Morons.  Listen up.  This is not 1973.  There will be no gas lines in the US.  There will be no rationing.  This is not Jimmah the Peanuts America, you know, the guy most of you voted for before you woke up.

Fvcking chill out.  What are you all.... A bunch of dumbasses?

Stop believing the doom and gloomers.  The clickbaters. The Masturbators.

Doom and gloom?  Hardly.  A realist who understands what might happen if the oil fields are proliferated, and unusable for a sustained period of time.  All the economies of the world are intertwined, and the overall impact will be impossible to isolate.

If a 1/4 of all of the oil in the world is cut off?.  .  Let's start with Japan.  @175% debt to GDP ratio, and get's 90% from the SOH.  You think that is going to sustain, if their industrial base is curtiailed?  You don't think this would domino?

Always prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.  Ignoring the risk is at your own peril.

All that sounds very sweet and nice, but if one had any sense one would prepare for more than just dipping and swilling.

Me, I doubled up on oil/gas and pipeline stocks a year ago, and plan on enjoying life very well indeed.

Florida does not allow oil drilling off its coast, so I do hope other states can satisfy your indulgences.  Or maybe not.

Was in oil my entire work life, and this guy thinks I am "uninformed"?

I believe (hope) that cooler heads will prevail, and we avoid this scenario.  I think DJT did well asking Israel to dial back the attacks on oil infrastructure.

A possible scenario:

He may not have much choice, since he's seeking a Supplemental of 100 [ million?billion? ] to keep the ball rolling which is not likely to pass the Senate, nor is the 200 billion Hegseth wants to restock munitions used.

So because oil prices are going up, voters are going to punish the GOP by electing Dems who, among other things, will cut all funding to DHS and to the Iranian war. They will then do everything to help the Mullahs maintain power. Sort of like Nam, only coming down on Ho Chi Min's side.

Voters will love this Dem policy, since they believe that gas prices will be lower, even at the expense of American troop lives, and allowing the Mullahs to continue their work toward nuclear weapons as a bonus.

Iran, of course, keeps attacking the Gulf States oil refineries and keeps the Strait closed and the price of oil high. Voters will then demand the Dems to "do something" like drain the last remaining barrels of oil from the Strategic Reserve - weakening it to collapse in the process. But, hey, there is relief at the pumps and voters are smiling over the ashes of American because they have less expensing gas.

Until one or more random container ships off a coast launches a huge drone swarm - one of which is a larger drone containing the fruits of the Mullahs nuclear ambitions ...

Voters will then have bigger worries than the price of gas. They got what they wanted and the consequences as well.

Lest we forget, it was the Dems who cut the funding for the VNAF in the closing days of the war, when tactical strikes against NVA Armor and troops could have stopped them. The North exploited that weakness with massed troops and armor columns.

Neutralizing a threat before it metastasizes goes much further towards establishing regional and international stability than does endlessly tolerating a terrorist regime.

Over and over in history we have seen that it is far costlier to defeat an enemy later than it is to deal with him earlier.
THIS!  pointing-up

What we are dealing with now is the credible threat it is because that can has been kicked down the road since 1979. That has given time for the development of a host of significant proxies which have been used to destabilize the region and attack even US troops and embassies.
It is the mess it is because others would placate instead of act decisively.

A closed Persian Gulf will have more world wide impact (for those of us who remember) than the 1973 Oil Embargo.  Gas lines, rationing, speed limit restrictions, and emergency jump starting of our domestic oil industry after being drunk for decades on cheap Middle East Oil.

Countries like Japan that are already Debt leveraged and rely 90% on this area may see even more disastrous consequences, .... and these things tend to domino.

Let's cool it on bombing of oil and gas fields, and hard infrastructure.
I agree. Production should be left alone, just the distribution interdicted. It has all the effect of bombing the oilfields, economically, by making the sale and delivery impossible, without destroying the means of production. Once things settle down, it would be relatively cheap and easy to replace distribution networks compared to the upstream end.

Fast fact.  There are no tanks in Iran.
Trucks full of IRDG...Missile launchers, Small attack boats or minelayers, all of which are relatively soft targets.

Yes, the A-10 can take on some tanks with the gun, by attacking top and rear armor which is not generally as thick. That said, Maverick missiles and other ordnance fired or dropped from the A-10 gets a lot of the credit, too.

