multiple fronts.

Despite the reduced pace, Russian forces continue to seize Ukrainian territory, leveraging their vast manpower. The most vulnerable areas remain Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast and Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast.

However, Dykyi highlighted a critical issue for the Russian military—severe difficulties in replacing wounded and killed soldiers.

“While the intensity of fighting remains high, Russia’s advance has slowed by about 50%. Their forces are gradually depleting, but the key word is gradually. They mobilized a massive number of troops, but replacing losses has become a major challenge. Recruitment has nearly stopped,” he explained.

Dykyi noted that Russia still has some reserves from the 2022 mobilization, but most of those troops have already been lost. The Russian army now relies primarily on contract soldiers drawn by financial incentives.  .  .  .

Russia to Trump: Back off Ukraine’s rare earths

The Kremlin delivers a warning to the U.S. president over his military aid proposal for Kyiv.

Elena Giordano  |  February 4, 2025  |  1:07 pm CET

A senior Russian official slammed United States President Donald Trump's proposal that he could militarily aid Ukraine in exchange for access to its valuable mineral rights.

"If we call things as they are, this is a proposal to buy help — in other words, not to give it unconditionally, or for some other reasons, but specifically to provide it on a commercial basis," Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters Tuesday.

"It would be better of course for the assistance to not be provided at all, as that would contribute to the end of this conflict," he added, about a war that was instigated by Russia.

Trump announced Monday that he was “looking to do a deal with Ukraine” in which the U.S. would provide military aid for the war against Russian President Vladimir Putin in exchange for Ukraine’s "rare earths."

"We’re investing hundreds of billions of dollars. They have great rare earths, and I want security of the rare earths," he said in Washington, adding that Ukraine is "willing to do it."

Ukraine has strategic reserves of titanium, lithium, graphite and uranium, which is crucial for its future economic stability  .  .  .

Apparently the NK troops haven't been seen on the battlefield since mid-January.

NK hadn't had any combat experience for 70 years, and there were huge language and operational problems ... 1/3 of the troops NK sent (12,000) are already casualties.

Even Kim probably had enough of that nonsense. Putin can waste more of his own troops, he's done such a great job already.
FreeRussia is controlled by a small group of anti-free-speech Nazis - no wonder its donations are down!!

...

Absolutely brilliant!

This also impacts China as they have stopped selling rare earth minerals to the U.S.

The pootin puffers are hardest hit.

FTA: According to the publication, no more than 48 hours pass between the release of the drone and the strike.

So, within 48 hours after they roll off the assembly line, the drones are enroute to their target.

It doesn't look like that tank had any ammo. There weren't any secondary explosions as it burned.

Also, there were a lot of "passengers" (infantry) on the tank that abandoned the tank after the first hit.

Perhaps the tank was exiting the fight.
