Morons.  Listen up.  This is not 1973.  There will be no gas lines in the US.  There will be no rationing.  This is not Jimmah the Peanuts America, you know, the guy most of you voted for before you woke up.

Fvcking chill out.  What are you all.... A bunch of dumbasses?

Stop believing the doom and gloomers.  The clickbaters.

I've checked the price of WTI crude every few days for a couple of weeks. It peaked at $115 right after the attacks began, dropped to $93.##, and for a couple of weeks has been hovering in the $95-$99 range. It's down ~$2 from a couple of days ago, but I take that as background noise variation. The price of gas at at least a couple of stations near me has been $4.999 for a couple of weeks, and this is still significantly lower than the peak under LIEden. Yeah, no gas lines.

I just posted this on FB. I wonder if FB will leave it alone, but I thought I'd repost it here:

The FB algorithm, in its "wisdom", has decided to feed me absurd "pictures" o Kalashnikov-waving men next to an American plane that supposedly has been shot down. So far I've seen an A-10, a B-2, and an F-35. Why do I say the "pictures" are absurd? The men-with-Kalashnikovs and the "planes" are similar in height. To make the absurdity clear, here are real pics of (wo)men and the planes.

A-10:

B-2:

F-35:

NATO Countries Begin To Cave, Express ‘Readiness’ To Assist In Strait Of Hormuz Defense

Western powers are closing ranks after Iran’s latest strikes in the Gulf, warning Tehran to back off as global energy markets wobble and one of the world’s most critical shipping lanes teeters on the brink.

Leaders from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Japan said they are prepared to step in to help secure commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz following a string of attacks blamed on Iran.

“We express our readiness to contribute to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait. We welcome the commitment of nations who are engaging in preparatory planning,” the leaders said in a joint statement.

The group blasted Tehran’s actions, warning that the situation is spiraling.

“We condemn in the strongest terms recent attacks by Iran on unarmed commercial vessels in the Gulf, attacks on civilian infrastructure including oil and gas installations, and the de facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iranian forces.”

Trucks full of IRDG...Missile launchers, Small attack boats or minelayers, all of which are relatively soft targets.

Yes, the A-10 can take on some tanks with the gun, by attacking top and rear armor which is not generally as thick. That said, Maverick missiles and other ordnance fired or dropped from the A-10 gets a lot of the credit, too.

Iran, apparently, has some Shah-era Brit and some US M60 tanks. Most of their force is T-72s and home-brew T-72 clones. The A-10 was designed to fight T-72s, though Iran may have T-72s with upgraded armor (which decreases speed and stresses engines, transmissions, and suspensions). As you pointed out, such tanks have less strong areas in their armor, areas at which an A-10 would be firing its 30 mm.

As for whatever lightly armored infantry fighting vehicles and battle taxis Iran might have, BRRRRrrrrt!

A-10 loiter time is 1 hr 58 minutes

You do know that A-10s can do mid-air refueling, right? And that the USAF is smart enough to organize patrol-refuel rotation?

Defiant Iran Declares the World Is Now a Target, Recreational and Tourist Sites Included

Recreational and tourist sites worldwide will now be a target for Iran’s aggression and what remains of the Islamic state’s leadership further added Friday it is still building missiles.

Right now we have two objectives IMO, first and foremost to completely snuff out their ability to launch drones and missiles at assets outside their borders before we get plunged into economic chaos, and break the regime so that they can no longer oppress their people.

On that note maybe it's time to arm the Iranian people if we are not already.
The Republic is lost.

RE: The Way of War of Our Enemies

In every hot war the United States has become involved in since the Korean War, we have enjoyed absolute tactical and operational dominance over our enemies.  We win every tactical engagement, overwhelmingly.  Operationally we can and do dominate any theater of our choosing.  No one—and I mean NO ONE—can stand toe to toe with the US military.

This has been true for decades.

We’ve talked before about the elements of national power—the “DIME” (Diplomacy, Informational, Military, Economic).

Our military power is unsurpassed.  We are masters of diplomacy.  We have the world’s strongest economy.

