The judge is way past the point of no return on conducting a legal, ethical trial.

If they vote to convict, it will not stand on appeal. But their political goal will already have been accomplished.

Besides the judge getting rich, will there be any actual legal consequences for the judge being so corrupt?

Thought it was deliberated here and cited by Dershowitz that a judge somewhere had already successfully switched out a juror who was considered a holdout of sorts.   :shrug:

There was an audible gasp when Merchan announced that “I received a note from the jury saying that they have a verdict.

I think everyone, myself included, thought it was far more likely that the jury was asking for another instruction or even being dismissed for the day, rather than a Verdict.

A verdict…I can’t tell you what it is but I do know this: the DA, the defense lawyers and the defendant are all feeling very nervous…I know this from waiting for many verdicts…

There is a nervous energy engulfing the courtroom as we sit here and wait for our 12 fellow New Yorkers.

Will they take the word of someone who perjured themself to this very jury, likely multiple times, Michael Cohen, or will they see the facts of the case for what they are, worthy of an acquittal of Donald J Trump.

NBC News: The Trump table has gone from smiling to looking sour. They are very serious now and Trump has his arms crossed in front of his chest.
