I'm not! I'm firmly in the "May he burn in hell" camp.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Triple Double D damn.  Between the three of them.

I counted six.

RIP, Valerie. You were lovely and talented.

Probably her best known role, Miss Teschmacher in 1978's "Superman":

Oh no way, was just thinking about that movie/role a few weeks ago...

Songwriter Chip Taylor dies at 86
https://bestclassicbands.com/chip-taylor-songwriter-obituary-wild-thing-and-angel-of-the-morning-3-24-26/

Taylor's big hits included "Angel of the Morning" (for Merrilee Rush, and later Juice Newton) and "Wild Thing" (for The Troggs). Of particularly interesting trivia: Taylor was the brother of Jon Voight.

John Voight the actor or the dentist (Seinfeld reference, not that I'm an anti-dentite)?

Sid Krofft, 1970s television legend who worked with his brother Marty on countless kiddie and variety shows, dies at 96

Krofft's human-sized puppets first appeared on TV in the late 1960s when he and his younger brother Marty (who died in 2023) created the Banana Splits for Hanna-Barbera; from there, they split off and created the famously trippy H.R. Pufnstuf, Lidsville, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, and Land of the Lost for Saturday morning TV. From there, they moved to variety shows, including Donny & Marie and the infamous Brady Bunch Hour and Pink Lady & Jeff, which did not feature the famous puppet suits. They remained prolific into the early 1990s (after the one Krofft show I grew up with, the 90s version of Land of the Lost, ended its run); then they began a comeback in their 80s with the 2015 show Mutt & Stuff and remakes of a handful of their earlier properties.

Child actress Valerie Lee dies at 95

Valerie Lee Shepard-Haynes had a modest child acting career in the 1930s and 1940s, including bit roles in the Our Gang shorts and, most memorably, as an extra in the troupe of Munchkins in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, brought in when Singer's Midgets did not have enough little people to fill all the needed roles.

Her death leaves only two people known to have appeared on-screen in that film still alive: 107-year-old Caren Marsh (Doll), Dorothy's stunt double; and one other child actor who also appeared in the group of munchkins as Valerie had.

Moya Brennan of Clannad passed away.

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2026/apr/16/moya-brennan-obituary

She died April13, 2026 (aged 73) in Gaoth Dobhair, County Donegal, Ireland.

She is best remembered for her amazing voice in the theme song for Harry's Game, which was one of my mother's favorite songs.

I encourage you all to give this haunting song a listen...

Don Schlitz dies at 73

Schlitz was one of country music's most prolific songwriters and the only songwriter to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry as a member without a successful recording career beforehand. (He had recorded a few minor hits in the 1980s but never cracked the top 40 of the country charts.) His fame largely came after he began appearing on the Opry to sing "Forever and Ever, Amen," the hit he had written for Randy Travis, after Travis suffered a debilitating stroke in the early 2010s.

Schlitz's other famous hits included "When You Say Nothing at All," a major hit for both Keith Whitley and Alison Krauss; "The Gambler," Kenny Rogers's signature song (which had also been Schlitz's highest charting hit as a recording artist); and "The Greatest," a baseball-themed tune Rogers also recorded.
