The context of Exodus 23, specifically verses 23-33, is speaking of the Amorites, Canaanites, etc. that Israel was commanded to wipe out and displace:

The reason Israel was commended not to make treaties with those peoples was:

Hamas has revealed the names of the four Israeli hostages who will be freed on Saturday in the second exchange since the cease-fire deal between the Jewish state and terror group went into effect last week.

Hamas announced Friday that soldiers Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy and Liri Albag will be released after spending more than 15 months in captivity in exchange for additional Palestinian prisoners — as part of the first phase of the agreement reached with Israeli officials.

The exchange is expected to take place on Saturday afternoon.

Palestinian terror group Hamas said on Friday it would free the father of the youngest hostages seized in its Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel and two others including a dual US citizen in the next exchange of hostages for Palestinian prisoners.

Yarden Bibas, Keith Siegel and Ofer Kalderon will be handed over on Saturday, Hamas armed wing spokesperson Abu Obeida said in a post on his Telegram channel.

Yarden Bibas is the father of baby Kfir, only nine months old when he was kidnapped, and Ariel, who was four at the time of the cross-border attack.

There was no word on the fate of Kfir and Ariel, or on their mother Shiri, who was taken at the same time. Hamas said in late 2023 that they had been killed by Israeli bombardment, in the early months of the Gaza war.

Video of their capture began circulating soon after they were seized. It showed a terrified Shiri clutching her small children in a blanket as they were bundled into captivity surrounded by terror assailants.

Hamas released three more hostages Saturday, including the first American to be freed under the current cease-fire deal and the father of the terror group’s youngest captive.

Yarden Bibas, and Ofer Kalderon, 54, were received in Khan Younis around 8:30 a.m. local time by the International Committee of the Red Cross, which has been coordinating the handovers in the Gaza Strip with Hamas.

Keith Siegel, a US-Israeli dual citizen from Chapel Hill, NC, was released nearly two hours later in Gaza City.

“Finally, after 484 long, terrifying days and nights, full of immense worry for our father, we can breathe again,” Siegel’s family said in a statement, according to the Times of Israel.

“Thank you, President Trump, for bringing our father back to us. There are now 79 hostages who are also waiting to be reunited with their loved ones. Our hope rests with you.”
