Cartels Brazenly Post ‘Help Wanted’ Ads to Recruit Human Traffickers

A one-way airline ticket from Mexico City to Dallas, TX costs as little as $129.  But the cartels charge as much as $15,000 to smuggle an illegal immigrant into the U.S. For the Mexican cartels, it’s “a billion dollar industry that rivals the profitability of trafficking illegal drugs,” according to the Border Report.

The cartels have President Biden to thank for this largess; his “come one, come all” campaign message to illegal migrants resonated so well that it gave them yet another mega-source of income.

The year before Mr. Biden’s election, the border patrol caught 487 illegal migrants at the border. In his first year as president, more than 3,200 migrants were apprehended and their numbers have skyrocketed ever since. So far in the current fiscal year — with two months to go — a staggering 2.75 million migrants, including any number of so-called “gotaways,” have been clocked seeking to cross the Mexican border.  The cartels use a growing number of them to smuggle narcotics. They are also using the surge of migrants to smuggle individuals seeking covert entry for whatever reason if they have enough cash.

Business has been so good that they are posting “help wanted” ads on social media looking for Americans “in desperate circumstances” to provide transportation once they cross the border.

Michael Salinas, a former Border Patrol agent, says the cartels use YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and TikTok to enlist people who want to make a dishonest buck, according to a report by The Daily Signal. “All the social media platforms are being used to recruit these folks. And it’s not always just the young kids, it’s just folks that want to make a quick buck.” But, he said, “They tend to recruit a lot of the younger crowd, because they know that the young kids are going to avoid prosecution [when caught], regardless of whether they have aliens or if they have narcotics as juveniles.”

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton says that “videos encouraging” young volunteers “to participate in human smuggling across the southern border are highly concerning. With the issuance of Civil Investigative Demands, my office is currently combing through TikTok company policies and getting to the bottom of what is happening in these social media posts,” according to the Washington Examiner.

Sheriff Brad Coe in Kinney County, TX told the Examiner that the cartel recruitment technique is simple but compelling. One ad just said, “Anyone looking to make easy money, contact us. [All you have to do is] Go to south Texas to pick up some people. We’ll give you $1,000 a head … We’ve had kids from broken homes with mom working two jobs and dads in jail. The lure of easy money is what does it. They get anywhere from $500 to $2,000 a head. The cartels will give them an address and say, ‘Pull up here and honk your horn twice’.”

According to the Department of Homeland Security, “Individuals seeking covert entry into the United States know they need to pay an organization for transport. Smuggling organizations, often associated with other transnational criminal organizations and able to take advantage of people in desperate circumstances, provide that transportation at a significant cost.”............

Highest Number in US History: Border Patrol Logs 8,000 Migrants Entering US Each Day

Immigration authorities are reporting the highest-ever daily number of migrants entering the United States along the southwest border, according to internal Department of Homeland Security communications reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.

Border Patrol officers are logging roughly 8,000 migrant encounters a day, the highest daily number in U.S. history, the communications show. Such a massive surge in migrants has left agencies such as Customs and Border Protection scrambling to implement new processing systems.

The record number of migrant encounters highlights the little progress the Biden administration has made in solving the border crisis. The news comes as the White House blamed former president Donald Trump for the crisis earlier this week, accusing the previous administration of leaving President Joe Biden with a "broken" immigration system. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre defended the president and claimed the Biden administration is taking "unprecedented action" at the southern border. Those actions, according to the White House, include new border technology and anti-smuggling task forces.

But the results of those actions are unclear. A spokeswoman for CBP did not dispute the migrant encounter numbers. In a statement to the Free Beacon, the spokeswoman said that "the traffic we are seeing this year is similar to the pattern we saw at this time last year." Border Patrol logged an average of roughly 7,700 migrant encounters a day nationwide last September, previously the highest number ever recorded.

Monthly migrant encounters, according to public CBP data, are already higher in the 2022 fiscal year than in any previous year. Border Patrol typically sees an uptick in migrant encounters during the fall and winter because of favorable weather conditions.

"Either the Biden administration is uninformed or they’re lying," a senior DHS official told the Free Beacon. "We cannot process the numbers flooding our borders and the administration’s solution is scrambling for ways to let people in faster."

Immigration authorities have already logged two million border encounters this fiscal year, a record high. The previous record holder was the 2021 fiscal year, which saw just under two million migrant encounters.

Vice President Kamala Harris claimed the "border is secure" earlier this month, prompting outrage from both Republicans and Democrats. Sen. Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.) called Harris "dead wrong."

"For … the vice president, or anybody [to] say our borders are secured, that is not accurate. I've been there," Manchin told Fox News. "It's wrong."

