What the USA is doing is nothing short of criminal in their treatment of Israel.  They should give them all the weapons they need. Israel has been a true ally to the USA since its founding.  Whereas Ukraine on the other hand, has NEVER been an ally of the USA.  Much of Ukraine sided with Germany during WWII, and it was an integral part of the USSR, or it wanted to be left alone until it needed our aid, and we fell all over ourselves to supply them with what will be trillions of dollars in aid.

I don't agree with your assessment.  Sure, after taking someone out like Israel did, the whack-a-mole that took the place of the person hit might feel that way for a month or two, but time has them getting comfortable and focused exclusively on how and what they can be doing to destroy Israel.  And they resume business as usual toward that end, and nothing is really changed.

Israel has been targeting leaders for decades, trying to keep to a minimum the injury of what is considered collateral damage.  This strategy has brought brief moments of peace.  But the reality, and I have never been there, but what I see reported in news segments does not show a nation free of fear of attack.  It appears to me it is always there, that threat.  And after October 7th, how will anyone in Israel have peace of mind that their spouse is safe, parents, their children are safe at school, etc.  It is more than ever a culture of living in fear, and I say that is bullsh*t.

The only logical strategy is to destroy the enemy such that they NEVER return.  NEVER!!!!!!!

The Whack-A-Mole argument offers no realistic superior alternate solution. It also ignores the fact that killing off "mole"-leaders in large numbers deprives the "mole" sounder of leadership, experience, and knowledge. Israel Retrieves Bodies of 6 Hostages from Hamas Tunnels in Gaza

Israeli forces conducted a daring and difficult operation in the tunnels under Khan Yunis, in Gaza, on Monday night to retrieve the bodies of six hostages who died in Hamas captivity.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israel Security Agency (ISA, or Shin Bet, or Shabak) said in a joint statement:

    Overnight (Monday), in a joint IDF and ISA operation, the bodies of the hostages Yagev Buchshtab, Alexander Dancyg, Avraham Munder, Yoram Metzger, Nadav Popplewell, and Haim Perry were rescued from the Khan Yunis area in the Gaza Strip.

    The rescue operation was conducted under the command of the 98th Division and carried out by the Paratroopers Brigade, ‘Yahalom’ Unit, and the 75th Battalion, along with ISA forces.

    The operation was enabled by precise intelligence from the ISA, IDF intelligence units, and the IDF Intelligence Directorate Hostage Headquarters.

    Following an identification procedure carried out by the National Institute of Forensic Medicine and the Israel Police, the IDF Manpower Directorate’s Hostage team, which is responsible for accompanying the families of the hostages, notified their families and communities today. The IDF and ISA send their heartfelt condolences to the families.

    The IDF and ISA are continuing to deploy all operational and intelligence means in order to fulfill the supreme national mission of bringing back all the hostages.

At least one of the hostages had appeared alive in a Hamas hostage video in December.

In a statement, Kibbutz Nir Oz noted that Avraham Munder, 79, had been a beloved member of the community. His son, Roee, was murdered by Hamas on October 7, and his wife and grandson were abducted and later released during a truce in November.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken acknowledged Monday that Israel had accepted the U.S. proposal for a hostage and ceasefire deal, while Hamas had not. There are roughly 109 hostages still in Gaza, about half of whom are believed to be alive.

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel on Sunday said it had recovered the bodies of six hostages in Gaza, including a young Israeli-American man who became one of the most well-known captives held by Hamas as his parents met with world leaders and pressed for his release, including at the Democratic convention last month.

The military said all six had been killed shortly before they were to be rescued by Israeli forces. Their recovery sparked calls for mass protests against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who many families of hostages and much of the wider Israeli public blame for failing to bring them back alive in a deal with Hamas to end the 10-month-old war. Negotiations over such a deal have dragged on for months.

In a separate development, gunmen shot and killed two people and wounded a third when they opened fire on a vehicle in the occupied West Bank, where Israel has been carrying out large-scale military raids in recent days. Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service confirmed the casualties.

Militants seized Hersh Goldberg-Polin, 23, and four of the other hostages at a music festival in southern Israel during Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack, which triggered the war.

The native of Berkeley, California, lost part of his left arm to a grenade in the attack. In April, a Hamas-issued video showed him, his left hand missing and clearly speaking under duress, sparking new protests in Israel urging the government to do more to secure his and others’ freedom.

The army identified the other hostages as Ori Danino, 25; Eden Yerushalmi, 24; Almog Sarusi, 27; and Alexander Lobanov, 33; who were also taken from the music festival. The sixth, Carmel Gat, 40, was abducted from the nearby farming community of Be’eri.

It said the bodies were recovered from a tunnel in the southern Gaza city of Rafah, around a kilometer (0.6 mile) from where another hostage, Qaid Farhan Alkadi, 52, was rescued alive last week.

“According to preliminary information, they were cruelly murdered by Hamas terrorists shortly before we reached them,” Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, the Israeli military spokesperson, told reporters.

Apparently, the general consensus is that Israel should surrender to Hamas and all the Jews vacate the country in order to appease Hamas to release the hostages.  Because that is essentially what they are demanding.

Histadrut calls to shut down economy as Israelis take to streets after hostage bodies recovered

The Histadrut, Israel's main labor organization, called for a total shutdown of the country's economy on Monday starting at 6 a.m., including Ben Gurion Airport, which will be shut down from 8 a.m.

Israelis gathered at junctions and blocked intersections around the country Sunday morning, calling for a hostage deal after reports came out that the bodies of six hostages had been retrieved from Gaza.

Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Eden Yerushalmi, Carmel Gat, Almog Sarusi, Alexander Lobanov, and Ori Danino were alive in captivity for nearly 11 months before being killed in captivity by Hamas soon before IDF forces reached their location, according to an IDF initial assessment.

The Hostage Family Forum called on Israelis to take to the streets and demand a hostage deal now. Protests were planned for Sunday evening at dozens of locations around the country.

The forum also called on local government, union heads, and large companies to shut down Israel's economy Monday as part of a call for a deal and as a sign of unity with the families. Additionally, the forum called on the head of the Histadrut labor federation to call for a general strike.

What makes these people think that Hamas will return these people alive?
They were apparently so opposed to doing so that they killed the latest group on the verge of being rescued.
Give in now, and any time they want to mess with Israel, they will grab more people.
I sympathize with those who hold out hope of seeing their loved ones alive again, but do NOT negotiate with terrorists. If you give in, they win.
