An Iranian state news outlet said Friday that an agreement with the U.S., which President Trump touted the previous day as a "great settlement of the war," includes the U.S. releasing $24 billion of frozen Iranian financial assets.

Iran's semi-official Mehr News agency published what it said was a draft of the 14-point agreement Friday. It includes a stipulation that Iran's assets will be released during a 60-day extension of the current ceasefire, which would begin as soon as the deal comes into effect.

Iran's Foreign Ministry cautioned earlier that the regime had yet to fully commit to the agreement.

The document also states that half of the $24 billion in Iranian assets would be made available before further negotiations begin during the 60-day ceasefire extension.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman said Thursday that the agreement still required approval by the country's government.

I will believe MAGA stands for something when I see my country make the transition from "socialist lite" to free republic again. I will apply two simple tests: (1) the deficit is going down; and (2) we are no longer engaged in endless wars. So far, Trump has moved us in the opposite direction on both of these issues with nary a complaint from MAGA.

Since "Make America Great Again" means more government, more spending, higher inflation and more wars then I can't join the cult because I don't stand for any of those things.

I do agree they have fun rallies.

The calls, which have not been previously reported, came from Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, United Arab Emirates President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Pakistani defense chief Asim Munir, according to two administration officials and a diplomat briefed on the calls. Both were granted anonymity to discuss a sensitive diplomatic mediation.

These countries have sway over Tehran and Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, Trump said Thursday, and their assurance that a deal was near led him to walk back his attack plans , according to one of the administration officials.

The president announced on Truth Social that a deal could be signed as early as this weekend.

Trump cannot do those things alone. He needs help from prosecutors, grand juries, judges, juries, congress, state governments, and us! Just eliminating the fraud would balance the budget and I see progress being made there. Holding the fraudsters accountable is even more important. And YES, I'm including some of the war fighting in the fraud department. Particularly in government procurements.

Trump has no power to arrest or prosecute anyone, neither does congress. We can make laws until hell freezes over but until those laws are uniformly enforced they are useless.

I believe that I was the first poster here to warn that draining the swamp was going to be FAR easier said than done. I still believe that today.

Iranian state media is denying reports that a US-Iran agreement will be signed in Vienna on Sunday. According to a source cited by Fars News, no signing date has been set and negotiations are still ongoing.

President Trump has repeatedly suggested a deal is close, but Tehran repeatedly says it has not yet given final approval.

 Barak Ravid at Axios: Trump has claimed an agreement was close multiple times before, and Tehran said in response to Trump’s latest claim that there had been no “final decision.” However, three sources briefed on the talks told Axios that key gaps were narrowed during talks between Iranian officials and Qatari mediators on Wednesday. Iran’s Fars news agency denied any deal had been agreed, but said there was a “possibility” Tehran would consider signing off…. Negotiations continued late into Wednesday night in Tehran as Qatari envoy Ali Al-Thawadi and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi worked to bridge the remaining gaps between the U.S. and Iran. According to three sources briefed on the talks, the Qataris and the Iranians believed on Wednesday that they had reached an agreed-upon text that the U.S. would also accept (Axios).

Very shallow thought processes.  Who would not wish the deficit to go down and peace forever?

The former cannot be done by a President as we operate under a Republican form of government where Congress enacts the laws under which we live.  If Congress did its job, fraud would be eliminated, federal laws that have no basis in the Constitution would be eliminated in favor of state laws, unconstitutional judicial rulings by rogue judges would be handled by removal from office and freedom from federal dictates would be given all.

The size of government would shrink exponentially and the economy would skyrocket.

Congress and Judicial now appears more concerned of protecting the freedoms of illegals in this country rather than us citizens, as well as preserving their own power over the rest of us.

And as far as 'peace', one needs to direct that comment on those who destroy peace like Iran, North Korea and Islamic terrorists.  What war has the US ever started rather than reacted to?

My main concern for the country is the melting of the social and moral fabric.  Removing God from the historical record of how this country was founded is antithetical to our nation.  In doing so, morality is undermined, the family structure is removed and patriotism is shrunken.

Patriotism by all citizens. not just officials, in prioritizing what is best for our country over oneself is how we were founded and it would be remarkable the change in this country should we once again absorb that feeling and act accordingly.

That is what Making America Great Again is all about, not just money.  It is a lifestyle habit.

I'm seeing a lot of fake information about a potential deal to reopen the Strait and end Iran's nuclear weapons program. First, the Iranians are not receiving any cash, and no funds are being released for simply signing a deal or attending a meeting. The deal is structured to ensure that the US and its allies concerns are prioritized, and that if the Islamic Republic of Iran meets its obligations, then economic benefits will flow to them and to the entire region. This deal has the potential to remake the region and lead to lasting peace.

I've noticed a couple of bizarre things in the reporting over the last few hours. First, people who (rightly) said Donald Trump was a historic president a month ago now criticizing a deal based on unconfirmed media reports. Second, people who say you can't trust a word said by the IRGC who apparently believe anonymously sourced social media posts.

The president is going to get us a good outcome, one way or the other.

You’re mixing slogans with systems that don’t actually work that way.

Deficits don’t track neatly to who’s in office. They’re driven by structural spending, debt interest, demographics, and crisis cycles. Every recent administration has run large deficits, regardless of rhetoric.

Same with “endless wars.” Once you inherit global bases, alliances, and existing conflicts, you manage momentum more than you reset it. That’s been true across parties for decades.

MAGA isn’t a single governing doctrine with consistent fiscal or foreign policy outcomes. It’s a coalition with overlapping and sometimes conflicting priorities. You can critique results, but calling it a “cult” because it doesn’t satisfy two simple metrics is more rhetoric than analysis.

If your standard is lower deficits and fewer foreign entanglements, that’s fair. But no modern political movement has reliably delivered both in practice.

Do we have a deal yet? "No, but we are very close."  The official estimates that a deal is 75% there, not 100% yet.

"While this is tentative, we feel confident that we will be signing this in the next few days.”

We have agreed to the concepts and the details, but the deal is NOT done until we sign it.

WHAT IS IN THE DEAL:

(1) The highly enriched uranium will be destroyed — “The deal accomplishes that."

(2) There is a long-term commitment that Iran cannot procure a nuclear weapon.

(3) There is a meaningful inspection process.

(4) Iran cannot fund terrorism as we work toward broader peace in the Middle East.

(5) The Hormuz Strait will be open.

Assets ARE NOT immediately unfrozen.  Iran MUST meet its commitments first.

Your family's gains are just incidental to 47's family's financial gains. He's the guy hawking cheap watches on TV, pumping Dell stock etc. Whose son got a no-bid contract for anti-drones at $20K a pop, rather than the offered $3K battle-proven Ukrainian anti-drones.

And his pumping is hurting more people in the market than helping, IMHO
