Republicans flip fourth Senate seat, this time in Pennsylvania

The Republican candidate unseats longtime Democratic senator by less than one percent.

Republican challenger Dave McCormick narrowly defeated Democratic incumbent Sen. Bob Casey of Pennsylvania on Thursday.

McCormick won the seat with 48.9%of the vote while Casey managed to secure 48.5%, according to Politico. Pennsylvania is the fourth Senate seat Republicans have flipped this election cycle, alongside Montana, West Virginia, and Ohio.

Republicans now hold the majority in the Senate with 53 seats while Democrats hold 45 seats. The Nevada and Arizona Senate races have not been called yet.

Casey has served as one of Pennsylvania's two senators since he was first elected in 2006, winning his three elections by substantial margins. This time around, McCormick was able to overcome Casey's nearly eight-point lead in August and turn it into a 0.4-point loss in November.

With all the great news, I hate to be a bringer of some in the "not so good" category

At this exact moment- 8 November 08:41 CDT from RCP

Here is the exact snap shot of the House status, based on who is ahead in uncalled districts.

Right Now:  GOP 201 DEM-  195

Of the remaining 39 uncalled congressional districts.  GOP is leading in 16 Seats, Democrats 23 Seats.  If this holds the makeup of the 2025-2026 House of Representatives will be 218 DEMS 217 GOP.

Some of these are still razor close, but.....

Well.....  I hope you and  they are right, and maybe they have some internal data, I don't have. 

My methodology was based looking at every called race at RCP compliation, and then going to each of the remaining uncalled 39, and using this exact moment's tally.

That could be...  Some of the Electoral tabulators may have data or other trends of uncounted precincts that I don't , that that might substantiate the difference.  Again, my tally is based on this morning's snapshot of the count of uncalled seats.
