The character assassination won't stop Gaetz from being AG. The DOJ investigated and later ended the investigation with no charges being filed. Why would the House do anything unless a group of members just wanted to damage him.

If 20 Pubs in the Senate could vote for Garland to be AG because "elections have consequences" they can vote for their own party's POTUS pick. If they don't want to they can find out how good America First voters memory is. I believe all but 1 of the House Pubs who voted to impeach Trump is now gone.

 GOP senators: Gaetz nomination to head Justice in serious trouble

Republican senators are warning that Rep. Matt Gaetz’s (R-Fla.) nomination to serve as President-elect Trump’s attorney general is in serious trouble, even though Republicans will control 53 seats next year.

Gaetz will get a chance to make his case for why he should lead the Justice Department, but Republican senators warn he faces an “uphill” path to confirmation.

In addition, Republican senators are supporting the call made Thursday by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) for the House Ethics Committee to release the findings of its investigation of Gaetz for alleged sexual misconduct and illicit drug use.

Two moderate Republican senators, Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Susan Collins (R-Maine), have already expressed strong reservations about Gaetz’s nomination to serve as attorney general.

Four Republicans would need to vote against Gaetz to sink his nomination, and GOP members warn he is likely to encounter resistance from other members of their conference.

It's like the Pubs never want to learn. Trump is loved by his supporters because he fights. He doesn't quit, he fights. Maybe if the Senate Pubs actually fought to support Trump and his nominees we would have 57 Pub Senators.

Gaetz is going to be the AG. His hearings will be must see TV and all the accusations which never led to any indictments will be shown for what they are. If after all that, Pub Senators won't vote for him he will be a recess appointment and those Senators will find out how much the American people hate the deep state.

Republicans haven't even stepped into power yet, but they are already showing voters what a mistake it was to vote for them.  They simply cannot handle being the majority power.  Once again, we see why they call it 'the Stupid Party'.

With a 50-50 split, Democrats were able to get everything they wanted and more.  But when the GOP leads by 53-47 (plus the VP), they can't get squat done.  Idiots.
