President Trump warned late Friday that the U.S. could strike Iran again if the Middle Eastern nation’s leaders do not agree to his terms before the temporary ceasefire ends next week.

The president told News Nation, The Hill’s sister network, on board Air Force One that if no deal is reached by Wednesday’s deadline, “we’ll have to start dropping bombs again.”

“But I think it’s going to happen,” he told reporters, referring to coming to an agreement to end the conflict.

Trump also reaffirmed that the U.S.’s naval blockade would remain intact in the Strait of Hormuz. The military imposed the blockade on Monday after Tehran announced new tolls on oil-carrying ships traveling through the trading corridor.

Pakistan has been mediating the negotiations between the two sides. The country’s foreign minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, said he is “very hopeful” about the negotiations during a panel discussion in Turkey on Friday.

“We were very close to stitching a deal, but because of the timeline. the delegations had to go back on the 11th, so we are hoping and still working in the background that we should bridge the gap of certain couple of things, which are pending and one of the issues was also Lebanon,” Dar said. “Lebanon, we have good news that there’s a ceasefire.”

Strait of Hormuz under 'full IRGC control,' Iran opens fire on at least one vessel: intel official

A regional intelligence official told Fox News that the Strait of Hormuz is "under full IRGC control and effectively closed at this moment."

"Multiple vessels have been forced to turn around since this morning as they attempted to pass through the Strait," the official said.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) "opened fire on at least one vessel as part of the closure policy they declared last night," the official added.

This comes after Iran’s joint military command said on Saturday that “control of the Strait of Hormuz has returned to its previous state" and is "under strict management and control of the armed forces.”

The command warned that it would continue to block transit through the strait as long as the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports remained in effect.

Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian parliament’s National Security Commission, said that the strait was “returning to the status quo,” which he had earlier described as ships requiring Iranian naval authorization and toll payment before transiting.

The development came a day after Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared the strait open while a 10-day ceasefire was announced between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon. President Donald Trump on Friday had praised the reopening of the strait but said the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports would remain in "full force."

 Iran fires on tanker near Oman after re-closing Strait of Hormuz

ISLAMABAD — The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps fired on at least one ship in the waters near Oman after Tehran again closed the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Organization.

Two IRGC gunboats approached a tanker about 20 nautical miles northeast of the Gulf country around 1 p.m. local time — and opened fire unprovoked, the tanker’s master reported.

A second vessel was attacked by an “unknown projectile” some two hours later in the same area, the UKMTO said.

The container ship suffered damage to some containers, but no fire or environmental impact was reported.

It’s not clear whether the IRGC was responsible for that strike.

Iran is flexing their muscle after President Trump proclaimed that the Strait was open and under U.S. control. He backs down on this and it's over!  It absolutely defeats the purpose that we went over into Iran to begin with and it will absolutely cause the GOP to lose the mid terms.  They don't exactly have a stellar chance to begin with because of their lack of doing a darn thing to curb the liberal/socialist agenda that is starting to take a foothold in several states.

I tend to agree; Iran had their chance and now they are actually firing on vessels in the Strait -- this could have and should have been over with awhile ago.  Diplomacy doesn't work with these people.  Enough is enough. 

Iran has had days to regroup and re-strategize and that has not proved to be in our favor.

Save it Mr.  President. More talks .... come on.  The talks have done nothing.  He knows it, we know it.  He has two choices - fire back and let Iran continue to take shots or -- end this charade in a timely manner.  Does anyone see any other avenue?  They can't be trusted.  Negotiations with them have been futile.

Trump says 'good conversations' with Iran as Strait of Hormuz closed

President Donald Trump said his administration has "very good conversations going on" with Iran on April 18 after a possible breakthrough in peace negotiations was dashed hours earlier when Iran announced the country will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian leaders have not said that they are not open to restarting talks so long as the U.S. military continues to blockade the country's ports. "They did not win the war with these lies, and they will certainly not get anywhere in negotiations either," said Mohammad B. Ghalibaf, Iran’s speaker of Parliament and one of the country’s top negotiators.

"With the continuation of the blockade, the Strait of Hormuz will not remain open."

Ghalibaf’s announcement came hours after both Iranian leaders had said the critical shipping lane was "completely open" and Trump said it was "READY FOR BUSINESS." The Iranian leader said the country decided to reverse its decision in response to Trump saying he would not call off the U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports.

Trump, meanwhile, doubled down on comments that peace talks were progressing well.

"Most of the points are already negotiated and agreed to," the president told a crowd at a political rally in Arizona Friday evening. Trump claimed Iran had conceded on several key negotiating points, including that "the USA will get all nuclear dust," referring to the country’s highly enriched uranium.

The president has been saying further peace talks with Iran will happen imminently, though none have been announced.

The White House has not responded to questions about the discrepancy between Trump and Ghalibaf’s comments......

Agreed.  "Good Conversations" aren't cutting it.  Possible peace negotiations??? No. Not going to happen and they know it.  You can't tell me that Gen. Caine and Hegseth are all comfy cozy with these talks.  Rubio is still absent from these talks?  Next we'll learn that Kushner is in on these conversations.  *****rollingeyes*****

IRGC warns ships nearing Strait of Hormuz will be treated as ‘enemy:' report

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reportedly issued a sweeping warning to ships in the region on Saturday, saying any movement toward the Strait of Hormuz will be viewed as cooperation with “the enemy."

“Following the violation of the ceasefire conditions, the American enemy did not lift the naval blockade of Iranian vessels and ports; therefore, from this afternoon, the Strait of Hormuz is closed until this blockade is lifted,” the IRGC said, according to Tehran-based WANA News Agency.

The IRGC also instructed vessels in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman to remain at anchor, warning that any ship approaching the strategic waterway “will be considered cooperation with the enemy, and the violating vessel will be targeted.”

Walz rips Trump and Vance in Europe, says 'feeble-minded, trigger-happy president' has no exit plan

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz slammed President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance at a conference for progressives in Spain on Saturday, accusing Trump of being a "feeble-minded, trigger-happy president" who has "no exit plan" for the ongoing conflict with Iran.

Walz delivered the criticism after a crowd at the inaugural Global Progressive Mobilization event in Barcelona heard video messages from New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani about affordability and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., speaking about the "illegal and dangerous wars being waged by Netanyahu and Trump in Iran and Lebanon."

"We've got a feeble-minded, trigger-happy president who plunged us into a war where no threat was present, with no clear objectives and no exit plan. We need to call that what it is. That's fascism. Or at least it's fascist curious as they would be," Walz said.
