For my Mimosas, I use cheap-ass California Sparkling White, with Sunny-D-Lite.  No point in ruining good bubbly.

^^^^this^^^^
Add orange juice to sparkling wine and it's an excuse to have some alcohol for breakfast.  FWIW, lest I be accused of shaming others, I am guilty of such.

Actually, Bloody Mary is a great breakfast drink, and it comes with celery so it's good for you.

@Bigun, I hope that isn't a long term statement. This place is a better place with you. And I mean that sincerely.

Thank you for those kind words @DB I don't plan on going anywhere but will not participate in the bickering.  My purpose is to do what I can to move the ball in a conservative direction regardless of the current circumstance and, to reiterate, do not understand how the constant bickering contributes to that.

You can make your own version of course but:

Mimosas are supremely simple bubbly cocktails made with sparkling wine and orange juice. They’re light, fizzy and easy to sip.

When I first started dating my hubby his family invited me over for Easter brunch.  We started at 10:00 after the church service and they went through a case of champagne drinking Mimosas by noon. I had to take a nap by 1:00.  Those were the good ole days!

Huh... Not much for that sort of thing... all my fizzy stuff is barley pop.

Other than hair-of-the-dog, never been much for alcohol in the morning. The singular exception was Baileys in coffee... I was building a rock wall at a fancy property, and the owner came out to give me Baileys and coffee in a china cup with a saucer... Kinda funny, but he and I hit it off and it became a regular thing every morning. After that, I had quite an affinity, so I bought a bottle of Baileys and kept it under the seat in my truck, and would top off my coffee on my rounds...

Loved it, I did. But over time I came to realize that 10 o'clock would come around every day and I was so bombed that I couldn't slap my ass with either hand.

So sadly, I had to let the Baileys go. Still indulge from time to time, but now it is in a mocha, and is after dinner. One of my favorite things.

I ain't got no real drinking alcohol to share, but I lucked up at the local dollar general and found two huge 32oz bottles of substitute corona killer (91% alcohol). Let the good times begin...

Thanks...

I try so hard here to make everyone happy....I have had people give me ultimatums that they would leave unless I ban people...I have had a what I supposed a dear friend leave and start her own forum for Trump fans only yet she lets people in that she has told me she couldn't stand and wanted them banned...the hypocrisy is breathtaking...

I have had enough of this shit of walking on a tightrope trying to please...All I can say if you hate it here just leave you don't contribute anything here but angst and stomach pains for me.

I can't take it anymore.

@mystery-ak

Myst, you have been an amazing site owner, who has had the patience and vision to provide a forum that allows all sides of the conservative faction to cuss, discuss, and parse the issues of the day.  Don't let the one bad actor ruin your day.  There are jerks like Arneflunkin who would like nothing more to make TBR a carbon copy version  of FR.

There are plenty of us who want to look at Trump objectively, and will comment on the good, and bring up the bad if necessary.  Then there are those like Flunkin who have no abiity to see any wrong by the guy.  He and few others here like him have no objectivity on matters, and that is a shame.

I do want you to know you are appreciated here.

Here is the quote in the article....  (in quotes)

“If we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better, just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work, some of them go to work, but they get better, and then when you do have a death, like you’ve had in the state of Washington, like you had one in California, I believe you had one in New York,"

I didn't say that it "backed up the headline."

I said it was word soup that needed an interpreter to make it clear as to what he was actually trying to say. (It is, and it does).

The part about your being the interpreter was a joke.

End of discussion.
I link in your statement(which I notice you have removed already from this thread), so the joke's on you.

Nothing in the statement suggests people should go to work as the headline suggests.

It is fake news.

What bothers me is that half the time I don't know what Trump is talking about.  When he makes a prepared speech, Trump sounds presidential, but off the cuff -- I just scratch my head and do a "say what?"  The trouble is that he leaves what he says open to an almost infinite number of interpretations.  And you know, the liberals and their media allies are going to pick the worst possible interpretation.

If people assume Trump was saying they could go to work if they are sick, it could make this outbreak into a major disaster.  This administration must be clear in what it says about the virus.

I said this in another thread -- Trump has appointed Mike Pence to run the government's response to this virus.  He should then let Pence do all the talking.  One clear voice so there is no ambiguity.

Only if you like tomato juice. I personally don’t. Give me a mimosa any day.

I'm not that crazy about plain tomato juice.   But I do enjoy an occasional bloody mary made with spicy V8, worcestershire, salt, pepper and a good vodka.   Good for the morning after.   But yeah, my go-to drink in spring/summer is mimosa.

I haven't removed anything on this thread.  If anything I said was deleted, then a Mod must have done it (though nothing I said was offensive, so you might have been thinking of someone else's post).

At any rate, I never said that the headline was right, or that the article was fair, nor did I imply that.  (In fact I think I agreed that it wasn't an accurate article).

I was talking about the confusion of the quote itself.  And my point remains the same....

If what is in the quote that I cited is what Trump really said, it is confusing.  And it is.

That is all I ever said here.

Now go pick a fight with someone else.  After the chaos of last night, and the stunning attack on @mystery-ak , I don't want to be part of any fighting without purpose here.  I will fight for principles, but not because someone else feels like fighting over nothing.

That isn't at all what he said. Geez. He said some people's symptoms may be so mild, they won't be aware they're sick, and will continue to go to work.

@mountaineer

He has to know by this time that anything he says is going to be "spun" by the left to benefit them.

He needs to just shut up about it unless asked in a press conference. Even then he should have an authority on viruses standing by to answer any questions.

This place is a toxic TDS dump.

I disagree.
It is a nice place!

Most of us like Trump.
Most of us don't trust any politician 100%.
Most of us haven't trusted the MSM in years
All of us are more conservative than we are liberal, but we do argue to what degree our individual levels of conservatism are at any given time.

After rereading I also can agree with that.  I also listened to Pence.  He is much more professional.  The President should clarify and say if people are sick they shouldn't go to work.

@Chosen Daughter

Pence is also a career professional politician.

Mimosa vs Bloody Mary.

Drinking too many of either is bad for my stomach.

Both the tomato juice and the orange juice mess with my stomach in larger quantities.

2 max of either of them.

This is probably a good thing.......

Unfortunately, several on this site have same objectives.

Naw,just Bush-Bots pining for the days of old, when there was a metrosexual mama's boy in the WH taking orders from his globalist mama.

With every move he makes,Trump makes Boy Jorge look more and more like the "weak sister" he really was,and they just can't deal with it.

I used to call them "The Biddy Brigade".