Texas governor Greg Abbott (R.) has for months been busing migrants to Democrat-run cities, such as Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. Mayors in those cities have attacked the move as "inhumane" and asked the federal government for aid.

Critics of the Biden administration point to policy changes that are responsible for the crisis. Among those include DHS termination of the Migrant Protection Protocols program, which forced asylum seekers to remain in Mexico until their asylum court date. That program, proponents argue, discouraged potential migrants from entering the United States.

Other policies include a shift away from prioritizing the deportation of illegal immigrants. The Free Beacon last year reported on deportations plummeting by 90 percent under the Biden administration, meaning fewer illegal immigrants are now removed from the country than at any point in decades..............

Biden Admin Awards $80 Million Contract That Prohibits GPS Monitoring Of Illegal Immigrants

The Biden administration is spending nearly $80 million on a new system to monitor illegal immigrants that prohibits the use of any GPS technology, a decision that experts say will make it impossible to locate their whereabouts after their release into the United States.

The system, according to government records reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon, is meant to track illegal immigrants via monthly check-ins via phone. Migrants released into the U.S. interior aged 18-19 are eligible for the program. Any GPS monitoring that would give exact locations, such as ankle monitor tracking, is explicitly forbidden, according to the contract.

"This sort of thing is popular among the left. It sounds great but the reality is that people in these programs will likely never be [deported]," former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Ron Vitiello told the Free Beacon. "There's nothing at the end of these programs. If they don't report in, that's that. They're now a fugitive."

The new program for illegal immigrants contradicts claims from the Biden administration that the federal government is investing in sophisticated monitoring programs for illegal immigrants during the worst border crisis in U.S. history. When Republican lawmakers criticized the White House over reports in April that immigration authorities were providing cell phones for illegal immigrants upon their release into the United States, the White House defended the conduct, saying the phones assist the government in monitoring the location of illegal immigrants.

"We need to take steps to ensure that we know where individuals are and we can track and we can check in with them," former White House press secretary Jen Psaki said.

The contract was awarded to Acuity International last month. The first payment of just over $16 million out of a potential $79.5 million was paid on Sept. 1.

ICE says in its memo that the purpose of the program is to "promote compliance" among illegal immigrants. Aside from providing case workers for the migrants, the contractor will also "develop and maintain a network of age appropriate and culturally sensitive community resources.".................

Texas border town business owner sells family BBQ restaurant after multiple migrant break ins

AGLE PASS, Texas – A business owner near the U.S. southern border said she was forced to sell her family honky-tonk after the venue was broken into on five separate occasions since February.

"I worked alongside my father for 19 years," said Selena Buentello Price, the former second-generation owner of The Wagon Wheel, a local barbeque joint. "One break-in in 25 years."

"From February to now, I've had five," Price said. "Not only has my business been broken into and ransacked—it's just the insecurity now, you don't feel safe at home anymore."

Price said migrants arriving in Eagle Pass often look for shelter and supplies in vacant buildings. Her family restaurant, which had been shuttered since the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, was a frequent stop............

Arrests at Southern Border Reach Record Two Million

For the first time ever, the number of illegal immigrants crossing the border reached two million in one fiscal year, U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported Monday.

Undocumented immigrants are flooding the country at a historic pace this fiscal year, which ends on September 30. Border Patrol recorded 2,005,026 arrests since last October. Of those arrests, 78 were of individuals on the FBI's terror watchlist, triple the number detained in the previous five years combined, Fox News reported. With a record 8,000 migrants encountered at the border every day, the White House faces growing criticism for its handling of the border crisis.

"We take what's happening at the southern border very seriously, unlike some," Gov. Ron DeSantis (R., Fla.) said in a speech last Thursday, "and unlike the president of the United States, who has refused to lift a finger to secure that border."

In recent months, DeSantis as well as the governors of Texas and Arizona have transported migrants to liberal cities whose leaders endorse lax immigration policies, bringing more attention to the crisis facing border cities.

Despite the record migrants at the border, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has defended the Biden administration's handling of the crisis. She claims they have taken "unprecedented action" at the southern border, including new border technology and anti-smuggling task forces. Biden administration officials emphasized on Monday that more immigrants have been removed or expelled this year than any previous year. Just last year, however, the Biden administration's policies led to the lowest deportation rate in decades, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

US officials: Border crossings soar among Venezuelans

he number of Venezuelans taken into custody at the U.S. border with Mexico soared in August, while fewer migrants from Mexico and some Central American countries were stopped, officials said Monday.

Venezuelans surpassed Guatemalans and Hondurans to become the second-largest nationality after Mexicans among migrants crossing the U.S. border illegally. U.S. authorities stopped Venezuelans 25,349 times in August, up 43% from 17,652 times in July and four times the 6,301 stops recorded in August 2021.

