Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Several new details in this brand new clip.

Shooter had detonators in his pocket, and he locked eyes with a Secret Service sniper through his rangefinder, before the attack.

WAIT……… what are the using water for…. Omg

They quite literally are washing away evidence

Apparently, the roof was not too steep for that.

Since WHEN has any law enforcement agency provided “clean-up” services???

“This Should Have Been Identified”: Security Expert Explains Failures
By Staff, Glenn Beck

It's clear that many things went wrong with security on the day of Trump's near-assassination at his rally in Pennsylvania. "The Secret Service, in my view, is inept," Glenn says. Former Department of Defense intelligence analyst Jason Buttrill, who spent years planning and leading protective details for politicians, stars, and other high-profile people, joins to explains what he believes the biggest failures were. Why weren't law enforcement officers placed on the rooftop the attacker used? Should the Secret Service have shot first? Why has it taken so long for the government to release more information on the killer? And — scariest of all — did he work alone?

Transcript

...........

GLENN: All right. We have Jason Buttrill with us. Who is my chief researcher.

.............GLENN: Yeah. But I will tell you, that we have had many dealings with Secret Service. And without getting into any of the details, but I would be running to testify on it, the Secret Service is in my view, inept. It's nothing against the agents or anything. I think the people who run it, they rely on money and technology, and they just don't think.

And we have seen things that could get people killed, quite honestly. We've experienced it, with the Secret Service ourselves.

And I've been warning about this, for a very, very long time.

Now, Jason, you have actually planned events like this with the Secret Service. You have been with major politicians, and done major events, not only with me, but with others. And worked side by side with the Secret Service. How could this have happened?

JASON: I'm glad you had me on today, Glenn. Because I saw a lot of speculation. I think it's important to understand how these things happened.

How did we get to where we got to on Saturday. And I just want to briefly run down.

I will reveal a few tricks of the trade here. I think it's good for crazy people and potential attackers to know this as well, to know how difficult it is..........................

According to Ronny Jackson, the former White House doctor who became a Texas congressman, Trump lost “a little bit” of his ear when the bullet grazed him on Saturday.

“I checked his ear out,” Jackson said. “I went up and dressed his ear this morning.”

The exact injuries on Trump have not been disclosed yet but Jackson said the former president was “lucky” to have survived.

Four unanswered questions about Trump assassination attempt
By
Ashley Oliver
July 17, 2024 7:00 am

excerpt:

Quote
Why wasn’t the roof secure?

Crooks obtained access to the roof of a building owned by a glass research company, and videos circulating online show bystanders observing him crawling on top of the facility for nearly a minute while Trump was speaking. Some observers could be heard calling out for police to respond.

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who has worked at the agency for 25 years, said during an interview with ABC News that her team identified the building ahead of the rally but opted to secure it from the inside rather than from the roof of it because of the roof’s slant. The explanation fell flat on social media, where critics shared images of law enforcement officers working on slanted roofs.

“That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point, and so, you know, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof,” Cheatle said. “And so, you know, the decision was made to secure the building from inside.”

What was the gunman’s motive?

The FBI announced this week that it gained access to Crooks’s phone and completed investigations of his home and vehicle.

The bureau, however, provided no information about what prompted Crooks’s attempt on Trump’s life. Even after searching Crooks’s phone, the FBI still had not determined a motive, according to NBC News.

Records matching Crooks’s description show he was a registered Republican but donated $15 to the “Progressive Turnout Project PAC” on Jan. 20, 2021, Trump’s last day in office. His parents told the Wall Street Journal they were unaware of what political leanings their son may have had.

How did he get past police in the building?

Cheatle said during the interview that the Secret Service was responsible for the inner perimeter of the rally, while local law enforcement in Butler County was responsible for the outer area.

Armed local police were inside the building when Crooks hoisted himself up onto the roof using an air conditioning unit, meaning the police would have had no eyes on the outside of the building, according to CNN.

What took so long to stop the gunman?

