I have Blue Ice, too.  It looks cool.  The "Show unread posts since last visit" and "Show new replies to your posts" at the top is nice too.

Yes there is...it should be where she logs in...tell her to put a pw in and it will be incorrect and it should say forget pw?

if that doesn't work I can make her a new one and email it to her..she can then change it when she logs in

Hey Luis.  Just copy and paste the url in the reply box and you're good to go.

You could also use the insert hyperlink button after highlighting the link in the box, but I find it an unnecessary step.

I notice a glitch now after the recent changes made.  Maybe Ocean can look into it.

The 'font size' button doesn't work properly now.  Normally, you could highlight something, hit the font size button and you'd get the command (size=10pt] in front of the highlighted word or sentence and the command (/size] after the highlighted part. (I obviously used a parenthesis instead of a bracket for the purpose of this post.)

But now, all that happens when you hit the button is it removes the highlight, and it places those commands where the cursor happens to be.

Try it, Ocean.  What do you think?

This is big text.

When I edit, it shows a drop-down menu that selects the font size.  If I highlight a bit of text and then pick a different font size for the highlighted text, it puts the tags around the highlighted text, not just where the cursor happens to be.

You mean like on a printed page, where the text flows above, beside, and below an image?

I did it by setting up an image with a background that has the same color as the post background to use as an example.  It probably would require html to do it that way by hand.

I seem to remember  *hmmmm* that you need to install a mod to gain the ability to wrap text.

In particular, this mod.

Unfortunately, that mod doesn't work with version 2.0.2 of the SMF code, which is what GBR runs (the most current, of course!).

That was always the most annoying aspect of updating the SMF software to run the newest version...the mods then need to catch up.

Last time I used SMF, I kept the software one or two updates behind.

The problem seems to have cleared up for me now.  Did you make any adjustments to the program?  Maybe it was just my computer.  Anyway, it's fine now.  Thanks, Ocean.

Last time I used SMF, I kept the software one or two updates behind.

The problem with the mod turns out to be the installer - whomever wrote it only set it for versions up to 2.0 - and not the actual modifications.  I put them in manually (4 simple additions) and now we can float to our hearts' delight!

You "float" things - images, mainly, but anything you want - by either (1) highlighting it and using one of the two new green arrows on the main post editor or (2) surrounding what you want to float with an opening "float=left" or "float=right" in square brackets and a closing "/float" also in square brackets.

Here's me showing off with an example:

Any help from the old-time members of the site to help the newer members learn everything available to them here at The Briefing Room (from the shooting threads to the music videos to how the different categories breakdown) along with any posting hints for posters who are mainly comfortable with the old HTML posting methods at TOS would be a good thing to help the new members become more comfortable here at TBR.
