@roamer_1   I don't know much about your lifestyle and you may be able to live a life off the grid.  The rest of us depend on things like jobs and keeping our country safe from illegal aliens and government over-spending.  Trump is trying to do something about issues that matter to Americans.

ROTFLMAO!!!
No, he's not. He's built a nice place where anything he does or doesn't do has a scapegoat to blame.
And he has villified any press that does not bow to him, and has glorified any press that glorifies him.
How anybody can figure out what's shit and what's apple butter is entirely beyond me.
Their fake news, or his fake news... Same damn difference.

What is true is that you have a liberal president with a cabinet full of Goldmann Sachs imports spending 3T more than Obama did. Everything even remotely conservative is done by EO, making it entirely transitory, and the actual legislation we're stuck with is anything BUT Conservative.

And with the adoration his accolytes have, no matter what he does, he is off the hook... All he has to do is look sad and shake his head, and say 'if it wasn't for [Insert bagholder here], we'd have got it done'... AND YOU'LL BELIEVE HIM.

I don't know how virtuous you are but making the kind of judgment you are making about another man is a dangerous proposition in the eyes of God.

What bloody pap is this @Emjay ? no wonder. without judgement, you'll fall for any ol thing that comes along. OF COURSE Christians are to judge others. What a silly thing to say.

This thread addresses a NYT story.  Maybe you wanna point it out to @truth_seeker
The CNN interview is pertinent to this issue.  You might want to watch it.

No, @Emjay - I don't think he's a liar. I KNOW he's a liar, and you do too. I have an open challenge to anyone to find just 10 minutes in any speech wherein he doesn't lie - That challenge has gone unmet since the election, to this very day. Because it can't be done. The only way one can believe otherwise is a deliberate suspension of disbelief, which I will never do.

I don't know what "find just 10 minutes in any speech wherein he doesn't lie" even means.  It sounds a bit unhinged, so it's not worth my time.

But here's what matters to most voters:  This President is determined to keep his promises, and so far he has a terrific track record.  Here's a list just off the top of head --

- Lower taxes
- Fewer stagnating business regulations
- Build up and repair of our military
- Out of the Paris Climate Accord
- Out of the Iran deal
- Out of TPP
- Renegotiated or out of NAFTA
- Staying tough on border security-- against relentless globalist headwinds
- Return of jobs in the private sector
- Obamacare -- but for one vote it would have been history.  So now the President is dismantling it
- Fair trade for the American worker (think G7)
- US Capitol in Israel is now in Jerusalem
- Pro-life with a plan.

And the likely taming of Rocket Man is a just wonderful and inspiring surprise.

This is what matters to the President's supporters, both the ones who brought him to the Oval Office and those who will join and help carry him back to it in 2020.

But Ms. Anders, 46, a Republican from suburban Loudoun County, Va., with a law degree, a business career, and not a stitch of “Make America Great Again” gear in her wardrobe, is moved to defend him anyway.
“All nuance and all complexity — and these are complex issues — are completely lost,” she said, describing “overblown” reactions from the president’s critics, some of whom equated the Trump administration’s policy of separating migrant children and parents to history’s greatest atrocities.
“It makes me angry at them, which causes me to want to defend him to them more,” Ms. Anders said.

This speaks to me. I didn't vote for Trump, but once elected I hoped for the best. The more hysterical the leftists have become the more I wish I had voted for him. Now I find I'm defending him by usually asking "what specific policy is he pursuing that is so bad?".

If he runs in 2020 I'll vote for him.

I liken it to WWII, we know there must have been millions in the military who hated FDR's guts,  but they also knew losing to the Nazis would be a much worse fate.

Same here, the thought of the Democrats gaining power should be hateful to anyone, regardless of how they feel about Trump.

The greatest reason I didn't vote for Trump was there was nothing in his history that indicated he would actually try to govern right of center. He was a Rat for most of his life and grew up and did business in a radical left stronghold. His performance so far has been more than a pleasant surprise.

The latest hysteria over illegal immigration is going to break in his favor. Right now the media cartel and the Rats have a lot of people hysterical over "the children", but eventually the truth will come out. We can not take in the 150 million people who want to come here and survive as a nation. We need to control our borders and control the flow of immigrants, middle America understands this.

Also, chasing people out of restaurants protesting at their houses and the PC culture run amok is going to backfire on the leftists. Deep down we all know we could be the next target and we don't like it.

What Trump has done, more than any other politician could have done, is to remove the masks from them and revealed the true enemies of this country that they really are.

They showed flashes of it when W was in office,  but the gloves are completely off, now.

That's it!

We are being given a binary choice go with the radical collectivist left, or go with the populist nationalist right. I may not always agree with the populists, but I sure as heck love my country so I will happily go with the Right which want's to save the Republic.

I only have one question for you.  Do you want to be part of the restoration of this country or against it?  Right now, like him or not, this President is trying to keep us afloat.

I don't think that's true. This looks like Dubya all over again, only on steroids.
Funny, ain't it, that I don't believe an international globalist, New York City liberal, ain't really changed his spots after all, just because he said he did... That goes directly to his lying all the time. Why do you trust a damn thing he has to say?

I honestly think he's focused exclusively on trying to keep himself afloat.  He hasn't gotten Mexico to pay for the wall.  He hasn't locked her up.   His tariffs are starting a trade war, which isn't good for the country.  He's performing lots of deficit spending.  Instead of "draining the swamp", he's appointed supposed (per Trump supporters) "Deep State" operators such as Jeff Sessions, Rod Rosenstein, and Christopher Wray.

I was one that spent some time walking the pavement and going door to door to help get "W" re-elected.  Yes, he was definitely a disappointment as he did nothing to help curtail the influx of illegal immigrants into this country.  However, I don't recall him being as vocal as our current president and pushing for a wall and immigration reform, so, I really can't agree in comparing Trump to "W".

President Trump promised to build a wall.  The House who holds the purse strings has refused to give him funding.  That is not his fault.  He's attempting now to implement different immigration laws and enforce existing law.  RINO's and liberal mental midgets are opposing him.  IMHO he's making attempts to follow through on his promises where illegal immigration is concerned.

IMHO, the problem lies more so with our Senators and Representatives than with this President.  Had they given him the $$$ to build the darn wall as he asked for months ago, I don't think we as a country would be in the current heated discussion of deportation without due process and separating kids from their irresponsible parents as the majority wouldn't be entering this country to begin with!

So ... I choose to stand with this President in his attempts to follow through with what he promised.  I'd rather not stand by the RINO's, liberals and MSM in their attempts to derail his attempts.

Meanwhile ... he's got azzholes like Sessions, Rosenstein and Mueller trying to take him down with bogus claims of collusion, obstruction and talks of impeachment while Clinton, Bammy and their cronies get a free pass.  To me that speaks volumes as to whom I'd rather stand by.

And that is assuming (big assumption, at this point).... that there actually WILL be more GOPers elected to Congress this November.  So we're supposed to just wait till then now?