So how do we lose?  The INFORMATIONAL component.

Our military opponents, from Ho Chi Minh to Osama bin Ladin, knew that the only way to defeat the USA is to demoralize the American populace such that it demands withdrawal and throws the then current Commander-in-Chief out of office.  The ONLY way to defeat America militarily is to convince the American people that a war is unwinnable.

The slow dribble of IED deaths in OIF was not actually targeting soldiers and Marines—it was targeting YOU, the American people.  And CNN eagerly complied with death counts running across the bottom of the screen.

The Tet Offensive?  It was a decisive US victory that could have ended the Vietnam War in our favor.  But Walter Cronkite instead declared the war lost, protests erupted nationwide, and the war was lost.

The Highway of Death in Kuwait?  We could have taken out Saddam Hussein in 1991 and never needed to go back in 2003, but international media made the attack on retreating Iraqis look “too cruel,” so we halted just short of the finish line.

The strategic imperative of every one of America’s military enemies is to break the will of the American people with skewed information, propaganda, and extreme emphasis on America’s minor losses amidst overwhelming military victory.

But the Ho Chi Minhs and Osama bin Ladins can’t do that by themselves.  They need willing partners in the American media and government.

And for Operation Epic Fury, boy oh boy do the Iranian mullahs have an over abundance of American morale killers to draw from in order to defeat America through the informational instrument of national power.

Tucker Carlson.

Senator Mark Kelly and the rest of the Seditious Six.

CNN.

ABC.

NBC.

CBS.

NYT, WaPo.

Pakistani bot armies on social media.

X “influencers” like Cerno, Candace, MartyrMade and Ian Carroll.

Every idiot claiming we are fighting “Israel’s war."

There is an entire Army of American politicians and media figures who are willingly fighting Iran’s informational war on its behalf (and in some cases, at its behest).

America is DECISIVELY WINNING the war on Iran in every measurable respect.

Yet there are so many influential Americans who are desperately determined to make you believe otherwise.

In days of old in non-US countries, such people would have been strung up for treason.

Thankfully it’s 2026 and we have a First Amendment, so no one fear being treated in such a medieval manner.  But we can still ostracize and ridicule such people and sources for the irreparable harm they are wreaking upon the USA as they do the bidding (intentionally or unintentionally) of Theo-fascist mullahs who are determined to set off a nuclear bomb so that the Twelfth Imam will arise from a well in Qom and precipitate the global apocalypse.

We all need to choose sides.  Are you with America, or are you with theologic-inspired, deliberate Armageddon?

And anyone who chooses the latter needs to be the target of mockery, derision and clearly-stated facts disproving their lies.

And if YOU are an American Patriot, you can fight that informational war on America’s behalf, right now, right here on social media, right there in your own living room.  Your voice matters, and your voice is actually a part of the war.

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT.

QFT. Cronkite did what the (by then virtually eliminated) Viet Cong could not. He lost the war, with his personal brand of profound gravitas, perhaps not out of malice, but definitely playing to his audience of leftists and hitting the naive Americans who believed what was on their TeeVee.
I remember that broadcast. It angered me then, and still does.

The Theocracy must be removed from power. They will, if able, pursue a nuclear weapon, and will use it, possibly not against Israel (the "little satan") but against the US ("the great satan"). Considering the tons of drugs that have made it into the US and their cooperating allies who would stand much to gain from a deniable nuclear strike in the US, all they would have to do is get the device in a container and ship it in.
Israel may be closer, but the US is an infiltrated soft target, not used to warfare on our shores, unprepared for internal strife (though perhaps more so than a decade or two ago), and with vulnerable nexus points in critical infrastructure. The more dependent we are on electronic communications and commerce, the more vulnerable we are, and virtually all critical systems are dependent on electric power and telecommunications.
It is not a question of 'If', but one of when, if their ability to strike is not neutered at the least, or eliminated completely.
Like a cancer, we remove it, or it will only return, and have lethal results.
Like it or not, the apocalyptic mindset of people willing, if not eager, to die for their beliefs makes them all the more dangerous.