US strikes Iranian underground missile storage with 5,000-pound penetrator
By Michael Scanlon
 Mar 19, 2026, 02:53 PM

The U.S. military employed 5,000-pound penetrator weapons against underground Iranian storage facilities holding coastal defense cruise missiles and related support equipment during the latest phase of Operation Epic Fury, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine confirmed Thursday.

“As reported by U.S. CENTCOM yesterday, the US military dropped 5,000 pound penetrator weapons into underground storage facilities storing coastal defense cruise missiles and other support equipment,” Caine said at a Pentagon briefing with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. “These weapons are bespokely designed to get through concrete and/or rocks and function after penetrating those barriers.”

Coastal defense cruise missiles, which Iran has deployed along its coastline to target naval and commercial vessels transiting the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, have been a recurring focus of U.S. strikes since Operation Epic Fury began on Feb. 28.

The munitions are consistent with the GBU-72 Advanced 5K Penetrator, a bunker-buster, which U.S. officials confirmed made its combat debut in similar strikes on hardened coastal missile sites near the strait on Tuesday, The War Zone first reported.

The GBU-72 is a precision-guided, deep-burial defeat weapon designed for hardened and deeply buried targets. It uses GPS guidance and a high-explosive warhead optimized for post-penetration detonation. Developed to replace the GBU-28, which has been in service since 1991, the Air Force expects the GBU-72 to offer substantially higher lethality against deeply buried and fortified targets.

Warthog Versus The Mosquito: A-10s Hunting Iranian Suicide Boats in Gulf

The A-10 Thunderbolt is hunting down Iran’s enormous “mosquito fleet” of manned and drone suicide boats in the Gulf, again apparently proving the utility of a venerable airframe that the U.S. Air Force has been trying to retire for years.

Iran’s fleet of several hundred — perhaps more than a thousand — speedboat-size paramilitary attack boats are being hunted by the United States Air Force in the Gulf, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine said at a briefing on Thursday. Presenting an update on the status of Operation Epic Fury, General Caine revealed: “the A-10 Warthog is now in the fight across the southern flank, and is hunting and killing fast-attack watercraft in the Straits of Hormuz”.

The A-10 may be especially well suited to the role, given it benefits from a long loiter time and availability of mission-appropriate, highly destructive, and cost-effective munitions for hunting down unarmoured fibreglass boats. Among them is the A-10’s integral 30mm Gatling gun, the GAU-8 Avenger.

Caine said: “we continue to hunt and kill mine storage facilities and naval ammunition depots. We continue to hunt and kill afloat assets including more than 120 vessels and 44 minelayers and the pressure will continue”.

Lest we forget, it was the Dems who cut the funding for the VNAF in the closing days of the war, when tactical strikes against NVA Armor and troops could have stopped them. The North exploited that weakness with massed troops and armor columns.

The Dems would love to repeat that feat once again; the supplemental and restocking requests will give them the opportunity in the Senate. Expect the worst from them. Be nicely surprised, if both pass.

4,000 U.S. Troops Specialized In Amphibious Operations Will Deploy To Middle East

Published 12 hours ago

on March 19, 2026

By Cullen McCue

In a significant escalation of U.S. military presence in the Middle East, the Pentagon has ordered the deployment of an Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and attached Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), totaling roughly 4,000 service members. The latest deployment will include approximately 2,500 Marines and units specializing in amphibious operations, according to a report from Newsmax.

The report, which citied multiple U.S. officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity, elements of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, based in Japan, along with the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli, were initially redirected toward the region. This was done as part of a broader reinforcement, with the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and 11th MEU from the West Coast accelerating their deployment ahead of schedule to join operations.

The Boxer ARG includes the USS Boxer, USS Portland, and USS Comstock, equipped with F-35 fighter jets, missiles, amphibious vehicles, MV-22 Osprey tilt-rotors, and helicopters. The USS Tripoli will link up with these forces, potentially expanding to six amphibious ships and adding about 8,000 total service members — including between 4,000 and 5,000 Marines — to the region.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth approved the request from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), according to a report from the Associated Press.

Even in the Iraqi line of death or what ever it was called no A-10 succeeded in using its gun to take out a Tank - there may not be a single instance of that in the entirety of that war.

