Appeasement doesn’t work, and trump giving Putin everything he wants to end the war, makes America and himself look WEAK. Hopefully it isn’t the case, and they negotiate a good deal. But watching trump this morning, I can’t help notice he was far more friendly towards Putin than he was to his allies. It’s a worrisome development.

Russia has thrown all it has into trying to retake more Ukrainian territory before any peace deal is offered. They will be unable to keep this up much longer before total collapse. In addition, Ukraine is quickly destroying Russia's primary income source, oil exports. Let them burn themselves down. There's no reason to let Russian aggression pay off as long as Ukrainians are willing to fight.

Is this just a stalling tactic on Putin's part? To try to grab more land?

When the Soviets or their proxies were losing their wars, or at a disadvantage, they always would negotiate to buy time to gain an advantage.

The best way to end this sh!tshow:  The US packs up its marbles, grabs its checkbook and ATM card, blocks phone numbers of European leaders and walks away --- leaving this to the inbred Europeans who think war is a sport.

i believe Rubio is confusing two different events.  Where did the $500 billion number come from?  If Zelenskiy was the originator of that figure, then Rubio has a valid point.

That $500 billion number came from Trump, as usual.  And I think they tried to do another "bait and switch" on Zelensky but he read the fine print and said "no way!" Vance and Rubio promised security guarantees in the verbal deal but those weren't included in the document that Kellogg presented to Zelensky.

At this point, I don't trust anything Trump says or does concerning Ukraine.  He's just as bad faith as Putin.  And the Ukrainians have learned their lesson from the 1994 Bucharest Memorandum...vague security guarantees outside of treaties are worthless.

Putin's already invaded and occupied Ukraine, Transnistria, and Georgia.

Putin is not going to part with $300 Billion to rebuild Ukraine, well, not free Ukraine.



Notice something familiar in Transnistria's flag above?  Putin's trying to reunite the USSR-Warsaw Pact band.

A couple different sources are saying Trump has told Ukraine to surrender to Russia within three weeks.

I am uncertain of the truth of this.  :shrug:
