You're obviously much smarter than me, but you don't have to rub it in.  888high58888

It's my nature to rub it in.  Deal with it.  888high58888

If I see someone quoting them, I don't read that post.  Even if it's a discussion I'm interested or actively involved in.  They cannot offend me any more, because I don't hear them.

There is a bridge too far, and that's where they go on ignore.  After that they can lie and malign all they want, I'm not even going to know about it.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, or what you should do.  I'm just saying that I have practically zero problems with personal attacks here.  My approach works for me.

I understand that it works, and for the most part, I agree.

My problem is when the issue is so great that I don't think it should be ignored.  (Like the one on this thread).

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on the detail.  However, since the last thing I want to do is cause trouble on this forum, I will report any future offenses, and try.......... TRY........... not to deal with them myself.

I think what I'll do is report these kinds of hideous attacks to the Mods and not respond at all.  There is no way that when one is personally smeared (as an individual or part of a group) that one can respond appropriately without involving the person who is doing the smearing.

What that means is, if the Mods aren't paying close enough attention, the smearer just gets away with maligning a large group of good people on the forum.

I have a hard time with that......

Yes please. Press report. We are not omnipresent. We do all get an email when a report is submitted and so  one of us can respond immediately, rather than several hours or days later when the damage is long done and it's carcass has started to smell.

Liberals are Malthusians at heart.   Do you know what Abortion,  Homosexuality,  Fake Women (transgenderism)   and a lot of other liberal policies have in common?

They prevent the creation of Children;  A condition Liberals have been worrying about since 1798.

They are anti-life.

@DiogenesLamp

That's a good point.

Not going to verbally abuse...but I will disagree.  :tongue2: And explain why.

Those things are abnormal...the whole transgender thing and all that goes along with it the gay "mafia and their radical agenda is just weird and should offend anyone with a lick of common sense.

The left is dedicated to breaking down the social norms that made this country what is for over 240 years now.  Family, faith, beliefs in personal freedoms, speech and individuality...those things are offensive to the 60's radicals that have emerged as the 21st Century Liberal Democrat.

So the left embraces and pushes as normal...things that are not normal...homosexuality....gay "marriage"...abortion on demand...atheism...use of illegal drugs...pedophilia political correctness..."hate speech"...reliance on the government for your every want and need...and on and on...they embrace these things and make them the political agenda of the DNC in some misbegotten effort to create the Socialist Utopia that every other Socialist nation has failed to create.

Conservatism....traditional family beliefs...a strong religious belief...the entire Bill of Rights are the enemy to these people and so they sat out on a long march over 50 years ago with the mission to destroy those things in order to rebuild the country from the destruction Liberalism inherently wreaks.  They know for the most part that they can't make these changes with adults because most adults are already set in their belief system and can't be manipulated and molded.

So they go for the children.

It started with taking prayer out of schools and it has morphed exponentially from there...and now we have generations that have been indoctrinated into Liberalism and their destructive belief system without even knowing it.  It's preached in our schools...in our colleges and on our television sets now via the MSM and like a cancer it has spread to the point it could prove fatal.

Conservatism and the belief in the things that made this country survive when others failed is the chemotherapy to beat the cancer of Liberalism.

So no...it's not a minor thing when we are appalled when a parent allows their 8 year old son to identify as a girl and cross dress them...its a disturbing sign of a much larger problem and threat to our country.

And its something we should neither accept or rationalize as a "minor" thing.

I know, I know.  You are right but you are letting the media and bollywood make you think this is much more prevalent than it actually is.

We are aware that abortion is prevalent and wrong but this kinda faddy media 'what kind of sex am I' stuff is not prevalent ... not at all.

If you didn't watch TV or go to movies, it would not affect your life.  It is a media created sensation and, while abhorrent, I think ranting about it is a waste of time that could better be spent on a real issue.

No it would still affect me because I'm in one of the places being used as a petri dish for the Liberal social experiments...the Military.

So even though I don't watch much live TV and listen mainly to music on Sirius XM it still effects me.

You say it does and you think it does, but does it?  Have you actually been affected by it in terms of your own service or simply because you know there is a 'don't ask, don't tell' policy.

If you didn't watch TV or go to movies, it would not affect your life.