There was at least on simulator that conclusively proved that an A-10 lining up on a tank was more likely to come under fire it could not withstand.

Most tanks were taken out by F-15, F-18s, and US Abrams tanks.

Iran bombed Qatar's helium plant.

33% of global supply is gone.

Here's who's bleeding right now:

🇰🇷 South Korea — 64.7% of all helium imported from Qatar ($226.9M). Samsung and SK Hynix fabs on a countdown clock.

🇹🇼 Taiwan — home to TSMC, makes 18% of global chips. Said "monitoring situation." Translation: quietly panicking.

🇯🇵 Japan — major chip fab and MRI manufacturer hub. First to run out if Qatar outage extends beyond 60 days.

🇸🇬 Singapore — regional semiconductor hub. Heavy Qatar helium dependency flagged by Scientific American.

🇮🇳 India — imported helium from Qatar for thousands of hospital MRI machines. MRI costs already rising, scan delays starting.

🇩🇪 Germany — hosts major industrial gas distributors (Linde HQ). Helium spot prices up 100% — Linde, Air Liquide rationing supply.

🇺🇸 United States — federal helium reserve running down for years. US chip fabs still exposed. HP, Dell, Lenovo warned enterprise buyers: 15-20% price hike incoming.

🇬🇧 United Kingdom — NHS hospitals with MRI machines facing supply tightness. No domestic helium production.

🇫🇷 France — Air Liquide headquartered here but cannot produce new helium. Distribution-only country.

🇨🇳 China — imports helium for chip fabs and MRI. Could accelerate its own helium exploration in Siberian region (strategic play).

🇦🇺 Australia — Exporter, one of few alternatives. Helium production from Amadeus Basin, but NOT enough to fill Qatar's gap.

🇶🇦 Qatar — the source of 33% of the world's supply. Offline since March 2. CEO says 14% of capacity PERMANENTLY damaged for up to 5 years.

12 countries exposed.

33% of global supply gone overnight.

Zero substitutes.

No restart timeline.

Well Good Morning all,

This may be breaking news [ lower case ] - I have not seen it reported anywhere.

AC-130J Ghostriders are now forward deployed to an air base in Saudi. They are currently on standby.

While their primary mission is CAS, for which there is no know use at the moment, their primary role in this war is to back up rescue choppers in case a plane goes down in Iran, and for any Spec Ops missions. Whether they have been used in that later capacity, we will never know.

Much is made of the A-10s loiter time which, as posted above, is 1 hour and 58 minutes. AC-130's loiter time, depending on mission and conditions, is up to 10 hours ...

If there is any truth to the rumor of using Marines to take Kharg Island, expect them to play a part.

--
Specs:
Primary Missions: Close air support, air interdiction, and armed reconnaissance.

Crew: 9 personnel (2 pilots, 1 Combat Systems Officer, 1 Weapons Systems Officer, 1 sensor operator, 1 loadmaster, and 3 gunners).

Power Plant: Four Rolls-Royce AE 2100D3 turboprop engines (4,700 shaft horsepower each).
Range: Up to 3,000 miles (extended with air refueling).
Maximum Takeoff Weight: 164,000 lbs (74,400 kg).

Armament:
    Trainable 30 mm GAU-23/A cannon.
105 mm howitzer (mounted on the left side of the fuselage).

    Precision-guided munitions:
Up to eight GBU-39 Small Diameter Bombs (SDB).
        GBU-69 Small Glide Munitions.
AGM-114 Hellfire missiles (on wing pylons).
AGM-176 Griffin missiles (from 10 common launch tubes in the ramp/door).

Sensors & Avionics:
    Dual electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors.
Integrated digital flight deck with dual inertial navigation systems and GPS.
Side-mounted heads-up display (HUD) for pilots.
Advanced mission management and fire-control systems.

The AC-130J Ghostrider is not designed to operate in contested or high-threat environments with advanced air defenses. Its performance in such scenarios is severely limited due to inherent design characteristics:
Low Speed and Altitude: It flies slowly at low altitudes (around 7,000 feet), making it highly vulnerable to radar detection and surface-to-air threats.
Large Radar and Visual Signature: Its size and propeller-driven engines make it easily detectable and trackable by enemy air defense systems.
Lack of Stealth: The AC-130J has no stealth features, increasing its susceptibility to both radar-guided and infrared-guided weapons.

