He wasn't.

Cronkite was a one-man commie sleeper cell who believed in one-world government.  My reference to him was part of a joke.

Since you brought it up, you go first

Radio and television on air and radio and TV news since 1989.

Military Public Affairs since 1992. I've conducted press conferences and briefed GO's...SES and DA civilians from Somalia to Afghanistan to Washington DC.

I've written Public Affairs Guidance and crisis management guidance for the U.S. and Australia that went as high as the Aussie Ministery of Defense.

I've escorted reporters for Fox...CNN International and CNN Turkey while they were covering the SACEUR in Turkey.

I've won multiple military journalism awards and recieved two Army Commendation Award related to my journalism awards.

I've been involved in media relations/public relations for one Presidential funeral (Ford) and one Inauguration (Obama)

I've also guided a Top 40 radio station to  #1 Arbitron ratings book across the board in not only the 18+ ratings demographic but the "money" demographic women 25-54 as well...allowingy station to become a Radio and Records reporting station for the first time in its 40 year history.

He has a subscription to a local paper and he once was an usher at a third cousin removed's wedding.

That's probably pretty close to the truth.

LOL God no!  I used very little consultant input.

Like political consultants...radio consultants are the only people that get paid to take a good product and completely screw it up.

Yeah, actually, and taped weather forecasts and news headlines.  Funny, I never actually hated a job before that...We had two stations, an AM and a FM so I got to switch twice as many tapes.

That is real impressive. Thanks for your service.

Me only 2 years, Spec. 5 Personnel Management Specialist. Aptitude testing, Classified daily reports.

Formerly officer-director of mid-sized corporation, and a non-profit. Currently real estate broker.

Nothing of note, regarding radio like you. But I recognize we live in an age of very rapid technological change, and changing paradigms.

Trump set the world on its ear, by understanding those changes better than the establishment pros.

If you like him or hate him, it is still true. No Republican since Reagan ( or most likely Reagan himself) has taken on the media establishment like he has.

I can't know if you, as a media/communication careerist, feel resentful that an outsider could do what Trump has done.

I find it to be fascinating. But I can understand that George Will, Glenn Beck, Jeb Bush might feel resentful, like somebody moved their cheese.

What's funny is that had there been no Trump, Glenn Beck would not have been on that little list.  That guy went weird years ago.  Like he fancies himself to be Howard Beale or something.  Trump gave him a second life.

Quite fascinating indeed.

So what exactly are your qualifications in media and public relations again?

Same question goes to @truth_seeker as well.

The same 'qualifications' that assured me Donald Trump was going to become the 45th POTUS waaaaaaay back in June of 2015.

That you couldn't 'see' why that would come to pass, says more about your lack of understanding of your surroundings.

Has anyone stopped to think the media is acting the way it is because of how Trump has treated them practically since he announced he was running?

It's called push back. And quite frankly the WH needs to get together with the media heads in a room and call a truce of some sort.

I can't know if you, as a media/communication careerist, feel resentful that an outsider could do what Trump has done.

I don't feel resentful.  There's nothing t resent. And trump isn't an outsider.  He's the ultimate insider.  What he is doing will come back to bite him in the ass.  He's a bully pure and simple and unless he actually listens to the profesisojnals around him...it's going to be disastrous for him.

Not sure what happened to Beck...he used to be sane.

As for George Will...he's never been a friend of Conservatives.  He based Reagan supporters back in 79-80 as "Kamikaze Conservatives".  He's more of a Rocerkefeller Republican.

He should stick to writing about baseball.

I've noticed over the years that everybody thinks TV/Radio broadcasting is easy, and they're experts by virtue of watching/listening a lot.  It's like being a baseball expert because they've watched every game of the season with their home town team.

They never worked in comunications...but they did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express.

And it's not just the broadcasting part...you've got these people cheering on stupid behavior by the man who is now President...and thinking they know more than the actual experts in the field on what he should be doing.
