IDF soldier wounded in firefight with 20 suspects at Egypt border crossing

A spokesperson for the Egyptian army says a drug smuggling attempt was thwarted near the Al-Awja (Nitzana) crossing, 6 individuals were arrested and one died

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated a female soldier was wounded in a firefight with 20 suspects attempting to cross the border from Egypt, while Egyptian officials said a drug smuggling operation was thwarted in the area.

A spokesperson for the Egyptian army said a clash broke out and one individual was killed south of the Al-Awja (Nitzana) border crossing, adding the smuggling of an "estimated 174 kilograms of narcotic substances of various types, was thwarted."

The IDF, for its part, only indicated that the Israeli soldiers identified hitting the suspects near the Nitzana border opening, without going into detail about the incident. The female soldier was initially moderately wounded, but after medical treatment her condition has improved.

Freed Israeli hostage Agam Goldstein-Almog told Israel’s Channel 13 on Tuesday that fellow female hostages were raped repeatedly by their Hamas captors in Gaza, and that her own captors threatened to forcibly “marry” her as well.

Israel prepares for possibility that raped hostages could be impregnated by Hamas

Israeli physicians are preparing for the devastating possibility that some women being held hostage by Hamas may have been raped and impregnated by their captors.

Specialists and medical centers across Israel are holding internal discussions on how to approach the physical and emotional condition of female hostages who could be several weeks pregnant following the Oct. 7 attacks by Hamas, the Hebrew publication Maariv reported

“I am uncertain how they will cope, but we must prepare now for this terrible theoretical possibility of a woman conceiving or raising such a child. Thus, we must stop this atrocity, not allow the captives to perish there, bring them back, and provide them with care,” Prof. Tal Biron-Shental, chair of obstetrics and gynecology at Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba, told the outlet.

Depending on the circumstances of conception and the age of the mother, pregnant women in Israel can apply to terminate a pregnancy up until the moment of birth, according to the Ministry of Health.

While early-stage abortions involve expelling the pregnancy using oral medications, a later-term termination requires a higher-risk procedure to stop the fetus’ heart activity with a syringe, Maariv said.

Maybe FoxNews, OAN, NewsMax, etc., should start couting the number of days Americans have been held hostage by Hamas.

This is what help sink Jimmy Carter during the Iranian Hostage Crisis (1979-1981).

ABC Nightline was started during the Iranian Hostage Crisis to intially provide extra covergage in the days before 24 hour news networks.

Remind Americans and question Biden Admin about Americans held hostage by Hamas.

It's best to presume the hostages are dead, or are better off dead than being in continued Hamas captivity, and chase Hamas out of Gaza, all the way to Tehran.

Keep an eye on Iran and Pakistan. The countries are on the brink of a serious escalation after Iran targeted Pakistan with missile/drone strikes on Tuesday. Iran says Jaish al-Adl militant positions were hit. Pakistan says two children were killed.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week that Israel cannot defeat Hamas — that there is no “military solution,” and that Israel will have to accept a Palestinian state.

Netanyahu reportedly rejected the idea.

NBC News reported Wednesday that Blinken, and Biden, are therefore trying to work around Netanyahu — the democratically-elected leader of Israel — in a departure from the Biden administration’s posture as the supposed defender of democratic ideals:

Blinken told Netanyahu that ultimately there is no military solution to Hamas, according to the officials, and that the Israeli leader needs to recognize that or history will repeat itself and violence will continue. But, the officials said, Netanyahu was unmoved.

The officials said the Biden administration is trying to lay the groundwork with other Israeli and civil society leaders in anticipation of an eventual post-Netanyahu government. In an attempt to work around Netanyahu, Blinken also met individually with members of his war Cabinet and other Israeli leaders, including opposition leader and former Prime Minister Yair Lapid, officials said.

They have. They’ve removed some troops out of the northern part of Gaza. That’s really important. A lot of that is because of what this President’s been doing.”

Jean-Pierre said, “Israel, obviously, is an ally, and it has been for some time. And…1,200 souls were massacred on October 7. And you have Hamas, which is a terrorist organization…leaders in that organization have said they will do October 7 over, over, and over again. And so, while we want to — obviously, we do not want one more life taken in Gaza, we do not want that as it relates to the Palestinian people. It is not something that the President wants. That’s why we’ve had these diplomatic conversations with Israel on them being really precise and more accurate on how their — what their actions, their operations, — and they’re — they said that they’re going to lower their intensity of operation. They have. They’ve removed some troops out of the northern part of Gaza. That’s really important. A lot of that is because of what this President’s been doing. But let’s not also forget there’s been humanitarian aid that’s been going into Gaza. And that is because of the leadership of this President. And so, we want to make sure that we’re getting that really important humanitarian aid, as I just mentioned, whether it’s water, medical assistance, medical aid into Gaza.”