Tell that to Melissa and Aaron Klein, Jack Phillips , Baronelle Stutzman, Andrew Cash, Betty and Richard Odgaard, Brian Klawiter, Kevin and Christie O’Connor , Cynthia and Robert Gifford, Jason and David Benham, Elaine and Jonathan Huguenot, Taeko Bufford and Diane Cervelli, Jim and Beth Walder, and Chris Penner.

A little leaven leavens the entire loaf.

The media simply is the tool to mix it thoroughly into the culture and society.

Ignoring it doesn't negate the fact it infects and grows.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

I will do that.

I have a difficult time sometimes because I feel like a tattletale, but I understand the problem (sort of!) that if offenses aren't reported you can't deal with them.

I just need to get into the habit of not feeling guilty at 'telling' on someone......

I too, took a couple of days off, Reported posts/Deletions, which I probably deserved, upset me, a little, but the acrimony here was reaching a terrible point and I was part of it, I love this place and would hate to see rational ADULT discussion shut down.

I've been here quite awhile and I could count on 1 hand the amount of posts I've reported to the Mods, but in order to keep this place sane and civil I have voluntarily elected to tone, way down, my NTism even it directly attacked, and use that REPORT Button, Let the Mods handle it that's what they get paid to do.

@musiclady You better not take another unexplained vacation - I missed you.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

Thank you!  I was really angry, and I learned early on in life that, with the temper I was born with, I need to walk away rather than confront.  (I used to hit other kids.  NOT a good idea!).

So I self-imposed a 'vacation' until I cooled down.  THEN TBR went down and I couldn't get back!

Like you, I just need to form a new habit and tattle.   :dx1:

Oddly enough (the irony of it is biting), FR's RF rules seem to be engaged... Don't make it personal.
So just like on the RF, indirect reply should be fine. Take 'you' out of your vocabulary, and address in the third person.
It requires one to be indirect, and tangential - But an artfully arranged post still gets the point across.

Actually, what I said here was entirely third person.  No "you" in my posts.

Still got me in trouble....

You say it does and you think it does, but does it?  Have you actually been affected by it in terms of your own service or simply because you know there is a 'don't ask, don't tell' policy.

Don't ask don't tell was done away with three years ago thanks to the Jug Eared Idiot. Women are now allowed into combat arms and are even going to Ranger School and allowed to repeat phases as many times as needed and helped unfairly in other areas where they struggle.

Gays are allowed to "marry" and any Chaplain who stands in opposition because it violates their religious beliefs are threatened with Courts Martial if they don't perform the service.

If you wake up one morning and suddenly decide you identify as a woman as you stand there peeing in the bathroom you're allowed to continue to serve and the military will not only recognize you as a woman they will pay for your surgical transition. Same thing goes for those that decide they identify as a man while buying tampons while they're on their period.

So yes I'm affected by this on a daily basis. The entire military is affected by the destruction of good order and discipline that is wrought by these idiotic decisions.

We won't be able to fight our way out of a wet paperback in a couple decades...but we'll sure as hell be diverse and politically correct.

It doesn't.

It's a spiritual problem that directly affects culture and society, which then affects politics.

Fix the moral problems on the spiritual level, then you fix the culture and society which then fixes the politics.

Our problem is attempting to do all of that backwards by making everything political, which just expands and grows government into the tyrannical Beast it is.

The political solution is not something any politician is brave enough to actually do that would be issue a repeal of all Obama Era changes to the military...to include reimplementation of DADT...barring transgenders from serving...pull women off of subs...the savings to the DoD on that last one alone would be in the hundreds of millions because the subs would have to undergo modifications.

Something like that would have to come from the President as an order do his SecDef who would have to them pass the orders to the different service secretaries and then send it out to the troops.

And then the POTUS would have to be willing to stand up to the slings and arrows and outcry from the Lib special interest groups that will rise up in anger.

I seriously doubt this particular genie will ever get out back in the bottle...but in all honesty it should have never been let out in the first place.

What you are implying is that one must have something dreadful to happen in order for it to 'affect me'.

I daresay the intentional permissiveness that allows one's daughter(in my case grand-daughters) to be placed into harms way does indeed affect me.  I will not simply stand by and allow a molestation to take place prior to acting.

Are the odds high it will happen?  Maybe not, but are certainly too high a risk in any case to go along with any idea to facilitate further.

Well, I can certainly live with the changes or repeals you itemized for the military.  Is that enough of a change to trickle down to the general society?  Or is society at large a lost cause?