They will not negotiate in good faith, and only use such negotiations to buy time to rain destruction upon their enemies. The Theocracy must be eliminated.
How God must weep at humans' folly! Stand fast! God knows what he is doing!

I never doubted they would.  Conversation I had with a leftist years ago:

Me:  We can't let Iranians have a Nuclear weapon!
Lefty:  Why can't they have weapons that we and others have?  It's only fair!
Me:  Because the Mullahs are crazy enough to use them, and it won't be Israel they'll use them against!

Of course! You do know that AC-130s are also refueled, giving them much more than the 10 hour loiter time. However, both have to leave their station to be refueled, before returning to any remaining portion of their missions.

Easy to do, since 47 cut them off from much of the intel they were getting; the slack was taken up by EU and others.

“I have no idea what the allies were looking at for 4 years while we were fighting,” Ukrainian Armed Forces instructors who were sent to help counter Iranian missiles and UAVs are shocked by how the US shoots down targets, The Times.

The most interesting points:
▪️ Persian Gulf countries fired as many as 8 Patriot missiles at a single enemy target, with each missile costing over $3 million;

▪️ They often used SM-6 missiles from ships, costing ≈$6 million each, to shoot down a UAV worth ≈$70,000;

▪️ The US and allies frequently “light up” their radars without proper camouflage. Ukrainians do it differently: mobile radars constantly change positions;

▪️ Just three (!) cheap drones destroyed an AN/FPS-132 early warning radar (≈ $1 billion) and another air defense radar (≈ $300 million), which had been standing in the same spot for months and were easily “readable” from satellites.

As for whatever lightly armored infantry fighting vehicles and battle taxis Iran might have, BRRRRrrrrt!

There is also psychological value in sending the 'Hawgs.'  They are so fearsome and iconic, to the point of playing prominent roles in movies (like Transformers), that our adversaries are terrified of them based on that reputation.

BREAKING: Russia’s President Putin has offered to stop providing intel to Iran if US does the same for Ukraine.

So Trump has continued supplying intel to Ukraine? :silly: I'm not surprised, but ... . Anyway, this is probably part of the mosaic of how Ukraine hits Russian tankers and assets in the Med, Black Sea, and Caspian Sea. The US is probably also providing battlefield intel to Ukraine. Putin is not stoooopid enough to ask the US to stop doing what it is not doing.

Meanwhile, Iranian leadership keeps getting attrited - the sounder is getting dumbed down - and irreplaceable military assets keep getting consumed, some by US and Israeli bombs/missiles, some by use.

BREAKING: Russia’s President Putin has offered to stop providing intel to Iran if US does the same for Ukraine.

That would really be a bad deal, considering how poorly Russian intel has served the Iranians.

I don't think the US has been providing much in the way of intel to Ukraine, but us civilians have no way to know for sure.

I think its mostly British and French now, and maybe Poland on the ground, which are quality, high-tech intelligence services, all things considered.

US military sending thousands more Marines, sailors to Middle East, US official tells Fox News

The USS Boxer amphibious ready group and attached 11th Marine expeditionary unit is deploying to the Middle East from California, a U.S. official confirmed to Fox News on Friday.

The task force of about 4,500 sailors and Marines is currently sailing across the Pacific Ocean to the Middle East, the official said.

It could take the USS Boxer about a month to reach the Middle East. It left San Diego Bay on Wednesday, March 18.

The USS Boxer amphibious assault ship carries F-35B Lightning II stealth fighters, MV-22B Osprey tiltrotors, AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters, UH-1Y Venom utility helicopters and MH-60S Seahawk helicopters.

The USS Boxer amphibious assault ship, USS Portland amphibious transport dock ship and USS Comstock dock landing ship are the three ships that make up the USS Boxer amphibious ready group and 11th Marine expeditionary unit.

Once in the Middle East, it will overlap with the USS Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group and 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit for some time, and then will replace the 31st MEU altogether, the official added, noting this will happen in coming weeks.

