Buyer’s remorse?  Not in Virginia by a long shot.  The democrats, who dominate this state, couldn’t be happier.  Christopher Newport University released a poll in late January showing a 60+% approval rating for Spanberger.. so I’m not sure where this “buyer’s remorse” narrative is coming from.

It looks like ol' Virginny has gone to the blue, and it won't be comin' back...

Correct.  Unless a flaming meteor takes out Northern VA, the Old Dominion is permanently blue.

Sounds like a plan.

The only hope we have is Youngkin running again. His campaign slogan should be "See I told you".
Seasrs thought she had it in the bag and didn't campaign until 3 months before the election and by that time it was too late.
You cannot serve two consecutive terms as governor in VA, which is why Youngkin didn't run.
The GOP was AWOL for Sears' campaign; even Trump did not give her an endorsement.
It got off to a poor start and did not really get it together.

Virginia is the Democrat’s model for 2028.

Run on a “moderate” message.

Get elected.

Then go to town by enacting every far left wing wish list item.

What is their state slogan, "Virginia is for Losers".

When a state or city goes from blue to red, democrats don't write off the area and walk away.  They double and triple down until they win it back.

But,  conservatives, genius political strategists that they are, not only run away --- they kick the voters on the way out and label them losers.  Toxic, thy name is conservative.

Conservatives should stand down while there's a chance this nation can be saved --- seriously.  You're a big part of the problem. Shoo ----

Well, I don't live in Virginia. But I do spend time there vacationing and visiting family, and I do know politics pretty damned well.

The reason the GOP lost the gubernatorial race is because the dysfunctional state Republican party isn't worth a warm bucket of spit when it comes to promoting, defending and funding conservatives.

They did little to help Winsome-Sears (and she didn't do nearly enough herself, it would appear).

And Donald Trump's lukewarm support for Sears was a liability more than an asset for the Republicans, even as his personal popularity numbers in VA are and have always been highly negative.

Trump polls slightly higher in Minnesota, for Pete's sake. If the Commonwealth's GOP had been united and focused on pocketbook issues rather than divisive social ones, neither Trump's tepid enthusiasm for the candidate, nor his unpopularity would have been such a big deal.

A better candidate would also have helped, but... that's water under the bridge. Enjoy your new Marxist governor.

Understatement of the century.  They didn't support Youngkin.  They didn't support Earle-Sears.  And they actively campaigned AGAINST Ken Cuccinelli.

You are mostly correct. it's not that Sears didn't run a good campaign, she didn't run a ny campaign until 3 months before the election.
Personally I think trump's lack of support was a good thing. NOVA and Richmond are cesspools of liberalism. Any support from her in those areas would have backfired..
Youngkin was able to win because he was able to make the issues personal. Biden was hated in most of VA and Limbaugh "Baby Killer" Northam like a rented mule.

The 19th Amendment was a terrible mistake.

No, I disagree. The ruling on the 14th amendment (due process and equal protection) allowing the right to same-sex marriage was a mistake and last year SCOTUS declined to hear the constitutionality of same sex marriage.  It opened up Pandora's box for the LGBTQ + whatever community.

Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
