I would suggest the IRS might be interested in the charities tax exempt status as these distributed funds might not represent definitions of charitable expenditures.

We now have an IRS which is interested in more than simply denying Christian and conservative groups from tax exempt status.

Farmers Insurance Estimates $600 Million ‘Loss’ Due to California Wildfires

Farmers Insurance estimated that it would lose roughly $600 million as a result of the Los Angeles area wildfires that occurred in California at the beginning of the year.

The insurance company, which is described as being one of the United States’s “largest insurers of vehicles, homes and small businesses” that provides “a wide range of other insurance and financial services products,” explained that the “figure includes payments from its reinsurance program but not an expected assessment from the FAIR Plan,” according to the Los Angeles Times.

In a press release from the insurance company, Farmers Insurance explained that “initial estimates indicate an expected loss resulting from the wildfires of $0.6 billion, net of the per occurrence reinsurance program and gross of tax (excludes the Farmers share of FAIR Plan losses) and approximately $0.25 billion reinstatement premium payment.”

Breitbart News’s Joel Pollak previously reported that due to the policies of California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and the state’s Democratically-run government, several insurance companies have canceled “many of their fire insurance polices,” which led to many residents “losing their policies” prior to the Los Angeles area wildfires.

In June 2023, Breitbart News reported that Allstate Insurance had “quietly stopped selling new homeowner and business insurance” in the state. Other insurance companies such as State Farm also previously decided to end insurance coverage for home owners and businesses due to the “increased risk of wildfires.”

The Los Angeles Times noted that “like other carriers over the past several years, Farmers had retreated from the state’s home insurance market, limiting the number of policies it would issue.”

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who has come under intense scrutiny for traveling to Africa last month amid a botched fire response, is deflecting blame on the controversial trip.

"I felt absolutely terrible not being here for my city," Bass, a Democrat, told a Fox 11 Los Angeles reporter in a recent interview.

"Would I say it was a mistake, absolutely. The idea that I was not present was very painful," she added, saying that proper "preparation didn't happen" to notify her ahead of the Ghana trip.

She said she would not have even traveled south to San Diego had she been given the proper "preparation" about the fire danger.

"It didn’t reach that level to me to say 'Something terrible could happen and maybe you shouldn’t have gone on the trip,'" the Democrat added.

"I think that’s one of the things we need to look at, everything that happened, including that, needs to be examined," she continued, revealing that there are at least two investigations into the city's response to the fires.

The National Weather Service put out the "fire weather warning" on Jan. 3 and the mayor left for Africa the next day. She did not return until Jan. 8, according to Fox 11 LA.

Something I wish Trump would do is to withhold Federal funds to state and local jurisdictions if they don't allow disaster survivors to commence clean up and rebuilding within sixty days.

People in Lahaina, Hawaii are looking at 3+ years for approval to rebuild and some are being prohibited from rebuilding so the state can seize their property.

During an interview with ABC7 Los Angeles on Friday, Los Angeles City Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez said L.A. Mayor Karen Bass removing LAFD Fire Chief Kristin Crowley from her position is “deferring the responsibility to an individual that, frankly, was on the job when this incident occurred. And it’s infuriating to me that she would be made the scapegoat in all of this.” And said that Bass failed to ensure there were repairs to fire apparatus that wasn’t available during the fires.

Rodriguez said, “I was incredibly outraged upon learning about her dismissal. And Chief Crowley has been an incredible leader for the L.A. city Fire Department since her appointment. She is someone who has ascended the ranks, has accomplished — particularly for a woman in the fire service to have ascended and served in so many ranks, from paramedic, to fire marshal, to ultimately becoming the Chief of the L.A. city Fire Department, she really grew in the world-class department that we are so proud to have. And so, one of the things that really troubled me is this idea that she didn’t respond to the after-action report. That is standard protocol, and that, frankly, is not something that ever happens quickly, nor is it something that I’ve ever experienced in all of the incidents that Chief Crowley has been a part of, refused to participate in.”

She added, “So, I just feel like it has just been deferring the responsibility to an individual that, frankly, was on the job when this incident occurred. And it’s infuriating to me that she would be made the scapegoat in all of this. Because I’ve known nothing but Chief Crowley to be the consummate professional when it comes to the fire service.”
