Well, I can certainly live with the changes or repeals you itemized for the military.  Is that enough of a change to trickle down to the general society?  Or is society at large a lost cause?

As naive as it may sound I don't believe society at large is a lost cause as long as one person is brave enough to stand up for what this country was founded on.

What needs to happen is actually the opposite of what you asked.

Effect the change in society as a whole and the change will happen in the military.

Same exact thing is true of politics.  No change from Socialism is going to happen until the culture and the society is changed back to what was intended for liberty to exist and be maintained.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
I'm going to make a controversial post here and I expect to be verbally abused ... but..

I think conservatives hurt our cause by getting all hung up on things that don't really matter like the current fad of young people worrying about what gender they are and bathroom stuff.

Those things may have some minor importance but it's minor and jumping all over them in a hysterical panic makes us seem like nut cases.

The one thing that does matter ... the thing that weakens the very moral fiber of our society is this rampant abortion.

We should concentrate on stopping that and laugh at all the other stuff.
I will disagree, in part. Hula hoops, pet rocks, beanie babies, fidget spinners, are all fads. They hurt no one except for the occasional person who does it wrong or goes nuts. Such excesses or lack of common sense would merely find another outlet, and again affect few despite the widespread acceptance of the fad.

While tinkering with social fabric may seem to move in waves, those effects run far deeper and last far longer than simple gadgets. Sixty genders? No. Him, Her, and "other" should suffice, and that would take in those few natural hermaphrodites out there. No need to redo the signs on the bathroom wall, no need to permit, much less 'celebrate' confusing children about what their plumbing means. If the boy wants to wear a skirt, get him a kilt and let him dress like Robert the Bruce or Bonnie Prince Charlie, don't tell him he's a girl in a boy's body.

It is important, because promoting confusion in children is never a good idea, and last generation's confusion was whether or not to be 'gay'. For most kids, there is no confusion, but there is a loss of trust, fundamental trust, not only in the sanity and judgement of their parents, but of their elders and even those in authority who cater to this nonsense. Nip that in the bud, and the little nippers will turn out okay. When parents embrace false teachings, who will the children look to for guidance?
That affects the very fabric of our society, and our culture. It is, ultimately, a moral issue.

Celebrate Bruce Jenner's self-mutilation and it only adds to the confusion. I can't recall how many times I sat down to breakfast and that man's picture was on the Wheaties box in front of me. I feel betrayed, personally, and I doubt I am the only one. Genetically, no matter what wounds or how they were inflicted, he is still male.

But that is just a reminder to be careful who you regard as a 'hero'.  I have few, in this day and age, especially among the living. Kipling had that cold : "If all men count with you, but none too much."

Anyway one thing we do agree upon: Abortion should end yesterday. Systematic murder, especially murder for hire, cheapens the most fundamental God-given Right; that to Life, itself, and without which all other Rights are moot.

Have a pleasant day.

You can laugh if you want but the problem is the Marxist Income Tax and the Johnson Rule in particular.  Until Our spiritual leaders summon the courage to say and do what is right and put that before the tax status of their donations nothing much is going to change for the better in this country.

@Smokin Joe

Brilliant.

Ex 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. (KJV)

More to it than most people contemplate... It extrapolates into kith and kin, forefathers, Even into the forefathers of our nation and 'we the people' across generations - Is it honoring them, what we do now? Will our days be long in this land that God gave us?

That's a long ponder, right there.

And I think it is the primary bulwark wrt why these social changes gain so little ground (comparatively) in rural America - Maybe more so than religion... We do as our daddy did, and mamma always does know best. We might go far afield, but we always return to what we know is good.

Thanks, but I also recall that one of the communist goals from 1963 was to destroy the family. Then the State can become the arbiter, the source of 'wisdom', the ultimate authority, especially sans any deity but the State.

In rural America, those who have made things work are revered--our elders--for they know how to live a good life--or it is readily evident they do not. They pass on the history, the traditions, the recipes, the heirlooms, no matter how humble, that help define who we are, and that knowledge and those humble items are revered. They know the land, if we are lucky enough to grow up on it, and what grows where, and how to farm it. They know what game is there and how to hunt it. They know so much else that is interesting because they sought wisdom to go with their knowledge, and when the sun goes down, they know who to thank for it all, and do.

When His stars come out and we look into that bottomless night sky, we are reminded of how small we are in a vast universe, and what we would be without Him. It keeps us closer, and reminds us how greatly we are Blessed.

Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

Don't ask don't tell was done away with three years ago thanks to the Jug Eared Idiot. Women are now allowed into combat arms and are even going to Ranger School and allowed to repeat phases as many times as needed and helped unfairly in other areas where they struggle.

Gays are allowed to "marry" and any Chaplain who stands in opposition because it violates their religious beliefs are threatened with Courts Martial if they don't perform the service.

If you wake up one morning and suddenly decide you identify as a woman as you stand there peeing in the bathroom you're allowed to continue to serve and the military will not only recognize you as a woman they will pay for your surgical transition. Same thing goes for those that decide they identify as a man while buying tampons while they're on their period.

So yes I'm affected by this on a daily basis. The entire military is affected by the destruction of good order and discipline that is wrought by these idiotic decisions.

We won't be able to fight our way out of a wet paperback in a couple decades...but we'll sure as hell be diverse and politically correct.

The decisions are bad and ridiculous but I was asking if you have ever been actually affected personally by an unpleasant situation brought about by these rules.

I was asking that because I am trying to make the point that most of the time we don't actually encounter anything like that.

Every horrible thing ... every little baker who is sued is exploited and posted on Facebook and we all get indignant but it is like the airline thing.  Millions of people fly and most fly without incident.  Hundreds of thousands of bakers exist with no problem.

I'm not saying it's okay but if we ignore it, it might go away.  It IS a fad in my opinion.

Please don't kid yourself into thinking these things are a fad...this war against our culture has been going on full force for at least 50 years.  And now that the 60's radicals are in places of power in D.C. and elsewhere...the pace has picked up.  Every Liberal that gets elected to President...every Liberal majority that takes over Congress moves the ball closer to the goal line.

say what?   I thought they were fetuses or blobs of flesh.

You mean they ARE children???!!!!!    Why that means the left has been lying all these years and are knowingly murdering CHILDREN just because the female who helped spawn them doesn't want them.

Hey, if you prefer:

Contraception means wanted blobs of flesh.

Wanted blobs of flesh don't get aborted.

The point is that contraception is the key to reducing the number of abortions.   Effective contraception, affordable contraception.   I wish PP didn't perform abortions - but the Constitution gives women the liberty to decide for themselves whether to reproduce.   Whether a fetus is a "child" or a "blob of flesh" is a religious matter.   I know what I believe, and you know what you believe.   What we should all be able to agree on is that a couple's ability to plan a family is a good thing, because the children so produced are likely to be loved and nurtured.

Wrong.  If we ignore it (them and their agenda) it will only embolden them and it will get worse.
