Our little state has undergone a remarkable turnaround in the past few years, after many decades of being completely controlled by the Democrat party. This year, every county went for Trump, every county went for the R candidate for U.S. Senate (who is a complete buffoon, but still better than the alternative, sad to say), we elected a good conservative governor, the state senate is 32/34 Republican, the house of delegates is now 91/100 Republican, and all of our Congressional representatives - House and Senate - are Republican. It's a complete 180 degree flip, and I never thought the day would come.

When I ran for house of delegates in 2012, voter registration in the state was about 3:1 Democrat. My county was 3.5:1 Democrat. Nevertheless, when I lost my race by only 52%-48%, it appeared things were beginning to change. Before that, we never even had a Republican candidate for that office. But things definitely changed: This year, the R candidate for house of delegates was reelected with 72% of the vote in our county.

It's really quite amazing.

Ignoring them or treating them as a guaranteed vote will result in them being recaptured by the democrats.  A little wooing every so often goes a long way, both in marriage and in politics.

No argument, here, but being fair instead of treating people as poster children is wooing for those abused by such politics. A meritocracy favors most of the folks I know, and being pro-family is a welcome change from the man-hate and baby killing politics of the Left.

Late to the party, great week to be an American.

It occurs to me, after listening and reading to pundits from both sides of the political spectrum (this has been a GREAT week to watch both CNN and MSNBC), that this election was not only an unequivocal repudiation of the past four years, but that it soundly challenges the idea there was absolutely nothing wrong with the 2020 election and repudiates Neocons, Never Trumpers, the Cheney clan, and to a degree the Bushes. Time for all of them to be relocated to the dustbin of history.

It's a new GOP. It is without question Trump's GOP, and the people are standing solidly behind him.

I was talking to my 28 year-old son about how Trump engineered the kind of seismic shift Reagan accomplished in the 80's, but he just said "Reagan was no Trump".

Every generation needs their own Ronald Reagan. Who am I to judge?

That lady behind JD would be his Mamaw, who did more to raise him than his Mom.  JD says in his book that she got her way in the Hillbilly town by being insane.  She was an unholy terror to those not in the family, and they stayed well clear of her wrath.  People inside the family did so, as well.

Casey v. McCormick.  Casey won't concede.

No calculator used, but after eyeballing Pennsylvania counties, I don't believe there's enough uncounted votes left in Philly to reverse the result.

Sad and pathetic that a 3 term senator has been reduced to groveling, and is leaving claw marks on his seat on the way out.  Nice way to finish off your family's legacy..

I still have NT bones, and still feel he isn't conservative enough.  But granted, I don't think there is really anyone more conservative than I am anyway.    I too, will watch the next four years, and will comment objectively.  I have high hopes, and will support POTUS likely 90% of the time though (a guess)

Trump is the first President I've voted for who has won... twice now. I actually voted for him 3 times for President... never in the primaries.

I turned 18 in 1994.
1996 - didn't vote
2000 - voted for ralph whatever his name is. Unsafe at any speed guy. Yeah, I used to be a liberal
2004 - skipped
2008 - voted libertarian, bob barr I think
2012 - voted for mittens, lost
2016,2020, and now 2024... voted Trump.

It's been a weird ride.

I was the 3rd Republican in the History of my County.  (1975).  Voting?  I have never voted for a democrat in my entire 50 year voting life... So I guess I come across as a Right Wing radical   My history-

I was never a Never but I wasn’t thrilled either. Now, I’m all in.

I never voted for Trump at all in 2016 and was very vocal here as to my reasons. By 2020 I would have crawled over a mile off broken glass in order to vote for him. That election was stolen and THAT really pissed me off!
