Hmmm...he blames the U.S. for the Norks inability to keep up their end of any bargain...then blames the U.S. for crappy Russian relations.

I see a trend here.

Funny how that happens isn't it?

Trust, but verify.

Unless of course it's Trump exclaiming to the world that "There is no longer any Nuclear Threat from North Korea" - THEN we were lectured that we must take their word for it - simply because Trump decreed it so, and now that the Norks are reneging we are told it was simply more underwater dimensional chess strategy on Trump's part.

Sorry - the guy in the Oval Office is as big a numbskull dufus as Bush II was if not moreso - because he has zero self-control of his thumbs or his mouth.

Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

Putin over an hour late to summit with Trump
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/foreign/putin-over-an-hour-late-to-summit-with-trump

That's an old Obama ploy.  Another thing I like about Trump ... he is on time and doesn't indulge in childish tactics like making people wait to show his importance.

Sorry I can't trust a former head of the KGB.

And, one who thinks the greatest tragedy of the last century was the fall of the Soviet Union.

He was late to the meeting with QE.  Left that old lady standing there for quite some time.  It may not have been his fault, but just saying.

I knew someone would come up with that.  But Trump is not habitually late and there must have been a glitch there.  The Queen is not someone Trump would intentionally offend.

I don't usually watch Trump on TV so I don't know if he's usually on time or not, but did happen to have that on when it occurred.

From what I saw on TV and am reading on Fox, they had a successful meeting.  They didn't become blood brothers and probably don't totally trust each other, but it was a start.

There was even a playful moment when Putin gave Trump a soccer ball and Trump remarked that his kid would like it.  Trump then tossed it into the audience where the ever glamorous First Lady caught it.

John Kelly was, once again, upset not by the comments, but over the local breakfast.

Is just a coincidence Melanie wears yellow raincoat when near Putin or is the 'Pee Tape' real?

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

Actually the habitually showing up late and leaving people waiting was a Clinton thing.  It was a rarity for Obama to make an appearance anywhere compared to his predecessors.

Care to address the issues of contention, or like always - you ForeverTrump® acolytes will just toss your 'you-are-100%-with-us-in-support-or-you-are-100%-an-enemy-of-the-country' bullshit?   Issues of legitimate contention noted in this thread like these:

[Trump] blames the U.S. for the Norks inability to keep up their end of any bargain...then blames the U.S. for crappy Russian relations.

Is that 'fake' and 'false' according to your blankie that you like to toss?

Or how about when your fellow 'hubbers' state that the world is ready for a 'new era of Russian–American cooperation', and Trump's own statements are noted that:

But not German-Russian cooperation.  I mean, we just heard how buying energy from them is the worst thing in the world.

You ForeverTrumps® just don't see the silly idiotic hypocrisy in your positions do you?  Because obviously whatever Trump says or does IN THE MOMENT is golden,  but let's discard and forget what he said or tweeted last week for the photo-op currently taking place while declaring it a 'great and wonderful thing' without any regard to the total inconsistent chaos being sown.

There was even a playful moment when Putin gave Trump a soccer ball and Trump remarked that his kid would like it.  Trump then tossed it into the audience where the ever glamorous First Lady caught it.

Fake news:  the First Lady did not catch it.  Huntsman got the ball on the bounce and handed it to Melania.  It clearly bounces away from the First Lady on the video:

Quote
The president held the ball up for photos and noted it would go to 12-year-old Barron Trump, who is a huge soccer fan and plays on a local Washington D.C. team.

'We do host it and we hope we do as good as a job. That's very nice. That will go to my son Barron. We have no question. In fact, Melania, here you go,' Trump said, tossing her the ball.

She missed.

It bounced on the floor and was caught by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who was sitting next to the first lady in the front row. He handed it to her.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5959669/Trump-throws-soccer-ball-Melania-Putin-presser-says-gift-Barron.html

CORRECTION:  Ambassador Huntsman caught the ball not Pompeo.

It’s foolish to pretend we’re still living in Cold War 1950’s.

There are no bigger capitalists than ex-pat Russians living in America, of which there are millions. While the internet continues breaking down barriers it’s time we moved on. The world is ready for a new era of Russian–American cooperation.

Russia is being run by the same people that engineered the Revolution 101 years ago. Are there so few of us on TBR that have an understanding of recent world history?

I'm not looking for any new era of cooperation with Russian oligarchs and KGB alumni.

It's ok to trust neither Putin or Brennan, and I'm not ready to trust Trump either.

@Night Hides Not

You have to remember there are people here in the Trump fan club who also like Putin because they think he's a "strong leader" and he acts in the same way a U.S. president should act.

In fact in the recent past those same people have defended the Trump/Putin bromance.

It's not that they don't have an understanding of recent history...they are just trying to make recent history fit their rose colored political purview.

If I had to pick one of the two to trust it would be Putin sad as that is.

You know "neither one" is an option too.  It's not a binary choice.

That’s how it is in Trump Nation: most choices are either/or. We are living in a binary world. Just damn, that’s not the way I was raised or educated.

And I’ve tried mightily over the past 30+ years to raise my children to use their brains before reacting to a situation.

The education I received at Gonzaga enabled me to be an independent thinker. Of course, I’ve been wrong on a number of occasions, but you won’t find me in the binary world as practiced by Trump and his merry band of Orange Brigadiers.
