BREAKING: In a blatant Friday evening news dump going into Christmas weekend, the federal government has released the November border numbers.

CBP reports 233,740 migrant encounters, the highest November ever recorded, and a large increase over last November (174,845).

One wonders how many catastrophic illegal immigration milestones need to be reached before the Republican Party adopts the solution to every border problem: a total immigration moratorium. #AmericaFirst

Question to any biologist down in the valley.....  Alligators thrive around here, eastward to FL/GA along the 30th parallel.

Since it is not an issue of temperature.  Valley's warmer than here, might gators thrive down there in the Rio Grande,  and be a decent deterent for this crap?  Maybe the lack of marsh cover is the issue.

Might sound pretty heartless, but I am tired of this sh__.

Biden admin launching pilot program that would allow Americans to sponsor refugees for $2,275 each
BizPac Review, Jan 19, 2023

The Biden administration is set to launch a new pilot program on Thursday that will ostensibly allow groups of Americans to directly sponsor refugees from across the globe through the State Department program called the Welcome Corps.

The program permits groups of private American citizens to sponsor individuals through the Refugee Resettlement Program if they can cough up enough money to do so, pass background checks, and devise a plan on how to support them, according to Fox News Digital.  It is similar to a model used in Canada.

The program was first reported by Reuters. Groups of at least five people will be required to raise a minimum of $2,275 per refugee. Then refugees can begin the process of going through background checks.

[...]

The Biden administration has also facilitated those who seek to sponsor evacuees from both Afghanistan and Ukraine, as part of an effort to create pathways for migrants and refugees who are ostensibly fleeing harm. The government launched a program last year to bring in 100,000 Ukrainians via a program using humanitarian parole authority after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The program reportedly does not contribute to the refugee cap.

Biden has also announced an expansion of the humanitarian parole program that allows up to 30,000 Venezuelan, Cuban, Haitian, and Nicaraguan migrants to fly into the country if they have a US-based sponsor. The move is purportedly in response to a surge in illegal immigrants at the border.

Sasha Chanoff, who is the founder of RefugePoint which identifies people in need of resettlement, claims the sponsorships could be one of the most significant developments for the US refugee program since it began in 1980.

“It invites Americans to get involved in new ways,” he declared, according to Reuters.

More Caught Illegally Crossing Southern Border in Fiscal 2022 Than During Entire Trump Presidency

...............In fiscal 2017, when Donald Trump was inaugurated as president, the Border Patrol encountered just two individuals on the terrorist watchlist trying to sneak across the southern border between the ports of entry. In fiscal 2018, it encountered six. In fiscal 2019, it encountered none; and, in fiscal 2020, it encountered three.

In fiscal 2021, the year President Joe Biden was inaugurated, there was a substantial shift in the trend. That year, the number of individuals on the terrorist watchlist that the Border Patrol encountered trying to sneak across the southern border increased fivefold to 15.

Then, in fiscal 2022, it climbed to 98. So far in fiscal 2023, which isn't even half over yet, the Border Patrol has encountered 69 individuals on the terrorist watchlist trying to sneak across our southern border between the ports of entry.

How many on the terrorist watchlist have actually succeeded in illegally crossing our southern border into the United States? There is no way to know.

What we do know is that it only took 19 foreign terrorists who had made their way into the United States to hijack four domestic flights on Sept. 11, 2001.

While the Border Patrol managed to catch 98 on the terrorist watchlist trying to illegally cross our southern border between the ports of entry last year, is it possible there were 19 the Border Patrol did not catch?

There has also been a massive upward trend in the number of aliens the Border Patrol has "apprehended" or "encountered" as they tried to illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico border between the ports of entry.................

On one of the world’s most dangerous migrant routes, a cartel makes millions off the American dream

Darién Gap, Colombia and Panama (CNN) — There is always a crowd, but it can feel very lonely.

To get closer to freedom, they have risked it all.

Masked robbers and rapists. Exhaustion, snakebites, broken ankles. Murder and hunger.

Having to choose who to help and who to leave behind.

The trek across the Darién Gap, a stretch of remote, roadless, mountainous rainforest connecting South and Central America, is one of the most popular and perilous walks on earth.

Almost 250,000 people made the crossing in 2022, fueled by economic and humanitarian disasters – nearly double the figures from the year before, and 20 times the annual average from 2010 to 2020. Early data for 2023 shows six times as many made the trek from January to March, 87,390 compared to 13,791 last year, a record, according to Panamanian authorities.

They all share the same goal: to make it to the United States.

And they keep coming, no matter how much harder that dream becomes to realize.

A team of CNN journalists made the nearly 70-mile journey by foot in February, interviewing migrants, guides, locals and officials about why so many are taking the risk, braving unforgiving terrain, extortion and violence.

The route took five days, starting outside a Colombian seaside town, traversing through farming communities, ascending a steep mountain, cutting across muddy, dense rainforest and rivers before reaching a government-run camp in Panama. ...............

CBP: 82 Individuals on Terror Watchlist Caught Crossing U.S.-Mexico Border So Far in FY2023

"I anticipate terminating the national emergency concerning the COVID-19 pandemic on May 11, 2023," President Joe Biden said in February.

The end of the COVID emergency means that Title 42, the public health authority, will no longer be used as grounds to immediately expel illegal border-crossers.

As the March numbers suggest, the anticipated end of Title 42 next month may prompt another surge at the nation's borders.

Terrorist watchlist

Of particular concern is the growing number of people on the terrorist watchlist apprehended between ports of entry.

CBP says in the first six months of Fiscal Year 2023, 80 people named in the Terrorist Screening Dataset (TSDS) have been apprehended between ports of entry at the southwest border; and 2 have been apprehended at the northern border, for a total of 82 so far this fiscal year.

CBP apprehended a total of 98 people with TSDS records in all of Fiscal Year 2022 -- all 98 at the southwest border.

Of course, no one knows how many suspected terrorists evade detection...................

I know it is being discussed on another thread, but the fact that One Mexican Nationalist has killed 5 Hondurian Nationals 400 miles from the border (suburuban Cleveland Texas), is maybe the most stark and and dramatic event yet that has come out of this disaster.

This is the biggest example yet of the escalation, of how bold, brazen, and "unafraid" the hoard has become. Texas needs to become an unsanctuary state, and all of them rounded up and escorted back to where they came from. At least those here illegally.

You are absolutely correct.  Neither party is interested in securing our borders.  Too much money to be made and future votes.

I like Israel's wall. We have the $$ to send overseas but no $$ allocated to complete our wall.

Build the wall and arm it heavily and declare ILLEGALS as enemies.  It wouldn't take long for the issue to resolve.

We really don't need a wall. What we need is to have our EXSISTING laws enforced, and strengthened where necessary. In Singapore you cannot rent an apartment or have a utility turned on unless you can show that you are there legally.

Just for context, the four times deported illegal alien who just murdered five people in San Jacinto Count, Texas OWNS the house he was living in.  That's CRAZY!

Don't know about you, but quoting and aligning with prissy Linzy is about the last place you'll find me.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

I kinda like what [I believe] Smokin' Joe said a day or two ago (paraphrased):
"I'll take the truth from whoever speaks it".

Looks like military types are helping with traffic direction too.  Looks like Montezuma's revenge is coming more in the form of a Grayhound Bus.

Blind Squirrel, etc., but Linda maybe right about this one.
Probably won't happen again any time soon.

These buses should be met at the border by equally large objects:
Army howitzers.
