Netanyahu suggests Israel can strike Iran’s Fordow nuclear site, believed to be buried deep under a mountain, without US help
 By Ryan King
Published June 19, 2025, 5:30 p.m. ET

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly implied that his country is capable of attacking all of Iran’s nuclear facilities — even the secretive Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant, which is believed to be buried half a mile under a mountain.

Netanyahu insisted the Jewish state “will achieve all our objectives” despite many military experts doubting that the Jewish state has the capabilities of taking out the underground nuclear facility site.

“We will achieve all our objectives and hit all of their nuclear facilities. We have the capability to do that,” Netanyahu said when asked by a reporter about Fordow specifically.

Israel has struck several Iranian nuclear sites since launching its “Operation Rising Lion” airstrikes on the Islamic Republic, including a primary facility in Natanz, as well as ones near Tehran and Isfahan.

The Israelis have also taken out over a dozen top Iranian scientists and key military brass as well.

Thinking about it, the Chinese flights could have an innocent explanation. It is possible they were evacuating Chinese citizens.

Netanyahu: I understand the true cost of war - my own son had to postpone his wedding
Independent/UK, Jun 20, 2025

Benjamin Netanyahu has sparked outrage after suggesting he understands the “personal cost” of Israel’s war with Iran - because his son had to postpone his wedding.

The Israeli prime minister made the remarks in a solemn address to TV cameras while standing in front of the ruins of a hospital in the southern city of Beersheba, hours after it was hit by Iranian missiles. Officials said at least 40 people were injured in the attack on Thursday.

"There are people who were killed, families who grieved loved ones, I really appreciate that,” Netanyahu said, comparing the attacks on Israel to the blitz in Britain during World War II.

“Each of us bears a personal cost, and my family has not been exempt. This is the second time that my son Avner has cancelled a wedding due to missile threats. It is a personal cost for his fiancee as well, and I must say that my dear wife is a hero, and she bears a personal cost.”

Benjamin Netanyahu has evoked the spirit of London during the blitz, and pointed to his own family’s sacrifice amid the blood, toil, tears and sweat of his nation: the second postponement of his son’s wedding.

The Israeli prime minister’s remarks, solemnly delivered to the cameras against the backdrop of a missile-struck hospital building in the southern city of Beersheba, set off a howl of derision that echoed around the Hebrew-language internet, at the height of a war that Netanyahu unleashed on Friday.

Seeking to underline his family’s shared hardship with ordinary Israelis, Netanyahu adopted a Churchillian tone when pointing out that this was not the first time his son Avner’s wedding had needed to be postponed, and that Avner’s fiancee was also disappointed, not to mention the thwarted mother of the groom, Netanyahu’s wife, Sara.

“It really reminds me of the British people during the blitz. We are going through a blitz,” Netanyahu said, referring to the wartime Nazi bombing of Britain in which 43,000 civilians died.

[...]

"I have been in the hellish dungeons of Gaza for 622 days now,” Angrest said in a post on the social media platform X.

Gilad Kariv, a Knesset member for the Democrats, called Netanyahu a “borderless narcissist”.

“I know many families who were not forced to postpone a wedding, but who will now never celebrate the weddings that were once meant to take place,” Kariv said.

He was contemptuous of Netanyahu’s claim that his wife, Sara, notorious in Israel for her expensive tastes, was a hero.

"The doctors who leave home for night shifts are the heroes,” Kariv said. “The teachers who keep our children together on Zoom and phone calls are the heroes.”

Amir Tibon, an Israeli journalist, argued that public figures whose children had been killed in combat would never draw attention to the fact.

“But there are no surprises with Netanyahu,” Tibon said. “Even in moments when a personal example is most needed, he is first and foremost concerned with himself.”

Israel will NOT stand down and wait for the fickle flip-flops of Trump. Trump has his schedule which he has defined as 'within two weeks'. Israel has their own schedule which is defined as now, or as soon as possible.

Deciding whether to commit his military to war with Iran on his timetable is "fickle"??

Huh?  Potentially starting World War III is not a decision that needs to be taken lightly.

Wooof!  A frightful sight for the bad guys.

We would never land a B-2 this close to an enemy.  The B-2s we used against the Taliban were based in Missouri and literally flew around the world to strike their targets.  Any B-2 strikes against Iran would be based far away from any threats.  Somewhere like Diego Garcia.

Yep. Agreed. I believe they are in Missouri with air tankers on the ready for refueling. Nice clip, though.

Hyperbole much?

Seriously, if the US destroys Iran's nuclear facility then how exactly would that turn into 'World War Three"?

Who will Iran's allies be in this war?

With what will Iran destroy the world?

It may end up with a war, true enough. But a World War? Over Iran?

Trump Hints At Potential Breakthrough In Middle East: ‘We’re Speaking To Iran’

Published 1 hour ago

on June 20, 2025

By Mark Steffen

A breakthrough in the Israel-Iran conflict may be on the horizon, according to President Donald Trump, who told reporters on Friday afternoon that a conversation about the real conversation has already begun.

The Republican arrived in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he will spend Friday evening at his eponymous golf course as he hosts a fundraising dinner in support of his political action committee. Shortly after descending the stairs of Air Force One, President Trump fielded a question from the press pool about the status of negotiations with Iran, which earlier in the day called for an end to airstrikes before discussing a long-term deal.

“Will you make that request?” a journalist asked about whether he would ask Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to refrain from further bombing.

“Well, I think it’s very hard to make that request right now,” explained Trump. “If somebody’s winning, it’s a little bit harder to do than if somebody’s losing.”

Netanyahu has vowed to eliminate Iran’s nuclear enrichment program, which officials have insisted is meant purely for civilian purposes but which Israel and international observers have claimed is guided by the search for an atomic weapon.

President Trump then revealed for the first time that U.S. officials have already been holding talks with Iran.

“We’re ready, willing, and able, and we’ve been speaking to Iran, and we’ll see what happens,” he added.

Another reporter asked for his “thought process” behind offering a two-week window to weigh whether he proceeds with direct attacks on Iran. Trump clarified that he hopes it is enough time for “people to come to their senses.”

On Friday, emissaries from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany met with Iranian officials for high-level talks, which they framed as an accomplishment that President Trump could not make.

Asked if he thought the talks in Geneva were helpful, Trump replied immediately, “No, they didn’t help. Iran doesn’t want to speak to Europe.”

Israel carries out strikes in Tehran as defense minister sends warning to Iranian proxy

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed Saturday that missiles were launched from Iran toward Israel, triggering sirens in multiple regions.

"A short while ago, sirens sounded in several areas across Israel following the identification of missiles launched from Iran toward the State of Israel," the IDF said in a statement.

The Israeli Air Force is actively working to intercept the threats: "At this time, the IAF is operating to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat."

Officials are warning that the missile defense system is not airtight. "The defense is not hermetic, therefore, it is essential to continue following the instructions of the Home Front Command," the IDF added.

The public is urged to stay in shelters and follow emergency guidance as the situation develops......