The Tripoli ARG/31st MEU is still heading to the Middle East from Japan and is expected to arrive as early as next week.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans think that President Donald Trump will send U.S. ground troops into the fighting against Iran, a new national poll indicates.

A Reuters/Ipsos survey, conducted Tuesday through Thursday (March 17–19), also indicates that a majority of Americans, 55%, say they don't support sending ground troops into the operation against Iran.

The poll's release comes as the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran are about to close out their third week.

Only 7% of those questioned in the survey said they'd support a large-scale strike by American ground forces, with 34% saying they'd back a more limited-in-scope incursion by U.S. special forces.

Fourteen percent of Republicans surveyed said they'd support a large ground force operation, with 63% saying they'd back inserting special forces into a ground action. Twenty-one percent of Republicans gave a thumbs-down to sending in American ground troops.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, at a Pentagon briefing earlier this month, declined to rule out the use of U.S. ground forces.

Trump said on Thursday that he was "not putting troops anywhere," when asked by a reporter about his war plans.

Fortunately Trump is not likely to use polls and focus groups to decide where to deploy assets.  That said, I don't want US or Israeli boots in Iran, either, but that's up to the CiC.  But it's better to have them in theater and not need them and not the other way around!

I don't see how we can secure their enriched uranium without boots on the ground at some point. That could be limited to wherever the uranium is stored assuming it isn't spread around the country and only for the duration it takes to secure it.

Trump’s approval rating sinks to lowest EVER as Americans turn on Iran war and skyrocketing gas prices
President Donald Trump's approval rating has sunk to the lowest ever, with voters expressing displeasure with the war with Iran and the cost of living.

A new Daily Mail/JL Partners poll found that Trump's approval rating has slipped to 42 percent.

That is down from the 44 percent approval he received on March 3, just days into the Iran conflict. Trump held a 48 percent approval rating as recently as late January.

Trump's performance in the Middle East is partially driving the disappointment.

Twenty-eight percent of respondents cited the war as the top reason they disapprove of the job the President is doing. This is up from the 20 percent who selected the Middle East in early March. (gdaom)

Putin would not ask the US to stop providing intel to Ukraine if the US was not doing this and any provided intel was unimportant. This seems like simple logic to me.

Even if Russia was providing good info, Iran's ability to use it is very much diminished.

Putin may not know the pedigree of the intel Ukraine is using, or he's simply lying about it as an excuse to give intel to Iran.

Trump doesn't have time for Putin's games but perhaps he's underestimated his ruthlessness.

Vulcan strikes one for the future with:
"Right now we have two objectives IMO, first and foremost to completely snuff out their ability to launch drones and missiles at assets outside their borders before we get plunged into economic chaos, and break the regime so that they can no longer oppress their people.
On that note maybe it's time to arm the Iranian people if we are not already."

You can't achieve this with weapons from the air alone.
At least, not with conventional weapons from the air.

There ARE "weapons" that can be dropped "from the air" that could win this war quickly and finally (as in "final solution"). But we won't use them. Or, at least maybe, not yet.

Iran is still lobbing pot shots around the mideast. Now, they're threatening to expand the attacks to more of the world.
Some of these shots have been quite accurate and destructive.
For that, they're probably getting guidance from Russia and China.

Sooner or later, they may "get lucky" with a bang that kills a lot of people somewhere.

What is it REALLY going to take to stop them?

Sorry if you don't care for this reply...

Recreational and tourist sites worldwide will now be a target for Iran’s aggression and what remains of the Islamic state’s leadership further added Friday it is still building missiles.

The Old City Enters the War: A Historic Crossroads
The Last Wire – March 20, 2026

Missiles and explosive fragments have reached the heart of Jerusalem’s Old City. Sirens sounded after Iranian launches, and shrapnel reportedly fell near the Jewish Quarter and adjacent to the Temple Mount as authorities scrambled to assess damage. Local religious leaders condemned the explosions near the Western Wall and other holy sites, stressing the gravity of strikes in areas central to multiple faiths. (The Jerusalem Post)
