Why Did You Vote For Trump
« on: November 08, 2020, 08:01:31 pm »
I voted for Trump in both elections, so I decided to take a poll on another message board asking people why they voted for Biden.  With such a divide, I was curious as to if it was emotional because they hated Trump or was it that they were in favor of Biden's political views.

I received several respectful responses.  However, I also received a lot of F*ck Off, Middle Fingers, Poop emojis, told to play in traffic, called a clown and a Nazi.  All because I didn't vote their way.  I was very polite and respectful in my replies even telling them that Biden said last night that Trump supporters were our competition and not our enemies.  Yet, I still received hate from many but not all.  So I will ask you all, why did you vote for Trump?  Was it due to his policies or because you like his personality?

The exact same reason I support Ted Cruz. They have both done in office exactly what they promised to do while campaigning for office.  A very rare thing!

And BTW: I did not vote for Trump in 2016.  (I had the luxury of knowing he was going to easily win in my state.)

I voted for Trump the first time as he promised to appoint more conservative justices to SCOTUS and to ensure Hillary lost.

I voted for Trump this time as I felt he deserved it; he displayed patriotism more so than many presidents before him, turned the economy around, showed how corrupt the left was and wanted to prevent Biden winning and implementing socialism.

Because I realized that whatever his personality may be, he gave us the gift of a movement that will carry on.

Trump may lose.  But he wasn't nearly repudiated, so we live to fight another day.  We've got the GOP in our grasp, to tell the RINOs to either join us, or leave.

Then in 2022,  a Red Tsunami will render Pelosi and The Squad Powerless.   That is what we must focus on, regardless of what the end result of this election is.   Either way,  Trump will remain a force, either as President or Kingmaker.

I voted for Trump because he's the Standard-Bearer for the Republican Party. I am for limited govt and since we have a two party system, I only have two choices. In my mind the Republicans would limit the growth of govt more than the Dems. In the future, if a 3rd party grows in strength and becomes a viable option, I am go 3rd party.

There cannot be a Red Tsunami unless there are enough true conservatives to run; certainly not many left in the Senate and not many in the House.  We must get conservatives to run and push them over the finish line to victory.

Getting conservatives to run in the first place is the initial problem, and for them to actually win their primary and on to victory is the next hurdle.  Not impossible, but highly unlikely.

I just checked that other message board, and am being accused of masturbating to Trump's picture while choking myself and that Trumpsters are evil Fing people.  Why can't the other side just admit that others have a difference of opinion and accept it. That's what made our country great, the fact that we all can voice our own opinions.

I voted for Trump because I took the time to study his background and I ignore the uniform, across the spectrum media attacks and caricatures.

But to your point, I voted on his reputation as a good manager and tough negotiator and for his support of veterans, among other ‘tells’ as to his patriotism. Plus, he was an American icon for decades in business and in popular culture.

Well... you'll find that this message board is different than most.  I am sorry that you were treated so disrespectfully.

Seriously folks.   I say this with love and affection, but you're all blowing smoke out your asses.

The "Conservative" idea, at best, has been watered down for decades.  The spigot was turned on at Woodstock and all the pipes have corroded since.

The days when our mothers left the household for that 2nd car...home in the suburbs.  The day Roe vs Wade made it socially and morally acceptable to end a life in the name of convenience... that's when the crack first appeared.  It's all documented.

Today, it's become a battle between those of us who want to honor the ideals of our Founding Fathers and who wish to continue the "Great Experiment" and Individualism, and those who have been brainwashed or indoctrinated into believing the government should provide for ALL our wants and needs without putting forth any personal effort other than squeezing through the birth canal.

That's why I have been butting heads with the likes of @roamer_1. The one-trick pony stuck on fiscal disciplines.

In a sense he's right.  It's a losing battle...this slide away from God and honor.  He chooses to live safely in the wilderness.

Most of us are unable to have that luxury so we either fight with our ballot to stave off the torches and pitchforks at the gate, or begin to literally fight for our lives and those of our children/descendants.

Have said this before.  In a sick way, it's fortunate for them that I am a harmless old man with chest pains.

If I were half my age, I'd probably be on the news for checking off my list.

In 2016, I didn't. My vote went to Gary Johnson that year, since he seemed to be the least bad of a bad batch of candidates (there were four on the ballot—and quite simply I had seen enough not to believe or trust Trump on anything he said) and I live in New York where my vote never counts anyway.

But in 2020, I went into the booth undecided. None of the third party candidates impressed me at all, and I had mixed feelings about Trump (if the election were in 2019 I probably would have had an easier time). But I ultimately decided that the downside was smaller if Trump were elected than Biden.

Ultimately, I have to believe that the candidate who gets my vote will move the country in a direction that leaves us in a better condition than we were.

I voted for him because the "democrats" threatened to rig the system so they could never lose power.  But it appears they may have accomplished this already.

The other message board is actually a baseball message board called Mets Refugees.  They have a political section, so I posed the question.  I even mentioned that I will give Biden a chance to see if he does good.  I always want the president to do well regardless of which club he resides in.  They still felt I needed to be "punished for voting Trump."  I guess difference of opinion is something you cannot constructively debate.

Only if Trump gives up.  This fight is for all the marbles, especially elections.  Do you think Trump is going against what he's always done?  If past is prologue, I say, "NO!"