While equipped with defensive systems - such as the AN/ALR-56M radar warning receiver, AN/AAR-47 missile warning system, chaff/flares, and lightweight composite armor - these are primarily effective against MANPADS and basic radar threats, not advanced integrated air defense systems (IADS).

Historically, AC-130s have been restricted to permissive environments, such as counterinsurgency operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia, where enemy air defenses are minimal or nonexistent. In a near-peer conflict involving modern fighter jets, long-range SAMs, or AEW&C coverage, the AC-130J would require extensive suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD) and air superiority to survive - even then, its risk of attrition remains high.

RE: The Way of War of Our Enemies

In every hot war the United States has become involved in since the Korean War, we have enjoyed absolute tactical and operational dominance over our enemies.  We win every tactical engagement, overwhelmingly.  Operationally we can and do dominate any theater of our choosing.  No one—and I mean NO ONE—can stand toe to toe with the US military.

This has been true for decades.

We’ve talked before about the elements of national power—the “DIME” (Diplomacy, Informational, Military, Economic).

Our military power is unsurpassed.  We are masters of diplomacy.  We have the world’s strongest economy.

So how do we lose?  The INFORMATIONAL component.

Our military opponents, from Ho Chi Minh to Osama bin Ladin, knew that the only way to defeat the USA is to demoralize the American populace such that it demands withdrawal and throws the then current Commander-in-Chief out of office.  The ONLY way to defeat America militarily is to convince the American people that a war is unwinnable.

The slow dribble of IED deaths in OIF was not actually targeting soldiers and Marines—it was targeting YOU, the American people.  And CNN eagerly complied with death counts running across the bottom of the screen.

The Tet Offensive?  It was a decisive US victory that could have ended the Vietnam War in our favor.  But Walter Cronkite instead declared the war lost, protests erupted nationwide, and the war was lost.

The Highway of Death in Kuwait?  We could have taken out Saddam Hussein in 1991 and never needed to go back in 2003, but international media made the attack on retreating Iraqis look “too cruel,” so we halted just short of the finish line.

The strategic imperative of every one of America’s military enemies is to break the will of the American people with skewed information, propaganda, and extreme emphasis on America’s minor losses amidst overwhelming military victory.

But the Ho Chi Minhs and Osama bin Ladins can’t do that by themselves.  They need willing partners in the American media and government.

And for Operation Epic Fury, boy oh boy do the Iranian mullahs have an over abundance of American morale killers to draw from in order to defeat America through the informational instrument of national power.

Tucker Carlson.

Senator Mark Kelly and the rest of the Seditious Six.

CNN.

ABC.

NBC.

CBS.

NYT, WaPo.

Pakistani bot armies on social media.

X “influencers” like Cerno, Candace, MartyrMade and Ian Carroll.

Every idiot claiming we are fighting “Israel’s war."

There is an entire Army of American politicians and media figures who are willingly fighting Iran’s informational war on its behalf (and in some cases, at its behest).

America is DECISIVELY WINNING the war on Iran in every measurable respect.

Yet there are so many influential Americans who are desperately determined to make you believe otherwise.

In days of old in non-US countries, such people would have been strung up for treason.

Thankfully it’s 2026 and we have a First Amendment, so no one fear being treated in such a medieval manner.  But we can still ostracize and ridicule such people and sources for the irreparable harm they are wreaking upon the USA as they do the bidding (intentionally or unintentionally) of Theo-fascist mullahs who are determined to set off a nuclear bomb so that the Twelfth Imam will arise from a well in Qom and precipitate the global apocalypse.

We all need to choose sides.  Are you with America, or are you with theologic-inspired, deliberate Armageddon?

And anyone who chooses the latter needs to be the target of mockery, derision and clearly-stated facts disproving their lies.

And if YOU are an American Patriot, you can fight that informational war on America’s behalf, right now, right here on social media, right there in your own living room.  Your voice matters, and your voice is actually a part of the war.

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Which is why they are effective using Mavericks, and other ordnance. The time in line of sight on a target is prohibitive for gun runs against modern tanks, but by the time of the 'Highway of Death' targets were more likely stolen trucks and Mercedes than tanks. I do not recall many (any?) tanks in that debris column.