A countersniper shot and killed Crooks seconds after he opened fire, but it remains unclear why he was ever able to take a shot at all when law enforcement had become concerned about him before he crawled onto the roof.

Well before Crooks accessed the rooftop, he became a person of interest during the rally security screening process.

One report said he passed through magnetometers with a rangefinder, which is a firearm accessory used to take long shots, three hours before the shooting. This prompted authorities conducting screenings to keep an eye on him.

Another report said observers noticed him acting erratically around the metal detectors, leading local police to alert the Secret Service about him.

The “working theory,” according to CNN, is that officers lost track of Crooks when he left the rally entrance area and went to his truck to grab his rifle.

With the FBI investigating the FBI for evidence the FBI had a role in the shooting, most questions will never be answered.
This is intentional. They will drag the so called 'investigation' out for years, until eventually it will simply disappear in time.

A new photograph shows the cell phone and transmitter device that authorities found next to shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks' body after the attempted assassination of former President Trump.

The photo was obtained by local news station WPXI.

A cell phone and transmitter found near Thomas Matthew Crooks' body. (WPXI)

Crooks opened fire on Trump from a rooftop about 130 yards away from the Republican candidate as he spoke at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

One attendee, Corey Comperatore, 50, a former fire chief of Buffalo Township, was killed, and two others – identified by Pennsylvania State Police as David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74 – were injured during the incident.

The FBI confirmed that Crooks was shot dead by Secret Service agents shortly after he opened fire on Trump.

Crooks had explosives inside his car, found parked near the Pennsylvania rally, and bomb making materials at his home, sources told Fox News.

The sources could not say how many explosives or what kind, but emphasized that more than one was found, including an IED found inside a car.

Fox News Digital's Scott McDonald and Danielle Wallace contributed to this update.

Has anyone gotten up on the roof of the building behind where Crooks was for a look around?

Who is the voice heard saying "Crooks! What are you doing?"

Just for starters.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Leftists in the media are freaking out over the iconic image of former President Donald J. Trump, and one editor is urging outlets to bury it.

As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words but in Trump’s case, it could also mean being elected in a landslide come November and the photo of the century could seal the deal.

The Republican Party nominee became a living American legend when after an assassin’s bullet nearly ended his life, a bloodied Trump raised his fist in the air and shouted “Fight, fight, fight!” with a photographer just happening to be there at the exact moment for the historic shot.

Some attendees at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee are sporting makeshift ear bandages in support of almost-assassinated former President Donald Trump — with one calling it “the newest fashion trend.”

Trump, 78, emerged onto the convention floor Monday night sporting a distinctive white patch over his right ear, which was grazed by a bullet that narrowly missed his head during the shooting at his rally in Pennsylvania.

The Undying Necessity of Moral Courage

By Jeffrey A. Tucker
7/16/24

NOTE: when reading at The Epoch Times, either use your browser's "reader mode" or disable javascript in your browser.

Excerpts:
Joseph Schumpeter dishes out heaps of astounding insights in his 1942 book “Capitalism, Socialism, and Democracy.” I keep going back to this treatise for guidance in our strange times, mainly to better understand the interaction of economics, politics, history, and culture. His outlook is probably best described as transideological: a partisan of capitalist systems, he was not optimistic about human nature itself.

Part of my draw to his work is that I used to dismiss it as excessively pessimistic. Of course he wrote in wartime. A product of Old World Europe, he made a name for himself as a scholar before the Great War. His education was of the highest prewar sort: all romance languages, all disciplines, the great books of all time, along with mighty technical knowledge. We’ll probably never see his likes again.

By the time the second war in Europe broke loose, his outlook had matured greatly from his earlier works on technical economics. He saw the impact of the rise of incredible wealth on the culture at large. Essentially, his view was that markets and capitalism lead to their own cultural undoing.

