The idea that somebody looked at a purple onion and called it a red onion really bothers me.

Re. Super Bowl rings.

If American football handled this like the bicycling community, the Super Bowl title would be vacated, just as Lance Armstrong's wins were vacated.

But American sports is increasingly populated by rapist, murderers, drug addicts, wife beaters, and corporate advertisers who wish it could be suppressed.

The great dilemma: What to do about Armstrong, during his winning years? He drew crowds, sponsors, advertising and customers for products. Like Tiger Wood, he made the revenue of the sport grow and grow.

Does America have the moral fiber to place condemnation of wrongdoing, above corporate profitability?

Should Brady get the Pete Rose treatment? Banned from baseball, then and now:

The football is the sacrosanct centerpiece of the game.  This, THIS... is serious.  We'll see how it is treated.  Between the $$$ and general erosion of values, who knows.

Lying, cheating and stealing seem to be on the increase, from my observation point. Or at the minimum, taken less seriously.

The number of people that subscribe to "It is not just whether you win or lose, but how you play the game," seems to be on the decline.

When the Napster controversies raged, over stealing music, I was shocked to learn my olde fashioned moralistic belief system had been trumped by new rationalizations for outright theft.

So cheating at football or bike racing is no big deal, especially when $ millions are at stake. And from a Real Estate broker's standpoint, I was not surprised by the "Liar loan" breakdown which helped crash our economy.

If Brady misses 2 versus 8 games makes little difference.

Hard as it is to say, Tom Brady should be suspended for life.

All his accomplishments are for naught when you add up all the hanky panky the Patriots have been involved in.

And, the social climate is right since he's the "Glamour Boy", white guy.   Off with his head!

Many rivers to cross
But I can't seem to find my way over
Wandering I am lost as I travel along
The white cliffs of Dover
Many rivers to cross and it's only my will
That keeps me alive
I've been licked, washed up for years and,
I merely survive because of my pride.

And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's such a drag to be on your own
My woman left and she didn't say why
Well I guess, I gotta try.
Many rivers to cross but where to begin,
I'm playing for time
There'll be times when I find myself thinking
Of committing some dreadful crime.

I've got many rivers to cross
But I can't seem to find my way over
Wandering I am lost as I travel along
The white cliffs of Dover
Many rivers to cross and it's only my will
That keeps me alive
I've been licked, washed up for years and,
I merely survive because of my pride.

That is his signature number, no doubt.  Thanks Man.  Your comments are prescient on many levels Luis.  You have a way of doing that, Brother.

I've posted this before but here is a great guest performance of BB with U2 in Australia 1989. You gotta watch to the end.  So, so perfect.  I saw him in concert more times than any other performer.  Storyteller extraordinaire with his words, music and oh yes... Lucille.  She will never speak again.  May he Rest in Peace.

"It aint what you don't know that kills you.  It's what you know that aint so!" ...Theodore Sturgeon

"It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living" F. Scott Fitzgerald
