Biden did not want "victory" on either side. The American view of war is always stalemate ... never actual victory. The same policy can be seen in Israel with Hamas.

World war two Germany defeated followed the next day with - Russian Cold War - No Victory
Korea ... Armistice - No Victory
Vietnam ... abandoned from rooftops - No Victory
Iraq ... pull out - No Victory
Afghanistan - Worst defeat in American history - No Victory
Ukraine/Russia ... Russia allowed to attack Ukraine, Ukraine not allowed to respond in kind and attack Russia - ongoing
Israel attacked by Hamas ... Israel "allowed" to respond but never to actually win - ongoing

My proposition is that America has NEVER WON any modern war. They fought to stalemate and then gave up.

Look at the pattern, and since WWII and the advent of nukes, we haven't had a 'win'. I'm not counting the operations in Panama and Grenada, because those were more limited.

Korea, VietNam, Kuwait (while a 'win', was limited in objective and failed to eliminate the source of the problem, setting up...) Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Israel...
Definitive victory has not been on the table for a while.

"Collapsed" under the "weight" of a Ukrainian cruise missile or JDAM, :silly: . There are 3 other bridges across this river: one is near the border of Ukraine, which Russia won't be able to use; the other two have limited weight-bearing capability and are on small roads, not very useful. Apparently, Russia has built a pontoon bridge near the Glushkova bridge, but it is of limited capacity and in an obviously vulnerable location. Ukraine has basically isolated a significant area from Russian reinforcements.

The destruction of the Pantsir near the Kerch Strait Bridge takes one more such system out of Russia's operational inventory. It MAY also presage attacks on the bridge itself or nearby supporting facilities.
