Anarchy would ensue as that would open a much wider door well beyond just the pardon power, in challenging each and every decision made by Biden as President.

It is why no federal court ever accepted a challenge to the 2020 election.

Makes me wonder that, for the bureaucrats here that worked in the administration or military, of whether the President as Chief Executive can simply abort their pensions and other side benefits if he chose to?

Don't know if there exist limits on his power to do so.

Another legal strategy would be to indict Biden once he leaves office.  (influence peddling, possession of classified documents, tax evasion, etc.)  Biden's only defense would be mental competence.  And if he goes that route, then his pardons would become null and void.

While there might be something else we don't know about, the reason for the date is something really important that's a matter of public record:  If you look up when the grant proposal from the EcoHealth Alliance entitled "UNDERSTANDING THE RISK OF BAT CORONAVIRUS EMERGENCE" was funded by Fauci's agency, the date on the grant is June 1, 2014.  That was the grant that paid for the development of COVID-19 at the Wuhan Institute for Virology, since gain-of-function research was illegal to conduct in the US.