Yes, capitalism works. Manna falls as if from heaven, and people are no longer taught its source through any lived experience. Better lives, richer lives, more opportunities rain down on the population as if by magic, leading generations of people to believe that none of the blessings of civilization require anything like the ancient virtues. We are all along for the ride, and just enjoying its riches.

What does this do to human character? It trains people to believe that the ancient virtues are no longer operational. We don’t need fortitude, resilience, courage, and determination. A credit-soaked world no longer needs thrift, prudence, or sobriety. Instead, rising wealth of the sort we’ve experienced since the late 19th century trains people just to go along for the ride. Careerism replaces courage. Credentials replace talent. Erudition replaces wisdom. Indulgence displaces prudence.

This has a profound effect on policy, Schumpeter wrote. States come to believe that they can promise their populations anything and that normal accounting has been superseded. They create giant cradle-to-grave welfare states. They intervene in every conflict, domestic and foreign, as if there are no limits to resources. The culture celebrates recklessness, sloth, and opportunism instead of discipline and fortitude.

And what is the result, in Schumpeter’s view? The very foundations of prosperity are eaten away, giving rise to a form of socialism that works so long as the crisis is kept at bay.
[]
Our standards of living are falling, even dramatically, even at a pace no one has previously experienced in living memory. You know it in your bones and yet public culture hasn’t really admitted it.

All of this is backdrop to the real crisis of right now, and you know the substance of it: It is a political crisis now illustrated by an attempt on Donald Trump’s life. He was spared by the grace of God: a sudden turn of his head toward the screen caused the bullet to slice off the top of his ear but miss his head.

As if by a miracle, he survived.

But the story does not stop there. Having been shot at, and bleeding from his head, he rose to his feet and rallied the gathered crowd, while promising to fight on, and urging others to do the same. As security forces got him away from the violence, he fist-pumped the air one more time and then left.

In our times, we’ve rarely if ever seen anything like that. Those who said he was a mere actor, influencer, opportunistic politician, or businessman on the make saw a different man when faced with mortality itself. He exercised resilience, fortitude, and moral courage, all those ancient virtues that are so ill-practiced in our times but which ultimately drive history.

Most people I know, even those who completely oppose his politics, are still in awe of that scene. It rocked the world, and made history. This is even aside from the incredible images that came from the scene: the real-time videos themselves present a stunning display.

We in our times are so accustomed to a culture of inauthenticity, opportunism, performance, posing, careerist ladder climbing, and pettiness that it is startling to witness an authentic display of genuine fearlessness in the face of death. If I may say so: we needed this. Desperately. We all needed to remember and to know that it matters.

All politics aside, our times have deprecated and driven out the old virtues and toughness along with it. I’m convinced that an authentic display of exactly that is precisely what the world craves right now. We need it more than ever in our lives. Otherwise, we will continue to go the way that Schumpeter predicted, straight to the doom he foresaw for Western culture.

I don’t think Crooks was the neophyte shooter that has been sometimes stated in news reports. He was reported to have been using a range finder which suggests he had some understanding of ballistics and bullet drop. Truth is the 5.56 platform won’t break a sweat at 130-150 yards, even with a store bought over-the-counter weapon - if the shooter has any familiarity with it. Many 5.56 shooters I once hung out with would zero at 200 or 250 yards and adjust for bullet rise above line-of-sight at shorter distances. It seems well known he was a frequent shooter at a local range. For me at least, the difference between .223 and 5.56 amounts to a pinch of rabbit droppings to a shooter if they consistently use the same ammo and are familiar with it. I read a report where he bought 50 rounds of 62 gr FMJ BT rounds - a stable performer at any barrel length. The negative - if any hardware impacted his ability to shoot, it was his choice of optics. A zero-magnification red dot scope put him at a disadvantage for precision shooting.

So, what’s my larger point?  Our alphabet agencies had better be scrubbing his experience at the shooting range(s).  Who were his companions?  Was anyone in an apparent mentoring role? How much time did he spend there and did he shoot at different distances?  What kinds of questions did he ask of other shooters.  All those things.
