Wall Street Journal Slams Donald Trump’s ‘Sellout’ Of Ukraine With A Scathing Reality Check

The conservative Wall Street Journal continued taking swipes at Donald Trump this week with two editorials — published in as many days — that called out the U.S. president’s purported bid to end Russia’s war on Ukraine.

On Tuesday, the newspaper’s editorial board called out what it described as “the looming rehabilitation” of Russian President Vladimir Putin, facilitated by Trump, as negotiations to end the conflict — which Putin began with the invasion of Ukraine in 2022 — began between U.S. and Russian officials in Saudi Arabia. Ukrainian officials were notably not invited to participate in the meeting to decide their fate.
 
The Journal reminded readers of just some of the horrors of Putin’s brutal campaign in Ukraine — such as the killing or maiming of hundreds of thousands of people, the targeting of civilian’s homes and the kidnapping of Ukrainian-born children. It contrasted all that, and more, with Trump’s talk about inviting Putin to America.

How would those two leftist rags, HuffPo and WSJ have any earthly idea what is going on with Trump much less care unless they can bash Trump.  How do they know Trump and Zelensky aren't in secret contact to soften Putin.  They don't.

WSJ is not a leftist rag, but there are elements of Bush-Cheney faction still polluting the place.  Also an element there that realizes that producing and selling arms is still a substantial source of capitalistic pride.

It was Europe that rejected NATO membership for Ukraine back in 2006, when it actually might have done some good.

If America hadn't gotten involved then, all of Europe would be German now.

Similarly, doing nothing now - when Russia has clearly shown its malicious and warlike intentions - would give Europe to Russia.

But, the EU has not held it's held up moral and financial obligation on this matter. I resent  my tax dollars the past 4 years being put in Zellinsky's grubby hands.  That same money  could have been better spent closing the border.  And let the likes of the wealthy Germans, Brits, and French to front the bill. You realize that Russia is like now No. 11 in the world in GDP, and dropping like a rock?  Do you also realize that the Rouble is at an all time low, with a Rouble worth about an American penny?  The are about a $20-$30/bbl of oil potential drop to totally collapse their economy

If Putin doesn't cooperate, and his economy collapses.  He'll lose 100K to 200K of the remaining 700K troops there to starvation, and to the locals taking retribution. Russians love chess, and I bet Vlad knows that mate is coming if he doesn't budge.  I am betting he blinks.