At the same time, it was the third straight month that fewer immigrants from Mexico and Central America’s Northern Triangle countries of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. Those nationalities have dominated the mix for decades.

Overall, U.S. authorities stopped migrants 203,598 times in August, up 1.8% from 199,976 times in July but down 4.7% from 213,593 times in August 2021.

Authorities stopped migrants 2.15 million times from October through August, the first time that measure topped 2 million during the government's fiscal year beginning Oct. 1. It was a 39% increase from 1.54 million stops the same period a year earlier.

Border crossings have been fueled partly by repeat crossers because there are no legal consequences for getting expelled under a pandemic-era rule that denies a right to seek asylum. Even so, the numbers are extraordinarily high.

Migration from Cuba and Nicaragua remained high, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data. Cubans were stopped 19,057 times in August, down from 20,096 times in July but up from 4,496 in August 2021. Nicaraguans were stopped 11,742 times, down from 12,075 in July but up from 9,979 in August 2021.

It's the latest sign of rapidly changing migration flows as U.S. authorities wrestle with unusually large influxes overall.

While no single reason can be pinpointed, it is extremely challenging for the U.S. to expel migrants from Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba under the pandemic rule known as Title 42, which U.S. officials invoke to deny people a chance at seeking asylum on grounds of preventing the spread of COVID-19. U.S. relations with all three countries are strained, making it difficult to send them home.................

1.8 million more illegal immigrants living in the U.S. since the start of the Biden administration

New Census numbers indicate that 1.8 million illegal immigrants have settled in the U.S. since President Biden took office, powering a surge in the ratio of foreign-born to native-born residents, according to a new report Thursday.

The Center for Immigration Studies says there are now 47.9 million immigrants — legal and illegal — now in the U.S.

That’s 14.6% of the total population, and if trends continue the country will set a record for the largest share of immigrants by the middle of next year. That will cross the previous high of 14.8% set around the turn of the 20th century.

All told, some 2.9 million more immigrants now live in the U.S. than did in January 2021, when Mr. Biden was sworn in. Among those are the 1,8 million illegal immigrants — a population larger than the size 12 states, including West Virginia, Hawaii, New Hampshire and Maine.

“The new data reflects the ongoing crisis at the border created by the Biden administration policies that are encouraging so many illegal immigrants to come into the country,” said Steven A. Camarota, the lead researcher on the new study, which relies on numbers from the Census Bureau’s monthly Current Population Survey.

The numbers add depth to the ongoing chaos at the border.

Illegal migrants wave Venezuelan flag after crossing US southern border, attack Border Patrol agents

A massive group of illegal migrants on Monday crossed into the U.S. waving a large Venezuelan flag and, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP), attacked Border Patrol agents – before being pushed back into the river as agents used crowd control measures.

The shocking incident, partially caught on video, saw a group of Venezuelan migrants crossing illegally into El Paso, Texas, as they waved the enormous flag. Agents can then be seen pushing migrants back into the river while firing pepper balls near them as crowd control.

In a statement, CBP said a group of Venezuelans had attempted to illegally enter the U.S. while protesting along the Rio Grande’s international boundary.

The agency said one of the protesters had assaulted an agent with a flagpole, while another had thrown a rock at agents, injuring one in the process. That in turn led Border Patrol to initiate crowd control measures.

A federal judge issued an order on Tuesday barring federal authorities from using Title 42, a Trump-era rule that allowed the U.S. to quickly expel migrants who crossed the border.

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan called the policy "arbitrary and capricious" in his ruling on Tuesday.

'Not even close': Dem senator holds nothing back against his own party for being out of touch on border crisis

Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly (Ariz.), who won reelection this month, blasted his own political party on Monday for being out of touch on important issues, especially the border crisis.

Speaking with the Washington Post's Karen Tumulty, the former astronaut held nothing back when asked if Democrats have their finger on the pulse of border crisis-related voter frustration.

"Absolutely not. Not even close," Kelly declared.

    I continue to talk to my Republican colleagues about how we have to do more. We have to do more in border security. We have to do more in comprehensive immigration reform, especially “dreamers,” but also these visa programs. If you’re a farmer, especially in Southern Arizona, despite having a ready supply of eager workers, you don’t have the visas available and it’s a problem for them.

    But when I talk to my Republican colleagues who are not anywhere near a border — let’s say they’re in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee — they have the same problem. So there are solutions and we’re continuing to work on this. Our country would really benefit from stronger border security and comprehensive immigration reform.

While Kelly believes that many Democratic lawmakers "don’t really understand" the border crisis, he also knocked Republicans who "just want to talk about it and use it for political purposes."

