Even some our most misguided youth thought Stewart and Colbert were legit news sources.

No, there hasn't been a need to prove it to Republicans for many years, but there are still millions of LIVs out there who still think Brian Williams and Dan Rather were straight-shooters, just like Walter Cronkite.

If the polls are accurate, trust in the so called mainstream news is at an all time low

DJT's little stunt in front of CIA's Wall oh Honor was certainly "cringe worthy".  This is what happens to a group of handlers who can't handle what can not be handled.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Has anyone stopped to think the media is acting the way it is because of how Trump has treated them practically since he announced he was running?

It's called push back. And quite frankly the WH needs to get together with the media heads in a room and call a truce of some sort.

Definitely, @txradioguy a truce is in order, I believe that thing about getting in a pi$$ing contest with people that buy ink by the barrel still applies, it's stupid and going over their heads with twitter appear to be his only weapon, it's getting old and disrespectful of the office.
With Trumps business acumen and negotiating skills he should get the 5 billionaires that own the majority of the media in America in a room and threaten their monopoly with his FCC like all politicians seem to do.

The media has been biased since the very beginning and Trump isn't going to change that and the media knows there's very little Trump can legally do to change them. They're going to wear him down and outlast him.

Use the FCC to threaten the media unless there's more favorable coverage of trump?

Wow. Conservatives really do want to be dictators. Liberals were right about us.

@Weird Tolkienish Figure  I'm not advocating Trump use his FCC, though recent history shows the last 8 years or more it has become a political tool and Trump will wield it just as obummer did.
His FCC pick is a Verizon Lawyer, we'll see soon enough.

This is a theory I have, tell me what you think:  There is not one thing Trump could ever do that you would approve of, regardless of what it is. If he says nothing about the media bias, he'd be chumming it up with them.  If he says something about it, they you'd say he's whining.

Just a theory.
We have a few of those around here.  All of a sudden the press is somebody we should be nice too and trust.  I don't trust President the Donald but I'm not going to allow that to color my views.  It isn't Pres. the Donald's fault that the press is a bunch of liars.  It's been that way for a long time and it wouldn't matter who the Republican is.  I'm enjoying him putting his finger in their eye. ****slapping

Pffft!   A sign of weakness, is what they'll get out of that.

Nope...ignore their cries of mistreatment...and continue to twitter your a$$ off....which they'll be compelled to cover/respond.

Trump may only have a 50% TRUE approval rating.

The media's is less than 15%.

I had a chance to meet now retired FOX white house correspondent Wendel Goler and he spoke very highly of the Bush white house. He said that even when things were adversarial George Bush went out of his way to be friendly to them (Which I'm sure some here will hate because being a decent human being is a sign of weakness) He said that on a trip to west Africa George Bush went out of his way to ask the Gambian president for some genealogy info that Goler was looking for on his own.

ROFL!

George Bush...taking the advice of Karl Rove, the magnificent bast*rd...along with the 'consultants'....is the reason the media and cable news have taken their masks off and have become full blown socialists in plain view.

And I will always love Pres. Bush.   He took the bad advice and turned FAIL into an art form.

You.just.don't.get.it.

I'm speaking solely in terms of fighting the media in the internet age.

Being so-called adults in this cultural environment is for LOSERS.

His economic policies, together with the demise of radical Islam and the ensuing, expected POSITIVE results will enhance the GOP tent.

The media aren't interested in peace with Trump.  WTF has to happen in order for you to believe that?  Haven't you learned anything yet?

I'd ban CNN from ever stepping foot in the White House.   Immediately.

It's tantamount from hanging their hide on the fence outside the West Wing.

Fear is a stronger tool than sipping tea and feigned detente with those MFs.

I thought Kellyanne was great, but I'm concerned the Trump Administration will spend too much time and effort on fighting the media, vs. keeping an eye on the bad players around the world.

@Night Hides Not

I believe you are thinking similar thoughts as many, myself included.  All this "calling out" of "fake news" by the Trump Davidians... is all just a red herring.  I mean, come on... we all know that the NY Daily News is a commie rag, that all of television "News" is worthless slime and propaganda.

I am just at a loss here where people are eating up this garbage of being told the press is biased.  It's truly like being told that Brawndo has electrolytes.

We are so damned lucky to have him.

He just beat the democrats, beat the democrat media, and beat several "genteel" establishment Republicans, who would have given their usual half-hearted efforts while losing.

Quite fascinating indeed.

So what exactly are your qualifications in media and public relations again?

Same question goes to @truth_seeker as well.
