It wasn't a falsification.  Expenses paid to your lawyer are classified as "legal expenses".  It doesn't matter what they are for.

It's no different than Fani Willis paying Nathan Wade to travel to Washington and coordinate with White House officials on their case against Trump.  Guess how those expenses got logged by Willis' office?  "Legal Expenses".