But the actual number of migrants who entered the U.S. is likely higher, because many were simply never apprehended by authorities.

What about those that rape, murder, assault or loot legal American citizens. Attend a vigil for victims of illegals; it's an eye opener. If they are caught (unlikely) they are thrown into our prison system.  Who do you think is picking up their tab?  You and me.

'Just a matter of time' before a terrorist gets through border and kills Americans, Lindsey Graham warns

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., warned Friday that "it's just a matter of time" before a terrorist comes into the United States through the southern border and kills Americans.

Graham joined "Faulkner Focus" to discuss the national security risk facing Americans and the "low morale" experienced by Border Patrol agents as Title 42 is expected to expire on December 21.

"It's just a matter of time until somebody comes across that border and kills a bunch of Americans because they're a terrorist," he said.

More than 73,000 illegal immigrants evaded Border Patrol agents in November, according to new data seen by Fox News, marking the highest number ever recorded at the southern border.

The number of "gotaways" refers to the number of illegal immigrants who have evaded overwhelmed Border Patrol agents and have been detected by other forms of surveillance but not caught. It does not count those who were not spotted.

Graham said Border Patrol agents feel "abandoned" by the Biden administration amid reports of suicides.....................

'Nation's Deadliest Drug Threat' Spreading Across US Amid Biden's Border Crisis

Most of the fentanyl coming into the U.S. is no longer being sent through the mail from China. Instead, China is shipping it to Mexico, where it's manufactured in labs and smuggled over the border, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).   

Law enforcement officers point to the amount of it funneling across the border as the nation's single deadliest drug threat.   

"Chinese criminals are exporting these chemicals into Mexico so Mexican cartels can distribute this poison as counterfeit pills. The whole point is to drive addiction and make a profit," said Lt. Chris Olivarez of the Texas Department of Safety.   

Sold as powder or pill, fentanyl is 100 times stronger than morphine, 50 times more potent than heroin, and cheaper to mass produce.  Even a tiny amount of it can be lethal.

An estimated 100,000-plus Americans died because of fentanyl during the pandemic alone. Numbers continue to soar.   

"It's been found in the black market Adderall, ecstasy pills. It's been found in cocaine. People think they are ingesting another drug and it is actually fentanyl," said Ron Vitiello, former Deputy Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. 

DEA lab tests show that 60 percent of fentanyl-laced fake pills analyzed in 2022 contained a potentially fatal dose of the opioid. Colorful pills, agents say are being used to target children, are also popping up in one community after another.   ................

Who’s Really Facilitating America’s Border Crisis? Biden Isn’t Acting Alone



Catholic Charities and other non-governmental organizations are working in concert with the Biden administration to facilitate the worst border crisis in American history, according to an investigation that examined the movement of 30,000 mobile devices in the United States.

The shocking report is a snapshot of the border crisis over the course of just one month and it shows how the mass resettlement of illegal aliens is impacting nearly every congressional district in America.

Using the movement patterns of anonymized cell phones, The Heritage Foundation investigation reveals how tens of thousands of illegal aliens are making their way to the U.S. interior thanks to the aid and comfort of a network of private organizations. (The Daily Signal is the news outlet of Heritage.)

Those non-governmental organizations are numerous and include more than the 30 separate physical locations cited in Heritage’s report. Catholic Charities is the most recognizable name, but other faith-based organizations are represented as well.

“Overflow from Customs and Border Protection is being transferred to these organizations so that Border Patrol avoids overcrowded facilities,” Heritage wrote in a memo announcing the findings. “These organizations apply for, and receive, taxpayer money to provide processing and transportation services and infrastructure to facilitate the migration of illegal aliens into the interior of the country.”

In fiscal year 2022, ending Sept. 30, a record 2.76 million illegal aliens crossed the border, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. That number is more than 1 million higher than the previous annual record set in 2021.

“Illegal Immigration Is Everywhere”

The mere 30,000 mobile devices that were analyzed by Heritage illustrate the scale of the problem: It’s a tiny sample compared to the millions of illegal aliens who have entered the United States on President Joe Biden’s watch.

Mike Howell, director of Heritage’s Oversight Project, unveiled the findings Monday during an interview on Steve Bannon’s War Room. The investigation was a collaboration between the Oversight Project and Heritage’s Border Security and Immigration Center.

“They’re doing this under the cover of night, and we caught them,” Howell said. “We’re showing this goes everywhere. It’s in every community in the United States.”.................

The second phase focused on 20 private organizations located in Arizona, California, and Texas. Just in January 2022, more than 22,000 unique cell phones were detected at these locations. Those devices would eventually make their way to 431 congressional districts (of the 435 nationwide).
