- $1,100,000,000 to Afghanistan.
- $1,100,000,000 to Somalia.
- $1,000,000,000 to Yemen.

Welp, unless we stop subsidizing people to live in these prone areas, it'll never stop.

I have lived through 10 hurricanes. Have paid millions in in income tax, and received zero funds from anyone including the Feds after any of these disasters.  I paid my deductable, and worked through it with my insurance, just like 99% of everyone else I knew.

So ... Please provide a specific example of exactly what you are talking about.

These people are getting more than $750. They are being put up in hotels, their homes and business repaired etc
From FEMA:
Funds may also be available to repair storm-related damage to homes and personal property, as well as assistance to find a temporary place to stay. There are three ways to apply for FEMA assistance: Online by visiting disasterassistance.gov. Calling 1-800-621-3362.3 days ago

FEMAis helping peoplde pay utility bills, food and medical care and helping people repair their homes(if they do not have insurance)

https://www.fema.gov/press-release/20241003/north-carolinians-may-be-eligible-transitional-sheltering-hotels

Individuals and households may be eligible if they cannot return to their disaster-damaged home and their housing needs cannot be met by insurance, shelters or rental assistance provided by FEMA or another agency.

Under the TSA program, FEMA pays the cost of room, taxes and non-refundable pet fees directly to participating hotels and motels. Pet fees will only be paid up to the approved limit of assistance for individual rooms. Survivors are responsible for all other costs, including laundry, restaurant/room service, parking, telephone, or movie rental.

Eligible survivors may stay in participating TSA hotels in Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. To locate participating hotels, visit femaemergencyhotels.com/ and enter your FEMA registration number, obtained when you applied for FEMA assistance.

An initial eligibility review will be conducted 60-days after the check-in date. When eligibility ends, survivors will be notified by FEMA seven days prior to checkout date.

That says people may be eligible. It doesn't confirm that FEMA's giving them anything. My area had serious flooding last April. To date, no one who applied for assistance has received a dime from FEMA.

When the dust settles, it is going to be interesting to contrast the Helene and Katrina responses by the Feds.

Not that we would get any truth from the MSM.

Is that just rumour or fact? Just because someone you know has not received assistance does not mean anyone else has. Was your area declared a FEMA disaster zone for starters?

GWB showed up 5 days after and FEMA under his command was lackluster at best. FEMA was coordinating on the ground with the gov and responders days before Helena hit land.

And FEMA performance was lackluster BECAUSE the DEMOCRTAT governor (Kathleen Blanco) refused to let them in until it was far too late you friggin idiot! @banddag

Give it a  day or two for the real story to come out.  People in Tn was saying FEMA was confiscating private supplies and it turned out to be totally bogus.

@ClimateAudit
actually, the lesson from Helene is the opposite from that being promoted.

In 1933, the Tennessee Valley Authority was given the mandate for flood control in the valley of the Tennessee River and its tributaries.  Over the next 40 years, they built 49 dams, which, for the most part, accomplished their goal.  Whereas floods in the Tennessee were once catastrophic, younger people are mostly unaware of them.

The French Broad River (Asheville) is an upstream tributary where flood control dams weren't constructed due to local opposition.

Rather than the devastation of Hurricane Helene on Asheville illustrating the effect of climate change,  the success of the flood control dams in other sectors of the Tennessee Valley illustrates the success of the TVA flood control program where it is implemented.

Hurricane Helene did not show the effect of climate change, but what happens to settlements in Tennessee Valley tributaries under "natural" flooding (i.e. where flood control dams have been rejected.)
