Trump announced he was going to take Kharg Island because he knew he was never going to actually do it.
I was a fool to take Trump's bullshit seriously.

The Iranian Mullahs and the IRGC are popping champagne tonight.

It will be interesting to see how Trump tries to sell this as a victory and an 'unconditional surrender' by Iran.

Countdown begins. A few years from now, we will have to do all of this all over again. And Iran will be better prepared and more ready next time.

A few years from now, we will be in fallout shelters awaiting the next Iranian nuclear strike.

I lived through Watergate too.  Which basically was a left wing test case to nail Nixon for what everyone else was doing.

The WAPO pukes created the system that today still is a MSM system to ambush conservatives.  And after already 2 bogus impeachments?  Good luck finding 18 or 19 GOP senator cooperating with Crying Wolf Boys of the socialist partyl.

Nailing Nixon was payback for his having worked with Joe McCarthy. Nothing more or less than that.

Well I admire your honesty.  But I have a different take, and I am hardly MAGA. 

I think this is one of those "eggs in one basket" phenomenon.  Our government has been screwing us for so long that anyone, I mean anyone who wants to dismantle this system in earnest has the hearts and minds of the populous. 
 
Things haven't gone perfect for Trump and his agenda, but how soon we forget how bad Biden was.  We are 100X better off than at the end of '24.  Funny how perspectives are lost in short order.

HALT! any military action by Trump simply by saying the magic words, 'I am ready to make a deal'. As soon as Trump hears these words he goes into a kind of paralysis. He stops everything 'real' and focuses solely and entirely on 'making a deal'. Iran knows this and uses this trick skillfully. And here they have done it yet again.

Trump stopped all military action and he doesn't even have his Holy Grail "deal" yet, just like the Iranians knew he would. Now that he has stopped bombing, which was Iran's immediate goal, Iran will go back to stalling and delaying and stalling with delays which is what they always do. Iran knows that Trump's "deal" is the most important thing in the world to him. And they are using it to manipulate him.

It is incredibly stunning to me that Trump cannot see that Iran is just toying with him. Iran has the red laser pointer "deal" and Trump is the cat.

If you always assume that what Trump writes on Truth Social will be the exact opposite of what he actually does, you will be right the vast majority of the time, and retain your sanity.

Truth Social has two marketing objectives: (1) feed red meat to the cultists; and (2) trigger more TDS in the enemy. Trump's TS posts have no bearing on actual policy as far as I have ever been able to tell.

And now that everyone at TS is celebrating this great new deal, when just hours ago they were lauding Trump for finally taking off the handcuffs, I rest my case.

I am all for peace. I hope this deal brings it. But I have a feeling the fine print is going to be troublesome. I predict there will be nothing on ballistic missiles, nothing on funding terrorist groups, and the mullahs will now have international legitimacy to trade freely with the rest of the world. In effect, we fought a war in order to cement the regime in place for another 50 years.

I fervently pray that you're wrong @massadvj but my gut says you are not. And it's a damned shame that the man who is trying mightily to fix our federal government (my opinion) has been led to this.
