It's a damned shame that the McCainiacs in Arizona and Mitch McConnell have been allowed to do to this great lady. If my saying that offends you tough s&*t!

Offend.  How would that offend.

It's the dynamic of Arizona.

The McStains in the state could not hold back Donald Trump, nor prevent pick-ups in the AZ state house and AZ senate.

More than anything, Lake regularly irritated people who otherwise would have supported a conservative candidate.

She lost.  That's what is offensive.

Gallego is headed to the senate and he's going to be tough to root out.  That is even more offensive.

If she tries to run for another office, I am going to be really offended.

You follow her campaign ?

You don't sideswipe the head of the state GOP and not piss people off.

Lake is going away quietly.  If she thought there was a chance she got cheated.....she'd be in there fighting.

Or....maybe.....she realizes that she's cried wolf just a few to many times.

The offset isn't new for her.

Call what you want, you can also call Gallego....Senator Gallego.

And that is B.S.  Never should have happened.

But you keep screaming it.  We need more people talking down elections around here.  I really helps us get people elected.

Are you not the one who keeps saying we are a blue state in spite of being countered continually ?

I think you lost that argument on election night.

And the McStains only have power when we give it to them.  T-boning the head of the state party (and consequently being booed off the stage by the state committeeman), continuing to scream fraud.....instead of just pursuing it in court, and ignoring outer counties all cost her.

Oh she lost alright.

From what I recall, you don't live here.

She was polling in the toilet long before Nov 5.

I am surprised it was as close as it was.

And let's be clear......If you look through this forum, I started a couple of threads on Gallego (and what a lying jerk he is).

I wish Lake would have won.  Besides his crazy ideology, it is embarrassing.

But you don't get to do things "your way" and not expect consequences.

I don't reside in Arizona myself but I have close relatives who live in a VERY red area of the state so I'm kept in the loop constantly. You can ignore the BS that occurs in YOUR county if you want but I will not!

I say it is blue!

Then you'd have to say Kansas is blue too.

They've had more democratic governors in the last 40 years than republicans...by far (and one of the repubican governors was as milquetoast RINO as you can get).

They've had democratic SOS.

Why ?

Because of the massive infighting in the GOP.  I lived it for many years as a PC there.

And we have the same thing here.

In fact, as we go into our LD elections, we have the same thing going on.  It is incredible that people want to blame others for their not performing when the answer is right before them.

Trump rocked it.

We now have stronger majorities in the state house and state senate.  We are developing great candidates.

Hobbs has not chance in 2026.....

And when Mark Kelly comes up for re-election......Mark Lamb is going to steamroll his sorry fanny.

The party is recovering, I hope from the influence of John McStain.  We talk about it all the time.

Tuesday was great.

But we are just getting started.

Have fun in court.

Sounds like Lake won't be there with you.

You and your relatives can ignore the polling all you want.  The writing was on the wall long before November 5th.  Trump was leading.  She was trailing....badly.

Those are the facts.

Place the blame where it lies.  She told McCain Republicans to “get the hell out.”  So, a sizable chunk of moderates went over to Gallego.  She made enemies on the right also.  A capable politician would be more strategic.  Trump threw a bone to every wing of the party.  He even spoke at the Libertarian convention.

My POV was from an independent observer, based on 50 years of my own political obsession, I can honestly and accurately say that  people just normally don't skip down ballot at a rate of 5%.  But....   I'll leave, and you can stick this thread where the sun doesn't shine.  Was getting bored with it anyway.

He was running adds with verified republicans saying they would vote for him.

He tried to come off as being more centrist.  He changed his position on the border and it appears to have appealed to many in the middle.

There was little she could do as she had painted herself into a corner on so many issues......issues she seemed so capable of handling in 2022.

I guess those polls just didn't give you a hint of what might happen.

Polls say whatever the people who commission them want them to say.

You have a nice day.

In this case it was polls that showed Trump up Big and Lake down Big.

That doesn't jive with your claim.  Not at all.

I voted for Kari but I don't trust her. I can't reconcile her intense support of Obama, to the point of going door to door campaigning for him back in 2012, and what she says now. One of those two things isn't what it claims to be.

That I can understand @DB but the blatant, in you face, FRAUD pisses me off! What pisses me off even more is that the legislature isn't doing a damned thing about it.

He tried to come off as being more centrist.  He changed his position on the border and it appears to have appealed to many in the middle.

That is exactly what Kamala did, keeping TDS Rinos around and moving to the middle.

Didn't help Harris, so why does that help Gallego?

Bad argument to say why Lake lost.

I'm the guy who has repeatedly claimed that Arizona is a blue state.

And I stand by what I've said -- regardless of the fact that Mr. Trump won there by a good margin on Nov. 5th.

It seems impossible for Republicans to win the Senate there.

And as Bigun posted above in reply 307:

If Arizonians are "red", why can't they elect Republicans in their own state?

Do you think Kansas is a blue state ?
