BREAKING: Donald Trump announces Matt Gaetz will be his Attorney General

Well said! I'm going to start repeating this when talking with people.

One reason Gaetz will be confirmed is the Senators who vote against him will not only see challenges in primaries, but can expect Trump will ignore requests from them. Trump knows how to play hardball!

Let's go back to Jan 2022 for a moment.  Remember the House vote for putting Kevin McCarthy in the Speaker's chair.  Vote after vote after vote, there was a very small group of Conservative stalwarts who bemoaned the McCarthy choice and demanded we have someone who was not loyal to the Establishment instead.  This small cadre of Conservatives were holding up House business.  Heck, even Trump was backing McCarthy.  But the Conservatives knew better.  They refused to fold.  In the midst of the debate, things got so heated that a Republican rep tried to taking a swing at Gaetz on the House floor.  So what was Gaetz' response.  On the very next vote, he voted against McCarthy.  He did not waver.

THIS is the guy I want tearing apart the Justice Department.  A guy who won't back down.

Well stated.  My only reservation is he needs discretion on picking the battles he wishes to win.  He must be able to get very good advice from learned conservative lawyers on how to approach the tangled legal system, and most importantly, understand which judges are ones to to best use in his legal challenges.

It will be challenging and he needs not to just rant and pout but to dredge for good people and use them wisely.

As a Judiciary Committee member, I expect the FBI background check on Gaetz to include findings&conclusions of DOJ’s criminal investigation of sex trafficking&other allegations. Any nominee vetting would be required to include such factual info&evidence of claimed criminality.

I've had enough of this so-called "House ethics report" on Matt Gaetz. The underlying allegations are so laughable and flimsy that the only purpose of it is to smear Gaetz.

Here are the facts:

The "report" comes YEARS after DOJ dropped its investigation into the same claims. Why did the DOJ drop the investigation? Because the claims hinge on the testimony of two witnesses who have such gaping credibility issues, that even the DOJ, which hates Gaetz, knew no jury would ever convict him.

Who are these witnesses?

1) Joel Greenberg, who has been described as "one of the most corrupt Florida politicians of all time" and who has literally made false sex allegations against a politician before! He accused an innocent school teacher who was running against him for tax-collector of having sex with an underaged student. Sound familiar? A judge called the lies "downright evil."

2) Greenberg became embroiled in a series of crimes and faced a possible 27 years in federal prison. One of these crimes was having sex with an underage minor, the same 17-year-old who is the central character in the claims against Gaetz. BUT, even Greenberg claims he didn't know she was underage because she LIED about her age! She is now active on OnlyFans, selling sexual access for money, and has appeared in porn videos. Go figure.

According to a 2023 lawsuit, Greenberg repeatedly begged Gaetz to secure a pardon for him, and when Gaetz refused, Greenberg vowed vengeance.

An inmate who shared a cell with Greenberg told two federal agents that Greenberg told him that the woman “would be willing to adopt Greenberg’s lie in hopes of a future financial benefit." Greenberg admitted to paying the woman's legal bills in a text to a friend!

Yes this is all ridiculous. Yes it is all clearly contrived lies. Will the media still use it to tar and feather Gaetz? Absolutely. Geatz has made a career of picking fights no one else in Washington had the stomach to pick. They fear him at the DOJ more than anyone.

And that's exactly why we need him running the Department of Justice—he's the only one with the guts to fight the most important fights at the DOJ and root out the corruption we've seen on full display these last 8 years.

House Ethics Committee Sets Stage to Defy Speaker Johnson and Release Matt Gaetz Report

House Ethics Committee Chairman Michael Guest (R-MS) signaled his committee is likely to ignore Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) recommendation to withhold releasing its investigation of Matt Gaetz (R-FL).

Matt Gaetz, who stepped down after President-elect Donald Trump announced his nomination for Attorney General, is no longer a member of the House and therefore no longer under the committee’s purview. Johnson has openly opposed the release of the report and urged the committee to withhold it, a sentiment he relayed personally to Guest over the weekend, the chairman told Politico.

“I appreciate Mike reaching out,” Guest told Politico. “I don’t see it having an impact on what we as a committee ultimately decide.”

The committee meets Wednesday, where it is expected to discuss whether or not to release its report on Gaetz.

The reason Gaetz is being smeared is because he will actually pursue reforming the DOJ and  may prosecute those who violated the law.

When he gets in after clearing out the upper echelon, I want investigations into the: Clinton, Obama, Biden, and Pelosi crime families. I want the results published, and then I want criminal trials.
