It may just be a trick of the light, but orange-ish brown clouds after an explosion normally indicate a serious concentration of Nitrates. Ammonium nitrate in particular (look at the cloud raised by the Beirut warehouse explosion some years back). There may have been the bonus of taking out a store of explosive materials as well as the meeting.
I saw a Twitter post yesterday from a military ordnance expert who said that the "double-clap" sounds heard in the videos and the red-orange clouds were evidence of thermobaric bomb blasts spreading throughout the underground tunnel network beneath those buildings and indeed detonating stored munitions, as you mention.
