Ruling out resigning, PM says he’s made Israel stronger; is cautious on hostage deal

Primer Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday said he has no plans to resign and indicated he intends to remain in power once the war is over, to ensure Gaza is demilitarized and no new terror threat can emerge from there following Hamas’s October 7 massacres in southern Israel.

Asked about his plans for the day after the war in the face of calls for him to resign, Netanyahu replied: “The only thing I’m going to resign from is Hamas.”

"In the years I’ve led the State of Israel, it got much stronger,” he asserted, despite the country having sustained the worst one-day losses in its history on October 7, with most of the 1,200 victims of the Hamas slaughter being civilians. He cited the fact that “we can manage a multi-front campaign” that will soon have lasted 90 days, with a “wonderful army,” a strong economy and “international backing.”

"To achieve absolute victory, to fulfill all our goals, more time is needed. We act all the time with determination and strength, and I would like to emphasize — we do this while protecting the lives of our fighters as much as possible,” he said, adding that Israel was now “deepening the fight against Hamas.”

He stressed that he was also committed to restoring security along the border with Lebanon in the north amid escalating Hezbollah attacks, so the residents who were evacuated from there can return home.

Some critics of Netanyahu linked the failure to stop the shock incursion to the prime minister’s policy of passing along funds from Qatari to appease Hamas and the now-debunked concept that the terror group had been deterred by previous rounds of fighting.

According to a Channel 13 news survey published earlier this month, 70 percent of Israelis believe Netanyahu should resign as prime minister.

During Saturday’s press conference, Netanyahu also stressed his government’s actions in the West Bank, declaring that under his leadership “we work around the clock: arresting terrorists, eliminating terrorists, thwarting many terrorist attacks.”

 US sinks 3 Houthi boats in Red Sea after attack on merchant ship

The United States sunk three small Houthi boats in the Red Sea early Sunday morning following another attack on a merchant ship as tensions continue to rise in the region. 

U.S. Navy helicopters from the USS Eisenhower and the Gravely responded to a distress call issued by the container ship Maersk Hangzhao — the second distress call the ship issued in less than 24 hours due to “being under attack by four Iranian-backed Houthi small boats,” according to the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). CENTCOM said that the boats, which originated from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, fired at the Maersk Hangzhao and attempted to board the vessel after getting within 20 meters of the container ship.

The U.S. Navy helicopters were responding to the distress call and starting to give out verbal orders when the Houthi-controlled boats fired at them with crew-served weapons and small arms.  The helicopters sunk three of the four small boats and killed the crews, CENTCOM said.

“The U.S. Navy helicopters returned fire in self-defense,” CENTCOM said in a statement. 

The fourth boat fled the area. CENTCOM said that no U.S. forces were injured and there was no damage to U.S. equipment.

Two brothers saved dozens of lives during the massacre by Hamas terrorists at the Supernova music festival on October 7 by providing fire cover for escapees with weapons they found in a tank, while receiving instructions over the phone from an IDF officer. Some 360 of the 1,200 people killed in southern Israel that day were slaughtered at the outdoor festival.

According to a Channel 12 news report, rave attendees Daniel and Neria Sharabi fended off terrorists with firearms from the tank near the site of the massacre, also treating the wounded who were hiding with them.

With Daniel’s former IDF commander, Yoni Skariszewski, advising them by telephone, the brothers saved some 30 partygoers sheltering behind the tank amid the Hamas onslaught, the report said.

An Joint-Statement is reportedly expected to be made in the coming hours by the United States, Britain, and an Unknown European Country, announcing that they are in Final Preparations for a Large-Scale Military Operation against the Houthi Terrorist Group in Yemen which will include the launch of Hundreds of Missiles and Airstrikes against Pre-Planned Targets in Western Yemen and the Red Sea.

If only the Japanese had warned us before striking Pearl Harbor.  Biden is essentially warning them to evacuate certain locations that are obvious targets so that they can live to continue with their terroristic activities.

Israel plans to partially withdraw its forces from Gaza in the coming months as the war against Hamas enters a new phase Monday.

Israeli Defense Forces will now shift toward more targeted operations against Hamas, reducing the use of artillery and air strikes. Some of the reservists pulled up for active duty will also return to civilian life to help stimulate the economy, Reuters reported.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated this weekend that the war is set to last many more months, however.

"This will take six months at least, and involve intense mopping-up missions against the terrorists. No one is talking about doves of peace being flown from Shajaia," an Israeli official told Reuters, referring to a district in Gaza.

Hamas Denies Rapes, Claims Abducted Israeli Women Were Treated Well

The Palestinian terrorist group Hamas once again denied that its members committed rape and sexual violence during the October 7 attacks, despite ample evidence from eyewitnesses and forensic evidence recently documented by the New York Times.
The Times of Israel reported Monday:

    Hamas refutes the New York Times report on the weaponization of rape and sexual violence during the Gaza terror group’s brutal onslaught against Israel on October 7.

    In a statement in Arabic and English, Hamas politburo member Basem Naim claims that the Western media and news agencies are “biased to what the Israeli propaganda says [in terms of] lies and slanders against the Palestinians and their resistance.”

    Describing the October 7 savagery as “glorious,” Naim falsely claims that the New York Times report was based on accounts given indirectly by “women who said they heard other women repeating these allegations,” but there is “no conclusive evidence” that rapes took place.

Iran Warship Enters Increasingly Contested Red Sea Shipping Lanes

Tehran announced Monday it has sent a warship into the increasingly contested waters of the Red Sea as navies from other nations work to stem attacks from Iran-backed Houthi terrorists.

The semi-official Tasnim news agency reported Iran’s frigate Alborz, launched in 1969 on completion by Vickers in the UK, will fly the country’s flag across the key shipping lanes.

In its report, Tasnim did not specify the details of the Alborz’s mission but highlighted what it claimed were the regional implications of Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

“Following rising tensions in the Gaza war, there has been an acceleration in developments in the Gulf of Aden and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait,” it said, repeating words of action long pronounced by Tehran in its war with the west.

Israeli troops killed a Hamas commander who helped lead the Oct. 7 terror attack that killed some 1,200 people and saw about 240 others taken hostage.

Adil Mismah, the Nukhba Company Commander of the city of Deir al-Balah, was “eliminated,” Israeli Defense Forces wrote on X Monday.

Mismah had led terrorists into the Kibbutz Kissufim and ordered other gunmen to ravage the communities of Nirim and Be’eri, according to The Jerusalem Post.

The commander was slain in an airstrike directed by Israeli ground troops, officials said.

The IDF said troops also “struck Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror targets” in Shejaiya and located a large cache of weapons as well as destroying a launch post and “eliminating” a terror cell that had attacked Israeli troops.

Notice: Not a single one of the armed Hamas terrorists in the footage is in military uniform. The Ford was deployed to the Eastern Mediterranean so it could be within striking distance of Israel following the Oct. 7 attacks by Hamas.

The strike group includes the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford, eight squadrons of attack and support aircraft, Ticonderoga class guided missile cruiser USS Normandy, and missile destroyers USS Thomas Hudner, USS Ramage, USS Carney and USS Roosevelt.

US 6th Fleet officials said in the coming days, the fleet will redeploy to its home port as scheduled, where it will prepare for future deployments.

The Department of Defense will continue to evaluate force posture globally and retain an extensive presence in the Middle East and Mediterranean, officials added.

Ships that will remain in the area include the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, additional cruisers and destroyers in both the Middle East and Mediterranean and the recent arrival of the Wasp-class amphibious ship USS Bataan and Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Carter Hall in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.
