Those bumpers are pretty common in these parts. While those and the small hubcaps cry out "cop!" to many, here they also mitigate front end damage in the event of a collision with a deer, and that can be a lifesaver in winter, preserving the ability to run the engine and provide heat, if not keep moving to where you can get help.
Not sure about Minnesota, but they have deer there, too. If the guy was working security, it would not be unusual for his vehicle to look like a cop car, form follows function, and appearing to be police and not just a 'rent-a-cop' helps do security without ever claiming to be anything else.
Considering the reports of large amounts of cash and multiple passports, I think there is a lot of stuff that amounts to misdirection in this case, and in the accounts of it. Everyone wants to fit this into someone else's' political motivation and the pegs are getting frayed from being hammered into the wrong shape holes.
So, let's back up and look at the things we DO know.
Regardless of lists and manifestos, we have someone who was set up to run (cash and passports), who hid their face from ring cameras (full head mask), who dressed as a cop to gain access and try to kill or kill the two Democrats who voted with Republicans on a specific issue.
Of all the people on the supposed list, they came first. Not the highest profile people on that list, whatever the political motivation of the shooter, so why them? Were they just 'handy', or were they THE primary targets?
Who were the other lawmakers whose homes he supposedly went to (no one home)? That may help establish motive, or may be more mud in the water (knew they weren't home, confuses motive by making them look like targets when they were not).
Hiding a targeted killing in a few irrelevant (seemingly unconnected) ones might deflect attention from the actual mission, and if a paid 'hit' would muddle the back trail to the 'contract' issuer.
Cui Bono? Why would the death of the victims be beneficial to anyone (or group)? Key to motive, unless this was the action of a raving madman--but there is an awful lot of planning involved for it just to be a 'nutter'. It reeks of something more complex than that, something with handlers or advisors in the background, perhaps even some sort of conspiracy. I am reminded of the Florida shooter who never got off a shot at Trump at the golf course, whose back trail is a mess.
The Left is blaming the Right, the Right is blaming the Left, and the answer might not lie in either place.
What other commonalities exist between the victims?
Is it just those votes or something else that provided motive (maybe even financial)?
The answer is there. The list may be a red herring.
That's the meat in this, all else is window dressing and may be designed to mislead.
